Argh blardy IOS7, safari refreshes if you look at something else and eats your posts!

jeff good work getting to the doctors, especially not being fobbed off and getting the antibiotics! Do you still have pain and feel ill? I'd be inclined to take them anyway.

Stopping pumping/BF - there doesn't seem to be any NHS advice. My local BF group are lovely but if anyway says about introducing formula they just say Oh that's not necessary/we can't advise on that. Why don't you express/let us show you how to improve your latch?. I am going to stop BF by Christmas. Faithlet faffs on an expressed bottle and if I'm doing 12 hour shifts I'm going to struggle to find time to express (I know the law states they have to provide you with somewhere and time etc etc but I also know the reality!). I'm dropping one feed a day every so often. Initially I had to express just enough to feel comfy (not the whole feed - defeats the purpose!).

With you, I would pick a feed to start with a gradually cut down, ideally one feed a day/week but that might be drawing it out. As usual kellymom is your best point of info!

MsJupiterJones · 08/10/2013 08:36

Jeff obviously I have no medical qualifications but I was told not to take decongestants when bf as it can dry up your milk - maybe worth getting some Sudafed?

I did yoga from 16wks btw, most people seemed to join around that point although some later. It was a good mix and I'm still in touch with a couple of them.

Ginfox · 09/10/2013 12:23

Morning Hags. Just back from EPC, following yet another bleed on Monday night. All is well - baby fine and velcro still holding - but this is getting a bit much. Especially as they can't tell me when (or even if) this separation problem would cease to be a problem. We are past the 12wk mark, so overall chance of mishap much lower. Fingers remaining crossed, and I just hope work continue to be as sympathetic as they have been so far, as this could go on for several more months.

How is everyone? Hope you're ok Jeff, and broken boob is on the mend.

FrankelInFoal · 09/10/2013 12:59

Gin sorry you are still suffering with bleeding. As you say though at least the 12w milestone gives some reassurance. Hope it all calms down from here for you.

I'm 19+1 today with 20w scan next Tuesday. Not much to report in my world, all seems quiet and well!

JethroTull · 09/10/2013 17:52

Gin I hope things improve for you soon. Must be v stressful. Glad your work are being supportive.

Mastitis is back. Started taking anti biotics today. Sleepless night last night - thank god for my mum coming round today, I've slept for a couple of hours on the sofa.

HadALittleFaith · 10/10/2013 12:23

gin what a nightmare. Are you nervous to go public? I hope it settles soon.

Jeff bless you I hope it clears up. Having your Mum with you should be a help.

I have been invited into the inner sanctum, my friend's NCT group! Off for coffee in a minute..ooh!

JethroTull · 10/10/2013 19:54

Faith how was the NCT group coffee?

Antibiotics have started to work & I'm feeling much better. Had hosp appt today for MiniJeff's jaundice - 3 hours at the hosp for a 20 min blood test. Anyway good news is the jaundice levels are nothing to worry about Grin

HadALittleFaith · 10/10/2013 22:24

It was vairy naice. They are a lovely bunch, not competitive and cos Faithlet is two months older it's all What age sid she start doing x?

I'm really glad you're starting to feel better jeff. Great news about the jaundice.

Well we've had a nightmare of an afternoon. Faithlet puked and there was blood in it Confused. Ended up in hospital this evening getting her checked over. She seems fine - got phone number to call if any further episodes. Course the lack of bedtime meant she was hyper, only settled her at 10. Thank goodness she's ok though :) seems to have been a one off.

Ginfox · 11/10/2013 12:42

Yay for feeling better Jeff!

Have only told people on a need-to-know basis so far Faif. Haven't even told my bestie, cos I don't want to tell her good news one night and bad news the next (also suspect I might break down a bit if she's mega nice to me, which she will be...). My Dad and sister don't know about all the scares, because they wouldn't really know what to do with the info IYSWIM. Not being patronising, but they have no frame of ref for this. So only my Mum and a few people at work know what's been going on.

