We have managed once, it was fabulous, but I was the teensiest bit crampy afterwards so I'm a little bit scared now! Sad

MummyPig24 · 24/07/2013 10:05

I think we have had sex once since I got my BFP. I'm just too tired and boobs so sore. Plus with this bleeding I've been put off. Bleeding is much less today which is good.

Trying to take it easy but there's so much to do. Had to iron tops, make packed lunches, get ds off to school. Dd is watching Brave, I dusted and hoovered downstairs, put the guinea pigs out and emptied the paddling pool. Having a little rest before I do the upstairs.

I am sooooo sleepy! I fell asleep yesterday at 4 for about ten minutes. Then stayed up till 11, Woke up at 2.30 and couldn't get back to sleep for an hour. Then when the kids woke up at 6.30 I just couldn't open my eyes.

rescoonetwothree · 24/07/2013 10:12

hahahaha!

also, just noticed the feb thread adding location to the stats which may be a nice idea!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/07/2013 10:22

Oh, good idea! Ill pop over and start the ball rolling...

LittleMachine · 24/07/2013 10:27

We haven't managed dtd an awful lot because I have an ongoing UTI and sickness, but I'm looking forward to things getting going, pregnant sex is amazing!

Writerwannabe83 · 24/07/2013 10:43

Why is pregnant sex amazing??????????????????????????

LyraSilvertongue · 24/07/2013 10:47

Lol Pramela. DP has a very high sex drive and I'm usually happy to oblige Wink

Pregnant sex is amazing because of increased blood flow, and therefore sensitivity, to your bits.

Writerwannabe83 · 24/07/2013 10:54

I'm in the stage of, "You aren't coming near me in case we damage our growing foetus" Smile

HamwidgeAlive · 24/07/2013 10:55

Sex is not on my radar right now. Walking sets off the sickness so sex would probably lead to exorcist-style vomiting!

Woke up for the loo at half 4, took me til 6 to get back off, I was then woken at 7 by DS having the biggest screaming fit because he didn't want to clean his teeth. Not impressed.

Glad your bleeding is easing up mummy.

LyraSilvertongue · 24/07/2013 11:16

Writer, the baby is well protected. You won't harm him/her.

goldielocks23 · 24/07/2013 11:23

I'm really enjoying this thread, and so grateful for all the wisdom! I have another question for you: I read that if you're pg your immune system is down and you might get ill (basically just colds/stomach bugs) a lot. Has this happened to you a lot? Have you tended to be more susceptible to bugs etc? I'm quite a sickly thing so I'm not really looking forward to getting ill all the time :-( Atm I'm tucked up in bed with a head cold struggling to work, and wondering if this is going to last 9 months...

mimili · 24/07/2013 11:39

Ladies! Help needed please?

I am at a wedding this weekend, and the group is quite a boozy fun loving group(think drinking games at dinner etc). Naturally am not drinking and I am looking for the most believable excuse. I had the same problem last week, but luckily was able to confide in one friend in advance. But by my own admission, I looked grumpy and miserable!

This weekend I have no-one I would confide in (majority DH friends from school and college). I have the option of driving but it is quite unusual for me to do so?.

Any thoughts!?? I feel like everyone will see through the antibiotics excuse and can't you drink on most of them now anyway?

Writerwannabe83 · 24/07/2013 11:42

Tell them you are on Metronidazole for a tooth infection!!!

That's the one antibiotic you absolutely definitely can't have alcohol with!!

And occasionally rub your jaw as though you are in discomfort Smile

Writerwannabe83 · 24/07/2013 11:43

Unless everyone knows you are TTC I don't think they'll 'see through it' - why would they have reason to doubt you???

Start mentioning your 'toothache' tomorrow and tell them you've had to book an emergency appointment.... Grin. Makes it more believable then Smile

FrankelInFoal · 24/07/2013 11:47

I'd go with "designated driver". Otherwise, can you nurse a glass of wine slowly over the course of the meal? You can try to pretend you've just topped it up, or swap half-drunk glasses with your DH.

You could also try the "drink orange juice but pretend it has vodka in it" trick. You could always speak to a friendly waiter in confidence and ask them to keep you topped up with soft drinks in exchange for a nice tip at the end of the day.

I find once other people are a bit drunk they don't notice what others are drinking!

FoxMulder · 24/07/2013 11:47

I'm hoping this situation doesn't arise for me, as I am a shit, shit lier. It would go something like this:

'Fox, would you like a drink'
Me: 'er, no thanks' Blush

FoxMulder · 24/07/2013 11:49

Oh, by the way, I'm joining. Currently 5+6. EDD 25th March. Super nervous/dis-believing as I had a mc only last month at 6 weeks.

goldielocks23 · 24/07/2013 11:52

I'm in exactly the same boat but have two weddings in a row on 3rd and 10th Aug. My DH and I have decided to go for the 'don't draw attention to it, and swap drinks' move. Should be quite easy at dinner, esp if everyone else has had a few. For me, I find the most important thing is to not draw attention to it. Last Sat, the day after I found out I was pg, my chief bridesmaid asked me direct because we were on a hen day and I refused champagne (oh, and said I hoped Wills and Kate didn't go for George as that is our fave boy name!) I fobbed her off with a funny look like she was mad but it would have been much less obvious if I'd taken the champagne and then put it down somewhere discrete!

Writerwannabe83 · 24/07/2013 11:54

I'm lucky as I don't drink alcohol at all so nobody gives it a second thought when I'm ordering a glass of water from the bar Grin

However, we were at a wedding 10 days ago and even though I hadn't had my BFP (and didn't suspect I was pregnant) all I could think was, "I wonder if other people are thinking I'm pregnant?!"
They would haver no reason to but I think when we know we are either TTC or are pregnant we believe everyone else can sense it too and become paranoid Smile

Welcome Fox Smile
I'm due 31st March, I'm exactly 5 weeks today Smile

FoxMulder · 24/07/2013 11:58

I don't know, people say things to me occasionally about having kids. Even before I was thinking about it myself. I got it A LOT when I got married 2 years ago. And I recently turned 30 so maybe that has triggered people to start asking again.

I hope no-one asks in the next few weeks or my face will give it away.

Writerwannabe83 · 24/07/2013 12:03

My sister is always asking me about it as she knows me and hubby are TTC - she even had my latest expected AF date written down in her diary (yes, seriously) and when the date arrived she asked me if there was any sign of the baby yet, lol. I actually find it quite easy to tell fibs to my sister (she can be gullible at times) so I managed to convince her that for health reasons we have decided not to TTC until at least Christmas Time. She completely bought it so at least that is one pressure off me Grin.

MummyPig24 · 24/07/2013 12:05

Oh my god. It's just hit me. I'm going to have an actual baby!

MummyPig24 · 24/07/2013 12:07

Fox! Very happy to see you here!

Writer, your sister seems a bit overbearing!

Luckily no one has asked me. I orded tonic water when I went out last week and when someone asked I said it was g&t and that was that.

LyraSilvertongue · 24/07/2013 12:09

Lol mummypig. I get this all the time. My brain is in denial despite the evidence Grin

FoxMulder · 24/07/2013 12:10

Thanks Mummy I was glad to hear about your good scan results.
