Looks like we need another new thread Blush- we've been rather busy!

Up to date (ish) Stats thread here:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/a1694946-September-2013-STATS-THREAD

As previously- Welcome newbies! If anyone wants to join the Facebook group (better for sharing documents and pictures- especially picture of gorgeous babies), please message myself or jennimoo with your real life name and email address and we can add you to the group!

Bring on the irritating texts from family members and best friends to find out whether you've had your babies or not (like you wouldn't tell them.....), more weird and disgusting labour symptoms, more internal examinations than you can shake a stick at, and LOTS OF BABIES!

Can I ask a silly question to those who have now been through it - I'm getting the funny feelings most nights that I initially thought were me reacting to the head moving in my pelvis, but they actually seem to pulse/serge down from low bump until they cause a sort of involuntary pelvic floor tense as they move lower? Tend to feel sick at the same time. Could they be v. early contractions that will come and go for a while? Or as I originally thought - a squirmy baby?

badguider · 05/09/2013 02:36

My baby Watson the right because I had an anterior placenta on the left soon thing I could do about it.
My labour wasn't too long though it did have an early bit without progress but fast once we really got going.

BinarySolo · 05/09/2013 04:43

Hi everyone. I've not posted in aaaaages! My little man will be a week old tomorrow. Actually it's today now!

Whizz, my show was red last time and totally clear this time. Last time my waters broke at the same time, but like a slow puncture but i was only 35+3 so I was on antibiotics until I naturally a week later. This time waters broke 3 days after show and I was induced the next day after nothing happened.

Labour was 6 hours and intensely painful but so worth it as my boy is gorgeous.

I love your name poppetty. Ace word, it's microwave isn't it?

fl0b0t · 05/09/2013 10:36

Oooh purple I've been having something similar. I guess if baby is getting engaged, there will be some unusual feelings and mine have been punctuated by nausea too.....

Would be good to know if they are something to take note of or try to ignore :) they don't really hurt but they are enough to stop me sleeping and seem to make baby kick and its def aligned to when I'm feeling full and/or sick. The embarrassing bit is sometimes it almost feels nice which my hubby laughs at!

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 05/09/2013 11:10

I have a symptom update, stardate 41+2... Mucus (clear) since Monday, tingly boobs Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the usual BH pattern, but a slight slowdown in baby movements. Not to a worrying level, just seems like there finally isn't enough space in there to party. So we added a dtd to the mix this morning, let's see whether there's any notable response...

For those of you with babies already, do you think you can connect to anything you did? Dtd, curry, bouncing about etc?

BinarySolo · 05/09/2013 13:02

If your cervix is ripe then you could try nipple massage. Apparently it needs to be for an hour ( Shock ) a day to really work. But I did it far less and think it helped both times. It stimulates contractions in the same way as breast feeding.

Pineapple - you need to eat the equivalent of 7 fresh pineapples so more likely to get the trots!

Sex - apparently there's something in sperm that start the process but again it's quantity, orgasms are also supposed to start contractions so I guess quality counts too! Wink

PoppettyPing · 05/09/2013 13:37

Binary Thanks! It is indeed microwave. I don't even use one (nor am I Welsh) but I've always loved that word!

Purple I get that too! Must be what fl0b0t says.

PoppettyPing · 05/09/2013 13:40

Oh and congrats on your little boy Binary!

BinarySolo · 05/09/2013 13:50

Thank you! Same here actually, not welsh and not a microwave owner but love that word! I like the welsh for rabbit too which sounds like crooninging. Probably spelt totally differently tho!

badguider · 05/09/2013 14:49

rake - a slow, relaxing professional back and shoulder massage.
I came out blissed out and labour pretty much started right then.

PurplePoppySeed · 05/09/2013 15:31

Thanks fl0 and poppetty :)

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 05/09/2013 17:27

badguider a massage you say... mmmm nice idea. Would you say a stretch and sweep was a sort of massage?! Coz that's what I ended up having after phoning the midwife advice number when I realised I was getting these "BH" contractions every few minutes!

So, let's see whether that kicks anything into gear Wink

BinarySolo · 05/09/2013 17:54

Good luck rake!

kipsonline · 06/09/2013 03:34

Come on baby rake!

flipflump · 06/09/2013 03:38

Good luck rake!! Curry gave me belly ache, dtd was pretty much out the question. Had the odd bit of pineapple. Had a stretch and sweep at 38+1, 2 days later waters broke. Could be a coincidence, I dunno but here we are!

flipflump · 06/09/2013 03:38

Oh and good luck!!!!!! Grin

HettySunshine · 06/09/2013 07:19

Good luck Rake x x x

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 06/09/2013 07:23

Congratulations to all with lovely babies already :) I was awake at 4 (again) because of heartburn. Am now 4 days over. If anyone says " have you not had that baby yet?" again to me today, I am within my rights to kill them dead, aren't I?

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 06/09/2013 07:36

Nothing happened overnight at Rake Towers... Gave bump instructions to have at least a few hours sleep with me to build up our energy for today. Regular BH contractions have started again this morning just like last night. No waters gone so I'm not up against an induction ticking clock at all.

Two c-sections and a broken waters elsewhere in the gang according to fb this morning!

TripleRock · 06/09/2013 08:10

No joy for me either :(

Yesterday, had periody type aches in my lower bump and thighs. Last night in bed, tightenings that were keeping me awake. But took 2 paracetamol, got a few hours kip, and now nothing, nada, zilch.

Sigh, shattered today and DDs been up since 6. Poor DH resorted to the sofa last night and didn't get much sleep so he's knackered too. He's gone off to work. At least DD and I are snuggled up watching Peter Rabbit :)

Readytosettle · 06/09/2013 08:23

michaelcaine I was having that problem...have now stopped eating after 6.30pm and that seems to have put a stop to it.

HettySunshine · 06/09/2013 09:00

Sorry to dive in with my own thing, but my belly button and the surrounding area has gone numb. Is this okay? Nothing hurts or anything but it's a bit weird! Blush

MrsMangoBiscuit · 06/09/2013 10:11

Mine too Hetty, it did it last time round as well. I think it's as our belly gets stretched. Bigger area, same number of nerve ending, so "reception" gets worse. Grin I did get feeling back after last time. I think also the fact that the skin inside our belly button is now covering some of the surface doesn't help. I doubt there were many nerves in that bit to start with.
