I know Draf, it's not something that occurred to me could be an issue hence why I was a bit thrown and wanted to talk to the midwife. I'm all back to normal now, though I did fall asleep for an hour or on the sofa with the car curled up in my lap. I'm wondering if the midwife's suggestion that low BP can be common if you are ill was on the money - I always sleep a lot when I'm unwell.

Nokkie73 · 05/11/2013 13:15

draf I am the same as you - my BP is on the low side of normal. I do like them to keep an eye on it though, as it tends to get overlooked. I use it as an excuse to stuff cake in my fat gob at every opportunity Grin

Good news frank. Put your feet up and watch Homes Under the Hammer or something equally mindless and shite. Try to relax a bit. X

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 05/11/2013 13:19

My BP was in my boots most of my pregnancy. I had to eat little and often and drink loads. I reckon I was having 3-4 litres a day! Thing is low BP can you feel rough and dizzy but doesn't generally do much harm. However high BP is often an inductor of significant problems which is why they keep such a close eye on it. Take it easy Frank, glad the worst seems to have passed.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 05/11/2013 18:46

Woah, antenatal classes, that is a fairly petrifying thought! As is booking in! We're holding off w everything til the next scan, at 10+4... That may be silly, but I really haven't got my head around it.

Good luck for scannage tomorrow, wink!

Low bp might be going on w me, both mum and sister had it badly while diffed and I get really dizzy during my night wees... Luckily not bad for you, but I do still feel knackered and scared most of the time!

MyNameIsWinkly · 05/11/2013 19:03

Another one knackered and scared here driz. At least this time tomorrow we'll have some idea whether this one stands a chance. I'm not feeling wildly confident at this point.

FrankelInFoal · 05/11/2013 19:12

Good luck for the scan Winks, keeping everything crossed for you. How are you feeling in general?

MyNameIsWinkly · 05/11/2013 20:10

Um, I'm mostly ok frank. Can't complain. You feeling better now?

FrankelInFoal · 05/11/2013 20:15

Yes thanks, no recurrences so I'm just going to take it easy and go into work a bit late tomorrow - and take lots of snacks!

Nokkie73 · 05/11/2013 20:38

twonks good luck for tomorrow. What time are you in ? X

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 06/11/2013 07:31

Hope it goes well Twink. I suspect your brain has gone into pessimistic mode as a self-perseveration thing but rooting for all to be well. Will be around for hand holding.

SinkyMalinks · 06/11/2013 08:25

Good luck Winks, we're all thinking of you today.

FrankelInFoal · 06/11/2013 08:37

Another one rooting for you and bean here Winks.

I've decided to take today off work. I've not had a repeat of yesterday, but I do feel quite lethargic - again the "coming down with something" scenario is looking quite likely.

Turnip has been very active this morning - enough kicking for a five-a-side football team! For the first time I saw my bump move as he/she kicked Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 06/11/2013 19:39

Hi all, thank you all so much for the hand holding. Scan this evening put me at 6+3, with a little heartbeat flickering away Grin Grin I thought I couldn't be happier then I went to tesco and discovered you can get kettle chips in multipacks :)

Nokkie73 · 06/11/2013 19:50

BOOM. twonky is having a baybee. Grin

FrankelInFoal · 06/11/2013 19:52

Yay for flickery-heartbeat Winks Grin Have you made your booking in appointment yet?

SinkyMalinks · 06/11/2013 19:56

BOOM indeed!

MyNameIsWinkly · 06/11/2013 19:58

Yes, it's booked for Sunday the 17th, and I should get my 12 week scan date then hopefully.

FrankelInFoal · 06/11/2013 19:59

Excellent, you'll be shocked at how much they grow by 12 weeks Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 06/11/2013 20:03

I am going to allow myself to be just a teeny bit excited now. We may have had an emotional moment looking at little babybee clothes as we went round tesco...

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 06/11/2013 20:35

Aw Twinks I'm welling up for you! :)

evilgiraffe · 06/11/2013 20:38

Hurrah! Excellent, excellent news Grin

Aside from "wow heartbeat" at my scan I was mostly boggled by having WARM JELLY - it's a strange new world Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 06/11/2013 20:46

Warm jelly? Do you mean the stuff they put on your tummy or something edible? Because what she put on my tummy tonight was not warm.

On an aside, I had tidied my pubes in anticipation of a dildocam. Imagine my disappointment when my pants stayed on.

evilgiraffe · 06/11/2013 20:50

I mean the belly stuff for the ultrasound! I've only ever had the "cold as the grave" version before, either externally or dildocamming, so was totally gobsmacked. HOTB was most unimpressed at my apparent shrugging off of the miracle of life in favour of warm jelly Grin I tidied my pubes too, just in case, but no need, hurrah!

SinkyMalinks · 06/11/2013 22:05

Heh, I had the lovely warm jelly as well, but… the sonographer said she had to hide her little warmer thing as health and safety wanted to take it off her!

Booking in is quite soon Winks! All getting real yet?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 07/11/2013 07:13

I had warmed jelly once. I squealed in surprise and was like Oh you've warmed it for me, that's so nice! Winks there's a baybee in your tum tum! :)

I feel like our lives have turned around. We've had massive success with sleep training and Faithlet is learning to self-settle. Yesterday she napped twice in her cot (unimaginable a week ago) and she slept for 11 hours straight, fed at 5.30, put her back down awake, she put herself back to sleep and is still asleep now! I feel amazing for it!
