Hello ladies!

How are you all doing?

Am shattered, feel sick all the time, seem to have bad short term memory loss but apart from that all is well!

Feeling more daunted about the whole prospect of baby no 3 as will have massive impact on the household, but am sure we will all survive, even the stroppy DC!

JK10 · 21/07/2013 00:19

I'm in Bromley so south of London, we all get sent to kings for the 12 week scan. They are ridiculously thorough as its a research hospital, so a scan that should take 10 mins, u actually end up there for a good few hrs! Last time I had to walk on a treadmill, they measured my body far content, heart rate, bloods, nucheal scan, internal scanning to look st the size and shape of womb. All sorts! I came home exhausted! They seem to be looking at different things each time I've been there for scans, but all good if it helps I guess.

bionic you'll manage just fine, once u have 2, the 3rd will just fit in! They kinda have to! And the slightly older ones will be fetching nappys and wet wipes for u!!

Has everyone started using the stretch mark creams yet? I'm slapping it in morn and night!! Hope everyone sleeps well and feels a bit better tomorrow! (myself included!)

AndieDisestablishment · 21/07/2013 06:41

All this talk of hospitals has made me really anxious for an uncomplicated pregnancy, otherwise I'll have to go to the hospital I work at. I don't want midwives I work with looking at my foof!! I'm hoping for another home birth or the tiny birthing centre at the nice hospital but the criteria is really strict.

TWinklyLittleStar · 21/07/2013 06:48

I'll be at Princess Alexandra, Harlow one way or another. They have a labour ward and a midwife led centre on site apparently.

I don't know if it would be the same for birth but I was offered a choice of PAH, Chase Farm or North Middlesex for fertility treatment. PAH was a no brainer for me.

bionic the memory loss! Bloody hell! On Friday I forgot the pin for my debit card - the same pin I've had for 14 years! I also forgot to turn the gas off yesterday after making pancakes, and getting cash from an atm (when I finally remembered my pin) was just beyond me. Fun and games eh :)

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/07/2013 07:28

I went to a family BBQ last night. We were talkin about our holiday next week, we are going to the Lake District with B and Sil. They are adamant they want me to go hill walking, BIL mentioned Skiddaw! SIL says I MUST do CatBells! I'm going to have to stamp my foot and tell them aren't I! I saw CatBells on TV last week, I might possibly manage it, but oh dear! Confused
I've decided that if I have to walk, they all have to come sailing! SIL didn't look best pleased, but fair exchange and all that! Grin
I managed to eat a couple of well done sausages at the BBQ, and when I got home I felt dreadful! I don't feel too bright this morning either! Confused

RugbyWidow7 · 21/07/2013 07:29

Bionic and twinkly, my memory is shot too. I can't remember words and dh keeps laughing at me as I'm getting everything wrong. I told a friend we were thinking of going to north Devon next week - I of course meant north Norfolk! She was totally bemused by me, as I haven't told her. This is going to be a long 5 weeks!

Soured, so glad you had a good scan. Phew! Hope you're feeling better.
Juicy, how are you, I hope you're feeling better too?!

The exhaustion is killing me. I'm totally useless for large parts of the days and am forever snapping at dh. Not great for his week off work. He thinks I'm a miserable cow at the moment, which I mainly am. I just can't seem to catch up the sleep in the daytime - the smallest noise disturbs me. Ds seems to be back to getting up at 6am again at the mo, and that extra hour makes such a differnece at the mo. Hoping to go to my parents today / tomo so they can wait on me hand and foot look after me a bit. Wink

My Mw app was cancelled last week so I have a booking in app this Fri at the hospital.

x0gawjus0x · 21/07/2013 07:43

Hello ladies ive got a 9 week scan on Friday at 8.50 :) its taken us 3 years to get a bfp so im praying praying praaaying everything will be okay!!! im so nervous! Have had quite an easy few weeks, sore boobs and very tired that's about it. Also some pulling pains/feelings in my belly.. especially when I stretch! :D I hope to god I see a little tiny heart beating away! xx

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 21/07/2013 09:06

Jbrd, how cool! You're due 2 weeks after me but we may end up there together!

JK10 · 21/07/2013 09:18

andie I'm hoping for a home birth too, maybe a water birth but those pools are soooo expensive! Did u have a birthing pool?

When I went for dinner with my ds mums from sch, they were asking what teacher my dd has! I sat there saying its mrs uh, um, uh, I can't seem to remember! They were all staring at me then at each other as if to say ' is she for real!' very embarassing! About 10 mins later after the conversation had changed, I suddenly blurt out her name! Ooops!

Coolhand · 21/07/2013 09:31

Hope all okay JFS - know you were having a bit of a wobble the other day.

I am shattered! DS woke at 3.40 - he's totally congested and doesn't understand how to blow his nose yet! Couldn't get him back over so we ended up being up to 6.25, he went back down for an hour, then up again. I'm trying to catch up now but can't get back to sleep. So annoying

Rockchick1984 · 21/07/2013 09:31

Good luck for your scan Gaw

Andie and JK I'm hoping for a home water birth too. JK generally the birth pools retain their value pretty well so apparently can sell them on for similar to what you paid. My midwife said I could hire one from them if I wanted, need to look into both options a bit closer to the time.

