MTB, I'm sorry you're wobbling, lovely. Dates of sadness are just that and there is no pattern to these things. This is a brand new pregnancy so try to be positive Thanks

IceNoSlice · 30/07/2013 19:25

Hi folks. Sorry to read about losses Flowers

Re: sickness. I don't have any at the moment (did a few weeks ago) but I am constantly hungry and need to graze. I was in town today and had to, HAD TO, have a Greggs pasty I had two Blush

rescoonetwothree · 30/07/2013 19:45

As everyone's said 8 weeks and a heartbeat doesn't leave much difference in the stats from 12 weeks - I was surprised when I saw that (and also feel three stone lighter since finding out!)

Can't remember who was asking but I haven't had actual vomiting, just feeling seasick sort of nauseous!

Have we got anyone with scans coming up this week?

MummyPig24 · 30/07/2013 19:53

JBrd you just reminded me I forgot to get peppermint tea in tesco today.

This is my 3rd and I feel like I look 6 months pregnant already! I'm so bloated and nauseous and for gods sake I forgot to buy rennies!

PramelaAndherson · 30/07/2013 19:59

Ice, Greggs is an utter delight - pregnant or not. I can't stand Greggs snobs, they make me want to poke them in the eye with a sausage roll. In fact, fuck Jane Austin, they should've stuck a sausage & bean pasty on the new ten pound note

IceNoSlice · 30/07/2013 20:06

Pramela one of the was a sausage and bean one. It was delicious.

I have no issue with Greggs except that I was on a major health kick before my BFP and eating 1200 calories a day. Two Greggs pasties = over 800 calories. Eeeek!

lumpylumps · 30/07/2013 20:21

Wow, thanks for the 8 week stats, I actually feel a bit excited now. Not because of any previous mc, just because I'm a natural born worried.

Is anyone else struggling to catch their breath??? The only way I a really fill my lungs is by yawning. I know that sounds really odd but I don't know if it's pregnancy related or not. I have no history of asthma or anything like that!!!

MTBMummy · 30/07/2013 20:43

Thanks Pram, meeting went ahead with no issues - it's funny what sets me off these days.

I'm in number 2 too and I swear I look 3 months, I definitely have a round bump, I'm hoping its water retention and not my body giving up already. I'd only just gotten back to a shape I was happy with, and was also living on 1200 calories a day, now I'm constantly hungry and while I'm eating healthily I'm easily on 2000 calories a day.

Not helped by my lovely DP who after hearing I'd had a rough day bought me a tub of Ben and Kerry's phish food - I love him a little bit more

April13 · 30/07/2013 21:10

Hey all, had my private scan tonight. Pleased tobsayvthere is a baby who is measuring bang on what I thought with a heartbeat...she said she saw a sac, yolk sac and foetal pole this means nothin to me??? Help
Unfortunately she also told me that the pregnancy had started as a twin pregnancy but the second sac was empty. I really don't know how I feel to be honest. Can't stop crying, but know I should be happy. Just completely worried now. Thy gave me a report; not sure if I should call my EPU?

MummyPig24 · 30/07/2013 21:40

April good news one baby is doing well but I am sorry about the other.

I'm watching One Born Every Minute. Brings back memories! I watched it whilst heavily pregnant the last time. I'm excited to do it all again, just hoping it will be nice and quick. Painless too would be great but that ain't gonna happen!!

IceNoSlice · 30/07/2013 21:48

April I have no source for this but I believe it is really common (well a lot more than you'd think) to start with twins then lose one really early. Just most people never know, as by the 12 week scan there is nothing to see. I heard that somewhere.

Still, I'm sure it is hard to get your head round. Happy at seeing your healthy one, sadness at what could have been? But nature has it's own rules, reasons and what have you.

IceNoSlice · 30/07/2013 21:52

Sorry I was trying to be sympathetic because I am sure it is a horrible mixture of emotions. But reading back my last post, it doesn't come over quite how I intended it to. How about I just offer some Flowers

traceyjane1972 · 30/07/2013 21:52

Hi all. I am new to mumsnet and a bit confused on threads being 'full'? I am 40 and expecting my 3rd child is due March 2014 (still very early days) is there a group I can join? how does this work so I can keep in contact with people in same time frame to compare notes and exchange highs and lows?

IceNoSlice · 30/07/2013 21:55

traceyjane you're in the right place, welcome!

Threads fill up when they reach 1000 posts because they become too big to load quickly on most people's laptops/iPads/mobiles. So most regular groups (eg TTC, antenatal etc) start a new thread when they get near 1000 and post a link to the new thread. HTH.

PramelaAndherson · 30/07/2013 22:08

I would like to echo, Ice's post, April. I am sorry for the loss of one of your twins.

Tracey, welcome and stick around, we are all at the same stage.

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 30/07/2013 22:09

Shall we try and link previous threads in the op or just keep it as a link to the stats thread?

How are we all tonight? Sorry to hear that so many of us are having such rough times at the start, reassuring about the 8 week thing though. That's taken a huge weight off my mind.

I'm sick of bleeding now. It's more annoying than a period, at least that only lasts a couple of days to a week and you know it's gonna end!

I keep having melt downs at work. They're trying to help but in all honesty I need to change teams and there is no scope to do so Sad going to talk to the midwife on Thursday about stress management.

It's been 9 years since my last booking in appointment, how long do they last when they come to your home?

traceyjane1972 · 30/07/2013 22:16

Thank you icenoslice ps what does HTH mean?
Sorry April.
Hi Souredstoneshasasouredpebble I have my first booking in appointment for about 9 years on Friday the first is an hour long.

Does anyone know when the first scan will be?

traceyjane1972 · 30/07/2013 22:17

oh and thank you Pamela andherson
How do I tag too? lol

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 30/07/2013 22:18

My dating scan is at 12 weeks. I've had two dildocam scans at the EPU due to bleeding. 12 weeks is normal though.

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 30/07/2013 22:18

You put a * either side of the word you want to embolden

LyraSilvertongue · 30/07/2013 22:19

Welcome Tracey. This thread is exactly what you're looking for. We're all due in March (I know it's already been said but I thought I'd say it again anyway Grin

I'm suddenly feeling sick right now. Think I need to go and vom. Brb...

MummyPig24 · 30/07/2013 22:27

Hi Tracey!

Soured I totally forgot that booking in was an hour long. I was thinking god this is taking a while then I spotted on the mws pc my name and "1hour booking appointment". So many forms to fill in! Then pee to test, blood to take, blood pressure, height, weight. So many questions. At least it's all done now and when I next see her at 16 weeks I will hear baby's heartbeat.

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 30/07/2013 22:30

Oh great big hairy balls with chocolate on top.

Dh is going to a funeral of someone he doesnt even know (dont ask) and unlikely to be home in time to speak with her (his first baby and he's been to no appointments)

I'm in no mood to talk to someone for an hour without a distraction. Bugger.

Souredstoneshasasouredpebble · 30/07/2013 22:30

Still. At least it's time away from work. Must look at the positives!

Writerwannabe83 · 30/07/2013 22:31

Can I ask if routine 12 week scans are done via dildocam or is the abdominal scan still the preferred method??
