^Just read your comment about feeling emptiness/sadness. I think that's to be expected in your situation.
You have the stress/anticipation/anxiety going through IVF. Now you are pregnant you will have felt elated and then worried like the rest of us because it is such early days.

Couple that with all the hormones racing around you and you are bound to be feeling up and down at times.

There is a lot of waiting around at this stage isn't there? Once we are round the 12 week corner we will be dizzy with happiness again I'm sure Smile

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 22:01

How is everyone coping at work? Stuff just feels like its getting on top of me. There are a lot of small parts to my job, and it is very hard to do just one little.bit.without interruption or another do.it.now task landing in my lap. I also have a boss who is fucking marvellous at delegating.

Add into that mental shifts (finish tonight at 11 and I have to be back at my desk at 7am). I can feel, and have for most of the day, a ball.of rage building up.

We are supposed to be fed onshift too, and tonights offering was fries. JUst fries....swimming in their own grease too. So so sick.

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 22:01

ooops sorry for the rant!

PramelaAnderson · 22/07/2013 22:02

Aw, thanks, HotCross.

rescoonetwothree · 22/07/2013 22:10

Thanks both! Don't think ill risk it either way tbh!

hot honestly lactulose saved me! its not harsh either, you should try it if you haven't!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/07/2013 22:13

Lactulose is amazing wonderful stuff from heaven! Grin

Coolhand · 22/07/2013 22:32

Mortified that sounds awful. I think I would not be coping and would have punched someone in the face by now!

Greymoose back to earlier comment on booking - last time I had a combined booking appnt/scan but that hospital didn't offer nuchal fold testing as standard. If you want the tests and have concerns about the timing, I would phone and double check.

AndieDisestablishment · 22/07/2013 22:38

On the subject of notes : ALWAYS take them EVERYWHERE. If something were to happen and you were unconscious who would be able to tell that you were pregnant ore bump? They'll also contain your blood group and obstetric history as you go along so are massively useful in emergencies.

Pram Was it you that asked about MiL? I'm just feeling a bit delicate that she's suddenly treating my DCs (who aren't my DPs) very differently to my DSSs after originally accepting us all as one big family and I'm a bit worried when the new baby arrives will it be all about DSSs and baby but my other DCs don't matter? Had a massive cry and DP told her I'm really upset and either we're a family in her eyes or she's had her chips. I get what you mean about the kind of emptiness, especially after you've had a stressful time of trying and in these early weeks when there's nothing "tangible". Once there's a scan picture and those first flutters it'll all be so real those feelings will be forgotten.

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 22:50

Cool I do... I want to high five my boss.....in the face.....with a chair.

Need to chill.

rescoonetwothree · 22/07/2013 22:59

Ooh thanks cool! Wish everyone could just have a standard procedure!

Rockchick1984 · 22/07/2013 23:21

Andie what was MIL's response to that? Yay for DP though, makes a change to read on here about menfolk standing up to their mums when their partners are concerned!!

Mortified that made me giggle, sorry!!

All ok here but hormones definitely sending me crazy - cried at the tv for literally no reason today!!

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 23:27

Ooh there is bound to be another series of One BOrn Every MInute before all our due dates - will have us sobbing and wincong in equal measures.

I now have a Macdonalds cheeseburger in hand so am calmer.

JK10 · 22/07/2013 23:42

mortified you poor thing! Loved your post though! Very funny! I could feel your stress as I was reading!! Hope u get the weekends off?

Best wishes to soured charley and mummy hope all is well.

Sorry to those who are feeling crap at the min, im sufferer ing with insomnia! So tired but can't sleep!

Oh and on the subject of mil I think I mentioned before about her crazy sandwich making for her son! So I catch her this time whilst I'm downstairs, crouching down next to dp's van! You could tell she was sneaking and trying to be quiet, so I couldn't help myself but to open the bug window and shout out "are you alright down there?" she was like a rabbit in headlights and mumbled something about paperwork then realised she was holding the sandwiches! Was very funny! But guess u had to be there!

pram hope u feel better soon, hormones are wild whilst pg, topped off with this heat and all the anxieties whilst waiting for the 12 week scan it's gonna make us all have ups and downs. But like someone said just keep checking you are still getting those up's too.