Hope miniFaif is ok (although by the sounds of it she was fine all along and just freaking you out). We had similar experience bringing miniFox home from hospital on day 1. She suddenly vommed up a gallon lot of red blood. We were still in the carpark, so ran back inside to get help. Turned out I had a badly cracked nipple, and the nurse who checked her over reckoned she'd been drinking my blood. Not a great start to life as a parent!

pinkr · 12/10/2013 09:45

Morning all! Little pink has started giving proper smiles...cue me and Mr df leaning over the cot, changing mat etc like idiots making all sorts of noises and pulling faces to get a response. Blooming lovely it is! !
On a more worrying note I have a sore throat and slightly running nose...am terrified she'll get it and not be able to feed easily etc particularly as we're now getting more settled etc..in fact she hardly cried at all yesterday so I'm scared we'll get a fussy and unhappy baby if she g gets it.

JethroTull · 12/10/2013 10:09

Ahhh how old is she now Pink? MiniJeff only sleeps, cries & eats at the moment SmileSmileSmile

My battle with my boobs continues. How the hell am I ever going to move to FF? If I try to reduce what I'm expressing I get mastitis. If I carry on expressing normally my milk will never dry up. It's a vicious circle. Anyway, am going to try & make it out the house today.....

pinkr · 12/10/2013 10:56

She's seven Week tomorrow! Can't believe it!
Oh the drying up sounds a nightmare...that's something no one has ever mentioned or explained!

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 12/10/2013 17:40

(Hello, it's me, Faif, with a nc!)

Pink I had d&v when Faithlet was the same age and she didn't get it. She may have some immunity.

jeff I'd ask your HV to visit to come up with a clear plan. Have you tried expressing for slightly less time - like 13 minutes instead of 15?

pinkr · 12/10/2013 18:40

Fingers crossed...I've bought calpol nasal spray just in case!
She's been smiling lots more today...I never realised when pregnant how much total love and devotion you could feel towards them, mr df is totally smitten too...its def special! My sister visited today and we had a lovely time out for lunch etc. I'm glad feeding in public doesn't bother me as we were sat in the window on a very busy street. What was odd was it was a pupil who was waiting on us...he looked red in the face for sure. He's left school now so I suppose its not totally embarrassing for him!

Oops, thread slipped off my Threads I'm On. How's everyone doing today?

Has little pink managed to avoid the Kirby pinkr?

How was your weekend Jeff? Hope the antibiotics are doing their thing.

20 weeks tomorrow, how the hell did I get to be halfway there?! Shock Scan is at 2pm tomorrow, so having a few wobbles about that now Hmm

FrankelInFoal · 14/10/2013 10:42

WTF? "Kirby" was supposed to be lurgy Hmm

SinkyMalinks · 14/10/2013 11:52

Good luck tomorrow Frank. Sure all will be fine.

Am 18 weeks and started to feel definite movement! Some mental activity after swimming on Saturday, which was weird!

First outing as a preggers over the weekend- a wedding - had lots of people I've never met telling me I'm radiant and blooming Hmm. I felt like a whale...

pinkr · 14/10/2013 18:58

Haha I was asking mr df what Kirby was slang for down south! Yes I seem to have held it at bay for now...she's got some mucus bit not much! We have been struggling with reflux however...last night was awful and she was back in bed with me for the first time in three Weeks!

FrankelInFoal · 14/10/2013 21:28

Anyone heard from Noks lately?

FrankelInFoal · 15/10/2013 08:52

Blimey, we've now got 3 new grads to join us! Grin

FrankelInFoal · 15/10/2013 08:57

Actually, that should be 4 new grads Shock

SinkyMalinks · 15/10/2013 10:26

What? I know driz and draf. Who else??

FrankelInFoal · 15/10/2013 10:49

Kat has just found out she's diffed with number 2, and there was the newbie BESH who got her BFP a few days after joining, though she's not been about much.

SinkyMalinks · 15/10/2013 10:55

So we need to lure them across, but I'm guessing it's early days for any of them to want to come here..

Ginfox · 15/10/2013 12:49

Yay for another cluster-diff!

Good luck for this arvo Frank.

Just back from 12wk scan - all good, NF 1.3mm, separation no worse than before. Feeling a lot more positive, and it was nice to have a "normal" antenatal appointment instead of an emergency one. Am MNing working from home for rest of today :)
