Looks like we need another new thread Blush- we've been rather busy!

Up to date (ish) Stats thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

As previously- Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the Facebook group (better for sharing documents and pictures- especially picture of gorgeous babies), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Bring on the irritating texts from family members and best friends to find out whether you've had your babies or not (like you wouldn't tell them.....), more weird and disgusting labour symptoms, more internal examinations than you can shake a stick at, and LOTS OF BABIES!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

On an entirely weight-gain-unrelated note (although perhaps not, as it'll involve me wearing a swimming costume), DH has just revealed he's bought me a spa day to use a few months after I've had the baby! Very sweet, AND he bought me flowers and biscuits yesterday. He's obviously been paying attention when I've recently mentioned labour and how annoying it will be...

PurplePoppySeed · 30/08/2013 21:34

kitten sorry just seen your note, I tried to pm you on here and FB! Have you found either?

Kittenkatzen · 30/08/2013 22:02

purple yes I got the fb message sorry for not replying yet only had a few mins on the laptop, will do it tomorrow!

SGJ aww bless your DH how lovely of him Smile

RunningBear78 · 30/08/2013 22:47

I thought i was Ing to have to divorce dh when he announced that I wasn't allowed to buy any of the gorgeous winter baby suits with little ears. Then found one in the bag of clothes we have been given ...with a little bear on hooray!!! Grin

juniper9 · 30/08/2013 23:06

Bear, I bought a really cute one from h&m and it was only £15... It's quite beary too!

andadietcoke · 31/08/2013 08:44

RunningBear why is DH so morally opposed to teeny tiny ears on teeny tiny clothes?! How could someone mind such a thing?!

SGJ · 31/08/2013 14:25

'Unusual dampness' has continued, am now working with gunk that's occasionally tinged pink/red/ brown, so definitely the start of losing my plug. Haven't had many contractions though, probably only about 5 since waking up this morning. Making the most of a probable last weekend as a family of 3, and a sunny one at that!

RunningBear78 · 31/08/2013 14:59

Personally I don't understand why anyone would not jump at the chance to dress tiny cute babies in super cute clothes!? anyway, seems I am allowed to use the one we have been given, but not buy new ones ...i think that is a win!

PurplePoppySeed · 31/08/2013 16:16

My DH is a bit anti bear suits, I think it's because he got dressed in one and the photos ome out too often Grin

juniper9 · 31/08/2013 17:34

Apparently Edinburgh Zoo shop is selling panda onesies. I'd like to say I haven't already checked their online shop, but that would be a lie. All clothes are 10x cuter with ears, 20x cuter if they have a tail too and 30x cuter if they have paw pads. It's a scientifically proven fact Grin

jennimoo · 31/08/2013 18:55

I totally agree juniper :) I've got a cute monkey onsie for DD to wear this winter, she's 3 so I might not be able to get away with it much longer!

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 31/08/2013 19:05

Oh good gracious, the ILs have surpassed themselves now. I sent an email giving them the date our vicar has said is available for baptism of both DS and yet-to-arrive DC2. They have written back that yes they will keep that date free, but then "You seem to be lacking a baby at the moment unless there's something you are not telling us." And then complained that we haven't told them anything compared to Janet and Roy who know that their next grandchild will arrive on a specific date in December and is going to be a boy called Billy Bob (names changed to protect the innocent). Er, what? We told them in February the due date (the actual one, against my our better judgement) , that we don't know the sex and that we haven't picked names. DH is hopping mad, and I can now hear the sounds of the constituents of a beef stir fry being chopped angrily to prevent himself phoning them and giving them an earful of what-for.

We have a handmedown snow suit from Gap in tan suedette with bear-like ears. It is gorgeous, but is for a 9-12 monther, so unless we go somewhere cold next summer or have an outrageous whopper of a baby, we might not get to use it... :)

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 31/08/2013 19:10

What makes it worse (I may have told this story before) is that DH's brother and his very private some might say to a loopy degree wife only told the ILs about the arrival of their child the day she arrived - yes that's right, a phone call saying congratulations you have a grand-daughter. You'd think we would have less interference in comparison, as thankfulness that we keep them in the loop at all, not demands for exhaustive detail to make up for it.

SGJ · 31/08/2013 20:00

They sound bonkers Rake! Some people have no objectivity or perspective, especially at this stage!

amiready · 31/08/2013 20:09

Hello, I'm back again!
Unless we have any speedy labours that start and finish within the next 4 hours - it looks like we've made it to the new school year!! Yay!! That has been on my mind for the last nine months!
Can now start trying all the upright and forward positions with squats! And a big fat chinese curry. Oh yes.

andadietcoke · 01/09/2013 09:08

juniper I squealed when I discovered that my cuddle robes have tails as well as ears.

runningbear [taps nose] noted.

RunningBear78 · 01/09/2013 09:30

Oh yeah, DJ made me buy the polar bear hooded towels though for their cuteness value ...wonder why they don't count? Maybe it is an 'in public' thing.

ION have just got the sewing machine out whilst making chicken soup (which I have never made before) but have some uncontrollable urge to make this morning!? Nesting anyone?

Readytosettle · 01/09/2013 09:58

Not sure how many are suffering from nasty itchy stretch marks as no one else seems to be mentioning it....anyways I've discovered Mum&Me Stretch Mark Fader...not sure about it's fading abilities as am obviously still stretching, but it has a metal roller built in to the tube which is very soothing when ur trying to fight the urge to itch...

PurplePoppySeed · 01/09/2013 10:32

Rake can't believe your ILs, sound like you guys are managing them as best you can and at least you DH is totally in the same camp as you n how they are being... I'm planning to start ignoring my phone regularly over the next week, so I become unreliable and people don't assume I'm in labour!

Ready I'm terrified of getting stretch marks as I had them sooooo badly as a teenager, still have the white marks all around my boobs and all over my hips, however so far I seem to be lucky (touch wood) but that might be because I was a fat teenager, I'm only now just up to the weight I was at 18! For me, as a teenager, bio oil seemed to be the only thing that worked, but that was 10-15 years ago Shock

Readytosettle · 01/09/2013 11:53

I got them on hips & boobs as a teen too....thought I'd got away with it this time then at 34 weeks they just came out of nowhere :-( Fortunately they're all under my bump so can only see them if I look in the mirror, but that doesn't stop them itching...

jennimoo · 01/09/2013 12:14

I had terrible ones as a teen too. With first pregnancy I had one or 2 appear at the very end underneath. This time I had them all over my bump! I did put on half a stone more but I wouldn't think that would make that much difference!

frogchops · 01/09/2013 13:10

Oh yes my stretch marks itch like crazy! Actually they're quite sore sometimes :-/

CheeseStrawCraving · 01/09/2013 13:23

Can I ask some advice please? LO has developed dry skin, seemingly overnight on his torso, is this normal? It doesn't look suspicious, just very dry, but I am not sure how/whether to treat? He is due o have his first bath tonight so should I baby oil him? TIA

jennimoo · 01/09/2013 13:49

Cheese straw - totally normal I reckon, both mine have had this. It will likely go a bit peely too. It's like the first layer or skin from being in the womb gets 'shed' I think you can use e45 but I'm not going to use anything this time

Readytosettle · 01/09/2013 14:29

cheese I think if u use anything at this stage then olive oil is recommended over baby oil.