Gonna try sleep

AndieDisestablishment · 22/07/2013 23:50

Rock She made some lame excuse about how he's moved so far away and locked them out (we live an hour away and both she and FiL drive, he has a company car and doesn't even pay his own petrol!!) DP told her she needs to make the effort, not just us. He's definitely a keeper.lol. Sorry the hormones are getting the better of you too.

Jk That's hilarious. I honestly can't believe she does that. Is FiL still around or does she live alone?

MortifiedAdams · 22/07/2013 23:50

I have weekends off if I request them. Am off this weekend for a very good friends wedding, so looking forward to relaxing! Allowing myself a glass of champagne for the toast.

It is beyond silly, and hilarious, that she makes his lunches and puts them.in his van - the whole tale had me agog!

Anyone else want a fast forward button on life?

MTBMummy · 23/07/2013 06:29

Morning all, it amazes me that you're all up so late! I can barely keep my eyes open past 9pm. Thankfully I managed to only have to get up once in the night.

Fx for mummy, soured and charley - it's a horrible time not knowing what's going on inside us.

I discovered an app for monitoring your babies heart beat later on in pregnancy - I just know I'm going to end up downloading it and using it as a crutch to get through the long spells between scans and appointments.

MTBMummy · 23/07/2013 06:30

PS - mortified - best quote ever, I feel that way about my current acting manager, he's a complete arse at times.

April13 · 23/07/2013 07:12

Morning all! Hope you're all well today, have my booking in appt at 9am today, a bit nervous though.....

lambchops I'm about 7+6 today....

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 23/07/2013 07:32

Well, 6 weeks today and off for a scan at 9. Wish me luck and fingers crossed!

FrankelInFoal · 23/07/2013 07:37

Good luck to everyone with scans, appointments, etc today. Particularly thinking of those of you who have had a stressful few days.

I'm 8 weeks today, by my calculations Grin. I've got my booking in appointment on Thursday so hopefully I will get a scan date too.

We had some cracking thunderstorms last night, and another is brewing as I type. Thank goodness because the humidity was becoming unbearable!

Rockchick1984 · 23/07/2013 07:37

Good luck Saggy!!!!

Don't worry about booking in April its a bit of an anticlimax - just asking you a million questions about your medical history then taking bloods and a urine dipstick to check for UTI's, they don't even do a pregnancy test!!!

Rockchick1984 · 23/07/2013 07:40

Eeek, we aren't the newbies any more - there's a thread for "due in April 2014" now too!!!

Lambchop14 · 23/07/2013 08:00

April that's exciting that we're both about the same.

Think I need a nighttime bra. Never had to wear one in bed before but every time I roll over in bed now I wake up and my boobs are agony. Anyone got any recommendations on where to get a good one? Also, is it true that you can't use the sauna, steam room or jacuzzi in your first 12 weeks? I'm supposed to be going for a spa day in a week or so with friends and I don't know what I'm going to do if I can't use any of the facilities. My friends don't know I'm pregnant.

Rockchick1984 · 23/07/2013 08:03

That's right Lamb - overheating is very bad for bump, but also there's a ridiculous amount of bacteria in them! Should avoid throughout pregnancy but the first 12 weeks most importantly! Could you blame a heavy period and say a tampon wouldn't contain it all - means you can just lounge around in shorts and a swimming cozzie reading and gossiping?

MummyPig24 · 23/07/2013 08:14

I'm being silly aren't I? I'm fighting back the tears thinking about being alone today and potentially getting bad news. I know it's hormones but its really shit! And my brother works in the hospital in the records office so if he sees that I'm in there that's going to be awkward.

Hope everyone is feeling well and looking forward to another sunny day.
