Rockchick I was assuming i could still go swimming but if bacteria is an issue then maybe the pool is out aswell? It says in my book it's ok to swim though. Also if overheating is an issue should I not be sitting in the sun? I'm going on holiday soon :(

mummy will be thinking of you today with your scan. Your not on your own you have us! I know it doesn't feel the same but we are here for you. Can you take your mum with you?

Souredstones · 23/07/2013 08:24

mummy good luck you will be fine try not to worry too much and take deep breaths. How are you today other than apprehensive about the scan?

Good luck all with scans and appointments, hope the pregnancy side effects aren't getting to you too much, at least here in the south east the heat has subsided due to a monster storm last night!

I feel like shit today, had no sleep so sat and watched the storm. Still cramping still bleeding. My mum has been a rock to me, she had heavy bleeding in all her pregnancies and we are all here to tell the tale. Hope this one sticks like that! I'm taking heart from the fact I have the beginnings of a bump that I can no longer suck in and hide. Otherwise I have no other indication I'm pregnant.

Hoping bean is well. Mw appointment is next week so hopefully we can hear a heartbeat then.

Mummy, it's totally normal to feel this way. I spent pretty much all my time between last Wednesday afternoon and my scan on Friday morning in tears. We're all hear for you

Souredstones · 23/07/2013 08:26

Oh and I'm supposed to be in work about now. I've only just got out the shower. I have called in to say I will be late, I'm not going to rush. They don't appreciate it!

Good luck Mummypig

Souredstones lots of good late excuses today, we've had so much rain the roads are starting to flood, trains cancelled due to lightening, etc Wink

Lambchop I don't think the advice about bacteria in saunas and jacuzzis extends to most swimming pools. The sauna/jacuzzi is generally kept at a much higher temp which is perfect conditions for bacteria to breed. Swimming is great exercise in pregnancy because there is no stress on your joints. General exercise and being healthy throughout is also recommended because it helps you cope when you're bigger and during/after the birth. So, basically, swim!

Rockchick1984 · 23/07/2013 08:57

Lamb see here holidays and swimming pools are both fine according to NHS, jacuzzis and saunas aren't :)

Mummy I'm sure you will be fine today, but we are all here to hold your hand Thanks

Hoping for little heartbeats for Mummy and Saggy.

Like the new name Frank!

I love it when the threads start for the months after my due date - it makes it feel even more real. Hooray for the April newbies! Grin

rescoonetwothree · 23/07/2013 09:13

Good luck everyone with scans and appointments!

Strange thing I've noticed: I was just in the shower going to shave my legs (am of Mediterranean descent so do this every couple of days by default because its dark and grows so quickly), and my hair has barely grown over the past few days?!

MummyPig24 · 23/07/2013 09:20

Good luck everyone, really keeping my fingers crossed tight for you, thank you for the support, I really appreciate it.

Unfortunately my mum died when I was 15. My close friend has to work so she can't come and dh can't get time off work. I have to get 2 buses which is going to be a laugh seeing as I don't even know which bus I have to get on second!

Feeling ok, sick, exhausted and emotional but ok. Mild cramps in tummy, not pain though.

Massive hugs to those going through the same. Please update when you have had your scans.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 23/07/2013 09:40

Right, I'm first...
There is a teeny tiny alien growing in my tummy! Grin it has a teeny tiny heart beat! Grin and it is 4 days older then expected! Grin

There. I've started the positive trend for today, now lets carry it on! Smile

riirii · 23/07/2013 11:46

Hi,

New to this! First time mum too and completely unsure of what to expect! I found out I was pregnant, booked an appt with doctor but took 2 weeks to get an appt. when I went they didn't even get me to do a test, dh and I thought his weird as thy just booked an appt with midwife. I am slightly worried as I feel we are both lacking any guidance and I still don't have the reassurance that I'm pregnant from the doctor.

Do you think I should book another appt?
