Looks like we need another new thread Blush- we've been rather busy!

Up to date (ish) Stats thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

As previously- Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the Facebook group (better for sharing documents and pictures- especially picture of gorgeous babies), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Bring on the irritating texts from family members and best friends to find out whether you've had your babies or not (like you wouldn't tell them.....), more weird and disgusting labour symptoms, more internal examinations than you can shake a stick at, and LOTS OF BABIES!

I had exactly the same kind of night, she feeds fine but she was stopping after 5 mins or falling asleep as she fed, then the second I tried to move to get some sleep she was crying for more milk. I do think as I get stressed she picks it up from me so its a never ending cycle until I finally relax - last night I ended falling asleep while she fed, but she got a proper feed and when I woke I was able to put her down! (Until the next 1)

jennimoo · 24/09/2013 11:31

I think they get cross they're hungry but are too tired to stay awake properly so as soon as they latch they relax and fall asleep. That's what DS tends to do after fussing about latching anyway!

PoppettyPing · 24/09/2013 12:56

Ooh so i had a baby finally. Stubborn but gorgeous little girl was born 10 days late on Sat 21st at 1.51 weighing 8lbs2.

I had originally planned an unmedicated home birth but due to a bleed and the most brutal contractions despite no dilation, off to hospital I went. They ended up having to induce me because i just wasnt progressing and i was just not coping! So I had ALL THE DRUGS known to man. And an episiotomy, ventouse and 2nd degree tear. On a positive note though every single midwife and doctor I dealt with in the 2 days I was in was absolutely ace. I was treated with such kindness and respect. Baby had me onion too when she was born and even all the monitoring they did of her was done with her in my arms. Long story short they made my unexpectedly medical birth a million times better than I'd expected.
Glad to hear people's feeding experiences on here too! It's a whole new world innit? Hope everyone's getting on well, pre-baby or post-baby!

PoppettyPing · 24/09/2013 13:11

Me onion? Meconium! Ha

fl0b0t · 24/09/2013 14:23

kipsonline · 25/09/2013 07:33

Hurrah for poppetty! Enjoy x

EmmaDee · 25/09/2013 09:34

Congrats poppetty, your birth sounds a bit like mine. Pretty draining but totally worth every minute!

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 25/09/2013 12:22

Congrats poppety!

So, I took baby by tube after rush hour on my own into work this morning (central London). I'm now on a bus to Oxford St to go bra shopping at Selfridges. At work I'm the boss of four blokes, I'm younger than three of them by quite a long way, sometimes it feels like I'm Sandra in New Tricks. Anyway, I caught up a bit on what's been happening the past five weeks, as we sat in the cafeteria. I had to do three boobs worth of feeds, which is fine as I have the right arrangement of loose top over vest top going on, but the milk flow is really too fast at the moment for her little gulping throat to keep up with so she gets really windy. So she did a spectacular belch-chunder right down my cleavage. Marvellous.

Peregrin · 25/09/2013 15:24

Congratulations komponist and Poppetty!

Rake, if your underlings are quite a bit older the chances are that they are aware of and blase about the accidents that can happen with breastfeeding? Sounds like you are not planning a lengthy maternity leave, either.

Wincher · 25/09/2013 22:28

Do you think we should start a postnatal thread soon? I know not everyone has popped yet but we are all so busy chatting on fb we aren't really filling this thread up. I would be interested to hear some of the birth stories people have said they didn't want to share before in case they scared people... some people have already started a September thread in postnatal clubs, which we could invade, or start our own!

PurplePoppySeed · 25/09/2013 22:52

Good plan - I keep meaning to update the stats thread too, but life is suddenly a lot more busy Wink

fl0b0t · 25/09/2013 23:01

Good thinking. I never knew how this 'where a thread goes' thing worked anyway!

I think all of the postnatalers (that's a real word, sure) should help us antenatalers get our babies out.

If you all jump on my bump at once then it might squeeze out like toothpaste.

Joskar · 26/09/2013 06:55

Hi! I'm back!

Haven't had a chance to catch up on everything I've missed since having clever, beautiful, amazing wonderous wee DD. Just got out of the hospital after a bit of an epic labour and hospital stay. Having a few problems actually so if anyone has any insight I'd appreciate it. Please see www.mumsnet.com/Talk/breast_and_bottle_feeding/1864114-Has-my-baby-been-medicalised-into-becoming-a-breast-refuser-And-how-do-I-fix-it
for further details.

juniper Grin I went sailing past my EDD so I feel your pain. It is absolutely the most frustrating thing to hear everyone else's good news and not have any to share.

The FB group seems to be the go to place but personally I prefer to share TMI details on here. I feel much less exposed and vulnerable. I like the FB group for photos and silly nonsense. I'd be up for a postnatal thread once juniper et al have had their bairns.

PinkApple86 · 26/09/2013 09:24

juniper can I join in on this bump jumping please? 41 week's today and going in for a second sweep today. Let's hope baby decides to get outta there this time.

PinkApple86 · 26/09/2013 09:26

Congrats joskar I prob said it on fb but I forget who ppl are in real life Thanks

Peregrin · 26/09/2013 11:16

Congratulations Joskar and I really hope your DD gets back her breastfeeding mojo soon!

MrsMangoBiscuit · 26/09/2013 13:03

Congratulations Joskar. I hope your bf gets sorted out, and I hope your hips are getting better.

fl0b0t · 26/09/2013 16:29

Hi Joksar- I rep;lied on your thread but also wanted to re-link to my thread as I think we had similar experiences:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/breast_and_bottle_feeding/1851035-3-day-old-want-to-BF- might be some useful responses.

If it's any consolation, Robin is now very keen on the boob!!

badguider · 26/09/2013 16:44

I've not been keeping up with this thread as in my sleep deprived haze I can't keep up with everybody at all the different stages.
But I'd be up for a postnatal thread - and particularly in a month or two we'll all be back at a similar stage (2-3wks difference is huge when the babies are only 2-3 weeks old but not so big a difference when they're a couple of months).

Today I'm proud to say I walked 45mins in to town, bought some new (desperately needed) jeans, fed ds in waterstones cafe then walked home again! The only issue was that ds wouldn't lie down in the pram right after feeding but luckily I'd taken the sling so carried him home pushing the empty pram.
Also I'm not sure he got a full feed as I didnt have any cushions to position us ideally and I was trying to avoid flashing too much nipple so I stopped the feed when he started fussing off and on. Still, we can only get better at it :)

fl0b0t · 26/09/2013 17:16

Nice one badguider. We did similar today- My friend came over (the one who is moving far away soon. boo!) and we walked to the pub (about 1.5 miles each way- she even pushed the pram!!) and I did my first public feed (of course just as dinner arrived!). I'd positioned myself facing the corner and he was a little angel (even for his colic drops) so all good!

Cheers ladies. I can say with all sincerity that I would not have managed the last six months without your support. Very few of my close friends have babies and I am so far away from everywhere and everyone that I have felt isolated at times particularly with the SPD preventing me from leaving the house/chair/inside of my own head! Thanks so much everyone.

fl0 I've been reading your thread with interest. I'm feeling more positive that mixed feeding needn't automatically lead to no more boob.

mango the SPD has gone! I would dance for joy but the c-section wound is helluva sore. Jeezo. It never rains but it pours, eh?!

badguider top stuff! I'm super impressed. I can't wait to go outside.

Good luck juniper and pinkapple! Sending you water breaking thoughts.