Went out for an Indian last night - only had a Korma and its really not agreed with me Sad so think I'm going to have to avoid it, at least for first trimester!

Lambchop14 · 21/07/2013 09:35

Listening to your chat on hospitals and it sounds like your all based in England. Is anyone in Scotland or an I the only one? I will probably give birth in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Must remember to log on to the computer today and put in my stats (thinking out loud) lol

OnTheRunFromTheAcademe · 21/07/2013 09:48

andie jk rock I had a homebirth with ds and loved it. It had its challenges but was on the whole straightforward and we are definitely planning to do it the same way again.

We borrowed a pool from our local homebirth network (Leeds). They lend them out for free and you just have to buy a liner (£25 iirc). It might be worth asking around to see if there's a similar scheme where you live - I think they're quite common. There's a fb group called homebirthers and hopefuls, you might find info there.

MTBMummy · 21/07/2013 09:51

Morning all, I hope everyone is enjoying the slightly cooler weather.

I'm outside of London, between reading and Oxford, so will be nominating JR in Oxford, I had DD there and was amazed at how lovely the staff were, compared to tales from friends who had opted to go to RBH.

Is anyone else suffering with dizziness? Every single time I stand up I have to sit down immediately. Can't recall if this is normal or not, thankfully seeing my GP on Wednesday and will raise it then ( although my appointment is at 720am!!! - I just hope I'm awake enough to remember what I want to ask)

rosyryan · 21/07/2013 10:47

I'm smiling this morning because I am feeling distinctly queasy. Hooray for the onset of morning sickness! Grin

I'm in North London so will be going to the Whittington. I've heard good things about it, so hoping it will be ok. I may well plump for an ELCS after GD, a failed induction and a EMCS last time. Will make that decision nearer the time.

My underwear is cutting me in half today so I'm thinking that I might have popped too! Grin

How are you feeling this morning Sour?

Lyra I've got wonky boobs as well. You can't really tell when I'm not upduffed. I've been getting really stabby pains in the larger boob - hoping that is a short-lived symptom!

Laughing at Twinks' shop meltdown. In a sympathetic way of course Wink

RugbyWidow7 · 21/07/2013 10:47

MTb, I have the dizziness pretty badly too. I've started taking a liquid iron supp a friend recommended, so I'll report back in a few days as to whether its helping. Also trying to eat lots of red meat but no luck so far.Confused I read something this morning about it being due to the increased blood in your body in pregnancy...

I'm going to the Lister hospital in Stevenage as we're btw London and stevenage. Went I welwyn last time, but the maternity unit has now closed Sad quite looking forward to seeing it though as the Lister in brand new.

rosyryan · 21/07/2013 10:50

MTB It sounds like low blood pressure to me - its really common in pregnancy. Definitely mention it. I don't think they can do much about it but its worth keeping an eye on.

Coolhand · 21/07/2013 12:11

MTB a bit of dizziness here too but not anywhere near as bad you're experiencing. It doesn't happen every time I get up but it has happened quite a few times. I'm inclined to low bp anyway.

I don't suppose anyone in NI? Think I was the only one on my last thread as well. I'll be going to RVH. Hoping for a VBAC - have started researching it and a bit [hmmm] about the cfm - being active during my labour is very important to me. Would have loved to try water birth but think that's ruled out. Anyway, will deal with all that at a later stage - need a date for my scan first!

babybear9 · 21/07/2013 14:07

Had a private scan this morning. No reason other than a bit of reassurance / impatience on my part! So, so glad we did. It was amazing. Saw / heard bean on ultrasound and then did an internal one to see more clearly. Everything was exactly as it should be. I know anything can still happen so i'll still be worrying until the next one, but it was such a special moment hearing the heartbeat - blubbed the whole way through!

MTBMummy · 21/07/2013 14:14

coolhand I'm also considering vbac and feeling mug the same as you. The main thing against another CS is here they insist in electives taking place no later than 38 weeks, an I'd worry about short changing bean of 2 week growth, especially as DD was 15 days late.

Great news babybear - I'm so tempted to have an early one for exactly that reason.

LittleMachine · 21/07/2013 14:16

Lovely babybear! How many weeks are you? Glad everything was ok.

I am not hurraying morning sickness Hyperemesis here I come.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/07/2013 14:25

Is there room for another member in here??? Grin

I got my BFP yesterday - I have actually taken 10 tests just to make sure!!!!

LyraSilvertongue · 21/07/2013 14:49

I had a vbac with ds2 and it wasn't a good experience. Will definitely have an elcs with this one.

rosyryan · 21/07/2013 14:50

Aww Babybear that's lovely news. I would have blubbed too Grin

Congratulations Writer! Have you worked out your due date yet? We must be getting to the very end of March now.

Sorry Little that was a bit insensitive of me. Its such a relief to feel that things are developing a bit though. No nausea at all is always a bit worrying, even though its perfectly normal for loads of women.

rosyryan · 21/07/2013 14:52

Oh, in what way Lyra? Without prying/ frightening people who are going to go for one? Grin I swing wildly between wanting to try for one and wanting to keep my foof intact, seeing as I already have the cs scar, the saggy boobs, the overhang and the stretchmarks which seems like quite enough damage already!
