Ok, I can't see a May thread in here so I guess I will start one! According to the NHS due date calculator my EDD is actually 30th April but I think that makes me more likely to be having a May baby anyway!

Am feeling very tentative about starting this thread as I had a mc in June and it's very early days for this one but...anyone want to come and chat through these nerve-wracking first few days?

:( Viking

VikingVagine · 11/09/2013 14:41

I'm trying to focus on the positive things. This wasn't a planned pregnancy (copper coil), the timing with regards to work is awful. We still have a fair bit of work to do on the house, which would be put off until later with a baby around. The thing that worries me most is that DH won't want to have another one (he'd support me with this one, but wouldn't actively want another DC iyswim).

Just praying it's not ectopic, that's all I ask!

impatientlywaiting · 11/09/2013 14:50

Viking So sorry to hear it. The waiting around must be awful.

Once you know what is going on and things have sunk in then you should have a proper chat with your partner. He might feel differently after going through this with you.

VikingVagine · 11/09/2013 15:02

He's agreed we will have a serious chat.

Waiting in a room full of women with beautiful big tummies is actually not as hard as I was expecting.

moominleigh94 · 11/09/2013 16:04

Thinking of you viking and thistle

Been out all day today... slightly worried as symptoms are still a bit faint... boobs not as sore, not as much nausea, only getting headaches late at night... hmm Hmm is this normal?

MrsRadders82 · 11/09/2013 16:29

Hello.

I have had a lurk in the shadows and want to say hi!!!
Just found out I am expecting baby number 4, tad surprised but pleased. But feel sooo nervous :-/

Xx

VikingVagine · 11/09/2013 16:30

Definitely not viable. Dr still thinks it might be ectopic so will carry on going to hospital every couple of days until HCG is negative, or the ectopic pregnancy is found.

I wish everyone on here the very best of luck, thank you for all your kind words, it has been a huge comfort as I haven't told anyone but DH IRL.

Thanks
impatientlywaiting · 11/09/2013 16:33

Oh no Viking. It must be awful to know it isn't viable but still not know what is going on.

Good luck with everything. I hope you find out what's happening soon. So sorry this has happened.

Welcome MrsRadders do you know your Estimated due date?

Isean · 11/09/2013 16:42

Hugs Viking Thanks

AliOh · 11/09/2013 16:58

So sorry to hear that Viking big hugs to you.

Moomin my symptoms are all over the place coming and going at the moment too! I have no idea what's normal and what's not but just trying to grin and bear it til I get my appointment with the midwife. Just winding myself up looking up info on the Internet - not the best idea!!!

Welcome MrsRadders and congrats!

Chip86 · 11/09/2013 17:12

thistlelicker · 11/09/2013 17:21

impatientlywaiting · 11/09/2013 17:24

Thistle how are you? Are you still in hospital?

bouncysmiley · 11/09/2013 18:17

viking so sorry. Hugs.

moomin don't worry. I was sick as a dog yesterday and much less so today. Although I have been resting up at home nursing dd who is sick and just seems to want cuddles and props pig!

bouncysmiley · 11/09/2013 18:18

Peppa

Lollywig · 11/09/2013 18:45

Sad to hear about what's happened to Bug and Viking. All the best ladies. Hope things are looking a bit better for Thistle.

My symptoms are boring me! Still just back and stomach aches. No major pain so hopefully nothing to worry about, just twinges and discomfort.

Have decided to bite the bullet and tell my mum! I'm seeing her Friday so will be telling her then. I'm excited as I know she'll be chuffed to bits, I think she's been desperate for me to get cracking with babies for a while! I was going to wait a bit longer in case something goes wrong but it will be lovely to share it with her so gonna go for it and keep hoping for the best.
Also I am seeing three girlfriends on Sat for a night out. As soon as I turn down a glass of wine they'll be on to me. But it will be nice to tell them as they all have kids between 1 and 5 years so I will be able to bug them with lots of questions.

5 plus 2 today...

thistlelicker · 11/09/2013 18:48

My hcg was repeated and it's well over 5000!!

Lollywig · 11/09/2013 18:49

And hello MrsRadders!

Baby no.4, go you! What are you nervous about? Is it pregnancy stuff or the fact that you are going to have four kids to look after!? (That does sound rather... challenging...! But big families are lots of fun, my DH is one of 5 and there is quite literally never a dull moment!)

Lollywig · 11/09/2013 18:51

I'm ashamed to say I have no idea what hcg levels are and if that is good or bad news?? (I am a pg novice with a lot to learnSmile)

impatientlywaiting · 11/09/2013 19:00

Lollywig you can google HCG numbers and get an indication if average levels.

I think with healthy pregnancies the general stat is that the HCG should double within 2 days in the first few weeks (although medically as long as it goes up by 60% I think it's meant to be ok.

Excellent news that your HCG thistle have you been reassured by the hospital that things are ok?

moominleigh94 · 11/09/2013 19:03

Just realised it's Wednesday... which means the midwife was in today... which means she may have sent my letter.... which means potentially maybe ish I might actually get to see a midwife, as opposed to a doctor with judgey eyes and no knowledge of the UK healthcare system, before 12 weeks! I hate living rurally Hmm

impatientlywaiting · 11/09/2013 19:09

Today I was avoiding work, so I have stolen the idea from another antenatal thread created a spreadsheet for our stats.

I think it'll be easier, especially when people are on their phones, as we wont need to copy and paste everyones details whenever someone new joins, or if we need to change our EDDs which i'm guessing once we start having scans will be pretty common.

Talking of scans i've tentatively added a column for scan dates for when we start to have those booked in, and way later down the line we can add in a column for Girls/Boys/Surprises too.

It's a google doc, so all of us can update it (you don't even need to press save, it just saves all changes automatically), and as I said I think that we can update it from phones, and all we will need to do is add the specific info you want instead of copying and pasting everything over.

The link is Mumsnet May-bies Stats Page

As it's a spreadsheet it also makes it a bit easier to work out any of our stats.
Like....

At the moment we have 51 Members,
22 of us are having our first babies,
18 are on baby two
8 of us are having baby number three

There are quite a few of us with the same due dates, but so far 4/5/14 and 5/5/14 are our most exciting days as 5 mumsnetters are due on each day.

impatientlywaiting · 11/09/2013 19:16

Oh and with MrsRadders joining us - we have one of us awaiting baby number 4 too.

Lollywig · 11/09/2013 19:25

Impatiently, you are immense! Good work and thank you x

Isean · 11/09/2013 19:31

impatiently that's brilliant! I love a spreadsheet! Grin
