Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AndieDisestablishment · 22/07/2013 16:03

saggy Technically an adult is over 18 so as they're both your well behaved children I'd say yes. Scan rooms are pokey though, will you all fit in?lol

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/07/2013 16:06

I'm sure we will have a good try! Grin my dcs are bloody lovely, really supportive and we all want to be involved. They're aware of the risks, and I'd live to have them there if they want to be.

IceNoSlice · 22/07/2013 16:58

Saggy, I'm sure that will be fine. I would take them, don't ask permission, just all go in when you're called. Don't give them a chance to object Wink

How lovely that they want to be involved Smile

LittleMachine · 22/07/2013 17:00

Becca I really feel for you. I had 2 scans when I was in for hyperemesis, to make sure everything was progressing and there was enough fluid around the baby.

MummyPig24 · 22/07/2013 17:00

Hi everyone. The gp asked me to go for a scan tomorrow just to make sure everything's ok.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/07/2013 17:03

It is lovely. I have ds17 and dd14. They are soooo excited! I'm going to just take them. I know its a serious diagnostic test, but I will explain all of the ins and outs to them.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 22/07/2013 17:05

Mummy, that's good. You'll know one way or the other, and I'm sure it's nothing.

charley33 · 22/07/2013 17:10

Well Docs said to ring the Epu and when I finally got through to the Epu they said to keep an eye on things over the next couple of days and if no difference to call back and they will scan me - do feel a little better about things now

mummy hope all is ok at your scan tmz xx

charley33 · 22/07/2013 17:14

And soured hope you stop bleeding xx

rosyryan · 22/07/2013 18:09

Will try and do a proper catch up later but OMG I have got The Rage today. I vaguely remember this from last time - mostly because DH called me Mrs Hormone until it passed. I could just kill everyone today.

Thinking of you MummyPig and Soured and hoping the next few days bring good news.

LyraSilvertongue · 22/07/2013 18:49

Any of you in SW London? St George's in Tooting will do an early scan on request between 8.30am and 11am. You don't need a reason. That's how I got mine this morning Smile

MummyPig24 · 22/07/2013 19:02

Thanks everyone. Thinking of those who are having a rough ride.

I will be on my own so I hope it's nothing bad. I still feel pregnant, mainly sore boobs, so I'm taking it as a good sign. Also no pain.

AndieDisestablishment · 22/07/2013 19:34

rosy Me too! No patience with DP, the dogs, DCs, utterly suspicious of DPs ex for being suddenly reasonable and also burst into tears over MiL being weird. Roller coaster day. DP's like "OMG, you are SO pregnant!"

PramelaAnderson · 22/07/2013 20:03

Ditto on the irritation. Does anyone else feel an anti-climactic 'emptiness' or (dare I say it?) sadness? Sadness is a bit extreme but I don't know how else to verbalise how I've felt the past couple of days. The IVF journey to get here was amazing and incredible and I am so blessed to be pregnant so why do I feel glum all of a sudden?

Pram, 41, 7+4

Coolhand · 22/07/2013 20:04

Charley, Soured and Mummy hope all is okay and bleeding stops soon.

Becca you are having a really rough time. Curses to that initial GP who more or less dismissed you. I hope the scan will bring you reassurance.

Grey was it you asking about the booking/scan? In my experience, the scan is the only thing to worry about it in terms of timing. When I had the m/c around 6 weeks my initial details were on the system as I had been to my GP - it didn't matter that I hadn't had booking in. Booking is just a long process of putting medical history on system and explaining process etc - I don't see that you are really losing out in anyway having it at the same time as scan. Maybe someone else knows better!

PramelaAnderson · 22/07/2013 20:05

Andie, tell us more about MIL's weirdness!

Where is HotCrossPun and Rugby? Are you okay? Aren't you sticking around, Mickstery?

Thinking of you tomorrow, MummyPig.

rescoonetwothree · 22/07/2013 20:24

thanks coolhand i've also been having the dreaded irritation today so think i was panicking a bit too haha! i was just worried that because from what i was reading they normally book you in for the tests etc. at the booking that i wouldn't have this option or there'd be limited spaces!

its all so confusing with every authority doing things a different way!

does anyone know about flying and if its ok as well - sorry i have so many questions !

hope everyone's having a nice relaxing evening with an alcohol free kopparberg or equivalent!

April13 · 22/07/2013 20:26

Not been on for a few days, had quite a few pages to read up on!

I hope all you ladies that are having a tough time get better soon, and get positive news too, fingers crossed for you all xxx

lambchops I'm in Scotland too, will be going to Forth Valley....seems to be conmon/a pattern of babies being born in the car park there, but at least if I make it to the ward it'll be relatively new -and hopefully clean- c

Lambchop14 · 22/07/2013 20:46

April, yay! Delighted I'm not the only scot on here. How many weeks are you? I'm 7+2. Just burst out crying watching Coronation Street! Could blame it on the hormones but its not out of the ordinary 😉

rosyryan · 22/07/2013 20:58

Pram yes I feel just that way. I was going to post about it at the weekend but I thought I was being a bit of an arse when this is exactly what I want and so many women struggle for so long to get their bfps. I feel sad and a bit lost and quite lonely. Bloody hormones!!

Coolhand · 22/07/2013 21:26

Pram I think those feelings are normal - particularly when the BFP is such a big climax - it's impossible to sustain that for 9 months. Hormones are all over the place and you feel pretty rubbish none of which helps.

It also happens after baby is born and I think that is even harder if you've had a long journey to get there. You almost feel like you should be grateful/happy every moment which just won't happen.

Keep an eye on it though - if it comes and goes it is perfectly normal if it becomes more than that, let those looking after you know how you feel.

IceNoSlice · 22/07/2013 21:26

greymoose re flying. In my last pregnancy I flew at 14/15 weeks and at 26/27 weeks with no issues. I believe you are restricted by some travel insurance companies from being insured to fly after 28 weeks (some 32). Relevant if you're booking a holiday! (I didn't plan to fly at 27 weeks BTW, I was further on than we thought when the hol was booked).

But in terms of early pregnancy (ie now!) I think most people would say it's fine. However I have a feeling that some jobs such as cabin staff are grounded when PG. Also, anecdotally I have a friend who travelled a lot with work and blamed an mc on too many flights (but she was also under a lot of work pressure so...?)

If you want a more qualified answer, ask your GP maybe?

PramelaAnderson · 22/07/2013 21:38

Thank you for your honesty Rosy and your kind words, Coolhand, very wise. I am already on antidepressants and have a history of clinical depression and obsessive thoughts. I'm nowhere near depressed but I take your point about keeping an eye on it.

Anyone else's farts smell like a rotting corpse? Confused

LittleMachine · 22/07/2013 21:43

To anyone who is flying a bit later in pregnancy, when you have a bump, this may sound obvious but take your notes!

I didn't when I flew at 22 weeks and they weren't sure about me boarding because I had no proof I was under 29 weeks (that particular airline's restriction before you need a doctor's note).
It didn't even occur to me that they wouldn't believe me!

HotCrossPun · 22/07/2013 21:45

I'm still here Pramela - loving your new name btw. Grin

I WISH I could fart. I am so bunged up and bloated, I can actually feel my stomach, it's a very strange sensation.

TBH, DP always tells me I am a horrific night farter, After this build up I'm worried about what the evening is going to bring. Confused
