Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LyraSilvertongue · 30/07/2013 13:18

Ooh, that's good to know. I saw my bean's heartbeat a week ago at about 8 weeks (doc said he/she was measuring 8 weeks and a few days but LMP says 8 weeks).

So I'm now 9 weeks and a random number of days. I'm hoping they can pin it down more accurately at my next scan.

Beccadugs · 30/07/2013 13:32

Yes, even with bleeding there is a 98% chance of a successful outcome if you have a heart beat at 8 weeks... I'm clinging to this statistic!

Coolhand · 30/07/2013 13:42

Oh Baldrick got my combined booking in/scan for 15th August today as well! I make it that I will be 11+4 as well (I think - I'm always getting it wrong).

LittleMachine · 30/07/2013 14:08

Just updating about my scan yesterday, all was fine, saw a lovely strong heartbeat. Dated at 7 weeks today, so my edd is now 18th March. That means I found out at just 3+1.
Longest pregnancy ever. I was so relieved. Still really sick here, but at least I'm off work.

rosyryan · 30/07/2013 14:42

Those are really encouraging stats. We need a bit of hope after all the horrible and sad news this thread has had recently. Thinking of all of those who have lost their little ones Thanks

Little I'm glad your scan went well. I found out at 3+3 - it doesn't half make it drag!

Still only nauseous here with no puking. I am NOT going to start obsessing over whether this is a bad sign

LyraSilvertongue · 30/07/2013 14:47

Rosy, I had no sickness of any kind with DS1 and only a bit of nausea with DS2. So just count yourself lucky that you're not puking Wink

FoxMulder · 30/07/2013 15:00

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow and I've heard that I'll probably be sent for an early dating scan as I had a mc last month (and got upduffed right away again). But - I know when I ov'd, so that makes my dates pretty certain, doesn't it? Should I keep this information to myself?

MTBMummy · 30/07/2013 15:01

I'm having a stupid stress out now, I have a meeting with a vendor which happens to be the same vendor I met with when my last miscarriage started - I know it's stupid, but I can't help but have a small wobble over it

JBrd · 30/07/2013 15:04

Little Great news about your scan, what a relief! I also found out very early, mainly because I'd been watching my ovulation patterns like a hawk...

rosy No sickness or puking here, and I am also worried this is a bad sign. I was sick as a dog 24/7 with DS at this stage.
But Lyra is right, every pg is different!

However, I have been feeling very bleurgh all day today Grin

FoxMulder · 30/07/2013 15:14

Ha! It's funny seeing people be so happy about feeling so sick.

eln77 · 30/07/2013 15:31

hello everyone!

can I join in? found out just over a week ago that i'm preggers! I think i'm around 5+5 at the moment although i'm still waiting to get confirmed at the doctors! I've done numerous tests and they're all positive but i'm really struggling to get in to see doctors. ended up in my sobbing on the phone to them today! hopefully will get in tomorrow though!

this is my first baby so its all a new experience for me... have virtually no symptoms at all which is a little disconcerting!

x

eln77 · 30/07/2013 15:32

forgot to add i'm due 29th march although this is only from my calculations! x

LyraSilvertongue · 30/07/2013 15:53

Welcome, eln Smile

Don't stress too much about seeing the doc. They don't really do anything if you've done a test yourself. They'll just refer you to the hospital/midwifery team. I didn't bother with the doc at all till about three weeks after my BFP.

eln77 · 30/07/2013 16:18

thanks lyra - i'm so confused as to what the stages are (when you see a gp, the midwife, have scans etc) - everyone seems to know exactly what happens when apart from me! think i'll feel a lot better once I've seen the doc as then at least I'll have a better idea of what the processes are!

babybear9 · 30/07/2013 16:24

Does anyone else have back ache? My kidneys like they do when i have a really bad hangover!!

Coolhand · 30/07/2013 16:27

Hi eln and congrats. To be honest, my GP was pretty clueless on the processes. The main thing is to find out how you arrange your 'booking in' appnt.

In terms of dates, you just go with your EDD for now worked off your lmp - at the very most your GP will confirm that with you though mine didn't bother You'll not get a confirmation of dates until your dating scan at 10-12 weeks.

JBrd · 30/07/2013 17:11

babybear Yes to the back ache! It's been going on and off ever since I had my BFP, so uncomfortable. Doesn't help that I have an office job and struggle to take breaks. So so sore Sad

And today, I have been suffering with excruciating trapped winds (sorry for the tmi). I can literally feel them moving about in my intestines, but they are not budging. Very uncomfortable. Think I need to stock up on peppermint tea...

eln Can you call your midwife directly? Where I live, they don't bother with the GP when you find out you're pg, you spek directly to the midwife who will arrange the booking in appointment (usually around 7-10 weeks) and your dating scan (around 12 weeks).

rosyryan · 30/07/2013 17:30

Hi Eln. Like a lot of the others I didn't have to see my doctor at all with this bfp. I'm just waiting on getting my booking in appointment through having referred myself to the midwife through the hospital website.

Glad I'm not the only non-puker then! My sickness last time was worst from 12-17 weeks so its probably all to come.

mimili · 30/07/2013 17:50

Welcome eln and congrats on the bfp!

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 30/07/2013 18:13

No sickness here, but gagging on toothbrush, does that count?! This is my second time pregnant and I'm getting so fat so soon, my uterus seems to have given up and found its rightful place early Hmm

Sarahb8990 · 30/07/2013 18:16

iam I'm the same, this is my second aswel and I'm already havin to wear maternity trousers! I feel Hugh already, dreading how big I'm gonna get lol.
Had loads of morning sickness, worse today have hardly been able to keep anything down.

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 30/07/2013 18:19

I'm ok first thing but as the day progresses I look like I'm about 6months, I'm trying to hide the impending girth at work, but breathing in doesn't seem to work anymore, how I'm going to hide it for another 6 weeks I have No idea

ShamelessInTheCountry · 30/07/2013 18:23

Foxmulder and beccadugs - mega thanks for the miscarriage stats, I had no idea it was that high after 8 weeks, has made me fee three stone lighter :) so Merck b!!

AndieDisestablishment · 30/07/2013 18:33

Condolences to all those with loses. Sending you positive and healing thoughts.

iam and sarah I have the same problem. This is my third and I think my abs have decided trying to hold everything in was too much work the last two times and have retired. I don't know how I'll make another 5 weeks without anyone noticing.

My midwife referral is complete but my community midwife is on holiday until the start of next week so I've got even more waiting before I even get a booking date.

PramelaAndherson · 30/07/2013 18:42

Coolhand, how's your wobbling?

Welcome, Eln.

JBrd, why do you have to have heparin throughout the pregnancy?
