Hurrah for a good scan Gin

Just back from 20wk scan, everything exactly as it should be Grin We opted not to find out the sex and I didn't notice anything obvious on the scan - not that I know what I'm looking for!

FriendofDorothy · 15/10/2013 16:17

I was hoping that we might have had a surprise diffment this moth (would have been tough to manage in some ways) but the droid made an appearance this morning.

FrankelInFoal · 15/10/2013 17:32

Sorry to hear that Dor.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 15/10/2013 19:32

Boo to the droid dor. It picks it's timing, doesn't it? Would be a head spinner to be diffed right now though.

Delighted to hear the good scan news gin and frank. Frank your dates are the same as my sister! She had her 20 week scan yesterday. I'm getting another nephew!

How are the boobs jeff?

JethroTull · 15/10/2013 20:53

One boob is working well - still expressing 3-4 times a day, 100mls each time. Other boob (the one that had mastitis) has given up - no milk left. Weird.

MiniJeff is definitely looking chubbier Grin

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 16/10/2013 08:41

That's great news jeff. Sorry one boob has given up but sounds like you've found a balance for now and at least you're not spending all your life expressing now.

Faithlet was awake from 12.40-3.30. Not sure what the problem was, maybe reflux. Got new meds to start today so we'll see how she goes.

KatAndKit · 16/10/2013 09:40

Hey shlaags! Here i am with the fastest diff ever. First month, thought i had missed the egg but poas Sunday as droid was late. Clearblue says i am up the duff. Annoyingly i had a small bleed but i always seem to get that, even in the pregnancy i didn't miscarry.

cautiously hopeful at the moment. Ive had two prior miscarriages and have something weird up with my blood. I have my injections now and am just waiting to hear from obs & gynae about when i can get a scan.

MsJupiterJones · 16/10/2013 10:08

Jeff it sounds like you are doing fantastically. I had one good breast and one rubbish one, never got more than a few mls from it. I have forgiven it though. Expressing is tough so well bloody done.

Kat hello and congratulations! Really nice to hear of magical future instadiffs, gives me hope for next time.

I am on CD33 and feeling a bit crappy so droid imminent I think. No ov signs this month. Not ttc till next year but tracking the basics to have an idea of where I am. On v strict low carb diet (lost 1st8lbs so far) so that may be why but want to be healthy weight before trying again so worth it hopefully.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 16/10/2013 10:51

Ar

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 16/10/2013 10:51

Argh

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 16/10/2013 10:54

What the heck is going on?! One post eaten, then bizarre posting before I pressed anything.

Right - welcome back to the PESH fold Kat. Congratulations on the rapid diffment :)

Hope it's not too bad when droid arrives joops. Well done on the weight. I'm fatter now than after I dropped Confused

FriendofDorothy · 16/10/2013 22:45

I got a PM today to say that I have been nominated for a Mumsnet Christmas gift.

Such a surprise. It made me cry, but then again most things have made me cry today!

Today has been difficult.

pinkr · 17/10/2013 02:26

Morning! Or middle of the night!
Well done with the boob Jeff! You've done well and mini Jeff is obviously thriving.
Welcome Kat!
Well I think the cold that was threatening has arrived. Eek.
Baby pink has been having serious evening meltdowns...she screams and cries like we're murdering her. She's not wet, or hungry, indeed its the first time she's ever point blank refused boob. She'll calm down in a bath etc and then start up again...eventually I put her on and she took it, looked at her light show happily for an hour and then she went to sleep. It isn't related yup feeds

pinkr · 17/10/2013 02:31

Oops...so I'm at a loss...or evenings before were officially idyllic before, now I'm standing up rocking which seems to work or sitting in the bedroom... Its awful really and takes a few hours each night. Of it weren't for the fact she comes out of it so quickly is be really worried. I wonder if its just evening crany...she gets worse if I try to take her to the bedroom or sit in a darkened room but equally she doesn't like cuddles in a lit room, or play on mat etc.

FrankelInFoal · 17/10/2013 06:40

Oh Dor I get that that would be emotional (((hugs)))

Pinkr, I am absolutely no help at all, but sounds like you are best off just doing whatever you need to to get through this stage. Might it be a growth spurt too? I keep reading about sleep regression at certain points due to growth spurts

Ginfox · 17/10/2013 07:54

Dor how lovely to be nominated! Hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Pinkr, we had a few nights like this when foxcub was a similar age to minipink (I think). Still no idea what was wrong, but I was inclined to put it down to teething - it's the only time she ever refuses boob.

Jeff I have only ever had one operational boob, and am still feeding foxcub (at bedtime only). The only thing is I was seriously lop-sided when engorged, so padded up the other side a bit.

After the happy feeling of having a "normal" antenatal apt, I spent Monday eve bleeding quite heavily. But all seems ok again now, and I'm getting used to the fact that this will probably continue for some time yet. Can't wait til I can feel tinyfox moving as that will reassure me (a bit).

FrankelInFoal · 17/10/2013 07:58

Gin I'm sorry you're still riding the rollercoaster, do you get extra scans to make sure everything is ok?

I think I might have felt a kick last night Grin I had my hand on my belly and felt a little "pop" three times in the same spot. Of course it might have been wind, but I'm going with kick until proved otherwise!

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 17/10/2013 08:00

Dor you so deserve it! I got nominated last year, I was so touched!

Pink my sympathies. How old is miniPink?

Bless you gin I hope it stops soon. Hopefully you'll feel the wriggles sooner given that it's your second.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 17/10/2013 08:02

Crossed posts Frank. How exciting! I felt like I was being tickled on the inside to start with! :)

SinkyMalinks · 17/10/2013 08:37

Poor oh gin- sounds horribly stressful.

And Pinkr, I have no practical advice, but I seem to have regular 3-5 am insomnia, so post here and I'll keep you company on the loooong nights.

Frank- it's weird isn't it?! I can definitely make out a body ( my bump is bigger and harder on that side) and get little twitches on the other side. Was lots of kicking at about 4am this morning, which made being awake totally bearable! Do you swim? Seriously, that seemed to totally set the bump off and now I know what to "feel" for!

pinkr · 17/10/2013 09:31

thanks hags for all the advice! Teething at 7 Weeks? Its it likely? oh I hope not! !
frank how exciting to feel kicks! ! I remember the excitement and the wonder
gin hope the bleeding settles soon!
sinks ill pop in in the early hours! Taking the internet keeps me awake when feeding!

OP posts:
Ginfox · 17/10/2013 10:04

I don't mean actually cutting teeth Pinky, but even if they're starting to move I guess it might be sore. As I said, it's the only thing that's ever put the cub off feeding/suckling, so with hindsight I wondered if that might be it. She never seemed colicky, or any other obvious reason for screaming.

pinkr · 17/10/2013 18:18

Ah! Turns out i'm pretty clueless regarding babies and the like... I've not researched past the initial stuff, I have no idea about when they talk, walk, etc!

OP posts:
pinkr · 18/10/2013 03:24

So sinks you been buying lots of baby things yet? !

OP posts:
SinkyMalinks · 18/10/2013 06:50

Sorry- I was awake from 3.30, but have had the lovely development of spending it vomiting. Naice. GHJ has given me a stinking cold- so I'm snotty and coughing, have pulled a muscle in my side which is agony (and keeps scaring me as it's bump pain...) and as of yesterday, have been vomiting.

This pregnancy malarkey is glamourous, no?

How was last night Pinkr? Afraid I don't even have any purchases to distract you with. After 20 weeks scan (10 days. Not that I'm counting) we may consider looking!
