I have no useful suggestions re: your nipples sinks, sorry.

draf I'm spilling out of my bras now, I'm going to buy some m&s tshirt bras on Tuesday. Thanks for the recommendations everyone.

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 15:26

Oh, and I'm still wearing wired. The band on non wired ones seem to flip back on forth on me, that's why they get sore. But I do make sure they fit well.

Ho hum. The glamour eh?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 10/11/2013 16:06

sinks they could be dry? Have you considered getting some nipple cream to moisturise them?

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 16:22

Don't think so... But I had thought, given the lack of other solutions, I might get some of the nipple balm they appear to advise pre bfing. But already have been slavering on normal moisturiser when I do the bump etc. (and that's agony because they get cold as the moisturiser is absorbed)

This is not a pregnancy gripe I had expected...

FrankelInFoal · 10/11/2013 17:07

Have you tried BioOil Sinks? I'm slathering it on my bump and boobs and it seems to be working so far!

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 17:20

Just using vasaline intensive and johnsons baby oil. I have dry sensitive skin anyway, so have just stuck with what I normally use- although using it a bit more liberally!

Oh well. Have made sure I'm toasty today and nipples have behaved...

In better news, me and ghj are away for a minibreak tomorrow till wed - lakes to a Michelin starred restaurant/hotel. Have packed lots of warm clothes for gentle frosty walks. Can't wait! (We have our own cottage and log burner... Swoon)

FrankelInFoal · 10/11/2013 17:21

Sounds great! I want to get away for a nice weekend before Turnip arrives, but not sure if we'll get a chance Hmm

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 17:27

Could you manage a weekend Frank? I was really keen to do something, and this is actually a re-attempt at our first anniversary plans - we had to cancel at the last minute.

FrankelInFoal · 10/11/2013 17:39

I'd like to, but what with HWHNN's work I can't see us fitting anything this side of Crimbo, and then time starts running a bit short Confused

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 17:45

Of course- I forgot HWHNN worked away in the week. Perhaps a local treat in jan? A really good restaurant or overnight getaway somewhere?

KatAndKit · 10/11/2013 20:53

Lansinoh is great for sore nips. You'll be wanting it for breastfeeding anyway.
id go up a cup size and then put a couple of breast pads between your nipples and your bra. Should warm them up and prevent nipple rubbage. I went up to a g cup by the end of pregnancy and then h in nursing bras. Am only just back to g so dread to think how ridiculous they are going to get!

SinkyMalinks · 10/11/2013 21:11

Thanks. So, f cup bra, lansinoh and breast pads it is!

I always has sympathy for those heavily pregnant in a hot summer. Screw that. This is worse! 20 weeks of freezing winter and painful nips!

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 10/11/2013 21:23

Lanisoh breast pads are lush too, really soft. However I've used washables since Faithlet came along. Loads cheaper and don't have to worry about buying more all the time!

KatAndKit · 11/11/2013 12:43

Good news from me, had scan this morning, showed little 8 week munchkin with a nice heartbeat!

MyNameIsWinkly · 11/11/2013 12:47

Grin congrats kat, great news.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 11/11/2013 12:56

Congratulations Kat! That is wonderful news!

Really sorry about your MIL news, winks. I missed responding to that earlier.

Grateful for the boob and bra chat on here. I seem to have gone up a cup, and had decided I could have some fitting bras after my scan (over two weeks ago) and here I am still picking the eldest and thus most accomodating ones out of the drawer every morning.

I had my first dissolving into tears because I just felt crap episode this weekend. At 10 weeks exactly the thought of taking a train to London was enough to make me hysterical. I SB decided that it would not be worth it and took me home and tucked me into bed, at 9pm.

I am and have been reading, but keeping up and/or replying has just proved a bit too much.

FrankelInFoal · 11/11/2013 13:01

Hurrah for a good scan Kat Grin

Where's Nokks?

evilgiraffe · 11/11/2013 13:17

Excellent news, Kat! There are several of us very close together, I think :)

Flowers

Thanks for bra advice, everyone. I think I'll measure myself, then go to M&S when the weather cheers up later this week and get a couple of t-shirt bras and see how I go. I will mss my pretty colourful lacy affairs though :(

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 11/11/2013 13:50

One of my big motivations for stopping BF is to wear nice undies again! My normal stuff is way too small and I can't see the point in buying nice stuff for what will be a short time now.

Wonderful news Kat! Must be a huge relief! :)

drizz I'm glad SB is taking care of you. We were meant to go to the Baby show in February but I was shattered and having loads of Braxton Hicks so MSB made me have a day at home instead!

FriendofDorothy · 11/11/2013 15:40

Back at work and my right boob is taking on comedy proportions!

I have one nice underwired massive bra which I keep for going out (although I do find the underwires dig in!) and I generally wear my saggy but comfy nursing bras most of the time.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 11/11/2013 16:01

I like the concept of a going-out bra. It's like the going-out top of my uni-days I was a smelly rower and generally wore kit and hoodies, but did dress up occassionally.

Btw dot I've been meaning to ask, how are you? I keep thinking about the mixed year you've had! Also, has the mister picked up some of the slack now you're back at work?

Draf, kat and winks do either of you have symptoms? I thought I had none til SB pointed out the exhaustion/increased sleep... I love the fact that the early scans have all been good :)

Waves at the others.

evilgiraffe · 11/11/2013 16:08

Not much, driz. I am tired and sleeping a lot, and have giant (sometimes painful) boobs, but thankfully no nausea to speak of. Given that I have the weakest stomach ever, this is something of a shock! Just recently I've had the odd cramp, which I guess is womble stretching/moving or some such.

Nokkie73 · 11/11/2013 18:15

Well, tonight Matthew, I shall be forty years old. FORTY. I kid you not. I am basically an idiot so god only knows how this has happened.

twonks very sorry to hear about your MIL. How are you both coping ?

kat congrats on. The wriggly heartbeat !

driz take it easy chick. The early days are knackering and fraught so give yourself a bit of a break. Rest, my child !

I think I should hand out free samples of bio oil (I get jiggy with my c cups each morning with it and it has kept the cracked nips at bay). Tit trauma is not what we need here ladies !

MyNameIsWinkly · 11/11/2013 22:23

Happy birthday norks, you old hag! Grin Are you doing anything nice to celebrate, other than cracking open a nice bottle of gaviscon?

MIL has been scanned today, she has a big cancer-y mass in her womble, they're having the whole lot out tomorrow. She has a system in place for FIL over the next few days and seems positive, so we're not too bad at the moment.

driz I'm pretty much textbook with symptoms. Queasy, vomity, knackered, oily skin, off certain foods, sobbing my eyes out at the drop of a hat, big sore boobs, pretty much the whole shebang. Oh, and I'm farting like a champion. I'm windier than the wind section of the Royal Philharmonic. I've totally abandoned dignity. The gassiness was my first proper symptom actually, it's what made me test.

Nokkie73 · 11/11/2013 22:44

We went for a Chinese with my folks, brother and CASAF. T'was lovely - just got back now. I am also gaseous twonks. Everything gives me the gases. Not so much the bottom gasses but muchos belchy gasses. It is the only birthday in living memory I haven't been absolutely fucking shitfaced. I have to say, as I was being kicked in the foof by the nipper (during the entire meal - food makes it terribly excited) I realised that as sober I was, I couldn't be happier. I know how bloody lucky I am to be diffed.

I really hope it all goes well for your MIL tomorrow twonkytonks. She sounds as though she is trying to keep it all together. X
