Thanks animol - hope your feeling better soon Thanks when I get a cough it last for weeks so I feel your pain Sad

mycatlikestwiglets · 15/07/2013 10:18

Suffolk, sorry to hear about your AND, especially after your recent baby stress. Hope you are getting lots of support and taking care of yourself.

Anyone else having difficulty sleeping? What with the heat, needing to pee 4 times and the discomfort of an arm in plaster, I feel as though I hardly slept at all last night!

harverina · 15/07/2013 10:42

Mycat I am not sleeping great either- I don't have a broken arm to bother me though! It's just my hips get sore and tingly so I have to turn lots as I can't lie on one side for too long Hmm

How is your arm? Thanks

mycatlikestwiglets · 15/07/2013 11:39

Arm ok thanks - discovered this morning that I can still drive despite the plaster so I don't feel quite so helpless!

I know what you mean about tossing and turning too, so hard to get comfortable at the moment. Only 15 weeks to go for me!

getoffthecoffeetable · 15/07/2013 13:55

Add me to the 'unable to sleep list'
I'm loving the weather and want it to stay but it's def much more difficult to sleep. I think I'd probably end up not being able to sleep whatever the weather though so don't want to wish it away.
Have got some mosquito bites on my ankles which are currently driving me lulu. Anyone got any top tips on how to stop the itching?
Have got mw appointment this afternoon do will pick her brains too.

Flossy78 · 15/07/2013 16:09

Hi can I join too? How do I join the FB page. I'm due on 6 Nov, a little boy Smile And yes I'm melting in this heat too. Especially at night...oh and all day Wink

animol same here.

I can't breathe, eyes are all puffy and my cough is really starting to piss me off!

Getting really fed up of people saying oh just enjoy the weather, difficult when it causes you to feel like absolute rubbish!

Does anyone else feel like its going rather quick?

harverina · 15/07/2013 23:45

Yes it's going too quick! I want to meet baby but I have too much to do...it's seems like only yesterday that I was saying "8 months to go, plenty of time to get organised!"

getoffthecoffeetable · 16/07/2013 07:45

It's definitely going really fast. Can't believe we have to serve notice at DS's nursery at the beginning if August.
Bad start to the morning so far. Standing up on the train yet again. Not impressed with the complete lack of manners of some people!
Still got lots to organise. Haven't done a thing yet!
Went to see the midwife yesterday and heard baby's heartbeat. She had someone else in with her, didn't ask which was rude and yet again she's not given me my prescription form even though I specifically asked for it!
Think I might have the rage this morning lol

Animol · 16/07/2013 10:38

Was at the docs this morning - I've got bronchitis and a trapped nerve from all the coughing - it's a bit grim but I'm quite relieved it's nothing worse! Got a quick peak at LO and everything seems fine :)

IRCL · 16/07/2013 22:59

Glad it's not just me thinking it's going fast!

Just a heads up..

Amazon currently have the red cabriofix car seat for £68.00 however if you join Amazon family you receive £10 off, making it like £58.00!

This is a bargain for a new highly rated carseat considering everywhere else sells it for £95+ it goes on our travel system without adaptors. Bonus!

Hope this helps someone. :)

harverina · 17/07/2013 14:06

Aw animol hope your feeling better today Hmm its horrible being unwell normally, even worse when you are pregnant.

Animol · 17/07/2013 16:33

Thanks harverina I'm still coughing but the pain from the trapped nerve seems to be easing off - or the new pills are working, I don't really care which! Feeling a lot more hopeful today!

Angus - I'm in the US too. Has your OB got you booked in for a gestational diabetes test? Mine has and seems they're standard here though they're not in the UK. How do you find your care in general? I like my Dr, but feel like a bit of a fraud seeing a Dr every few weeks when in the UK last time round it was generally midwife led.

Also, have you found some baby stuff is way more expensive here than in the UK? Prams etc seem a lot cheaper, but nappy bins and bags seem a lot costlier to me - I mean, who wants a premium plastic bag for poo?!

Hope everyone in the UK is coping in the heat. Currently 100F+ where I am in the States, it's brutal!

Omg I feel like I can't complain about how hot I am when you guys must be so much warmer!!!

I actually love the warm summer days but not in an office with no air con!!

My cravings have been healthier recently - tomatoes are a current one, and I'm loving rocket salads too :) but I also love curries, cheese and chocolate too Hmm I don't want to get too heavy - I am already overweight you see. I am confident I will lose it afterwards but I don't want to feel uncomfortable.

Angus - will I post you a scotch pie? My dh bought me one last week and I couldn't stomach it. It was from our local butchers too and they are renowned for their amazing pies. Too greasy for me right now.

mycatlikestwiglets · 19/07/2013 22:02

So I thought I was coping well with the heat but for the last 2 days when I've got home from work I've discovered I've developed cankles Sad. How you ladies in the roasting US are coping I don't know!

Oh good. Glad you are able to indulge your cravings - I couldn't imagine what it would be like to crave something and for it not to be available at all! Some of my cravings have been very strong - when it was lettuce I ate a whole iceberg lettuce in one afternoon. When it was ice lollies I ate 6 in one day Blush and not much more!!

Well done for trying to be healthy - I haven't been so successful Hmm have just been stuffing my face with giant milky buttons!

mycatlikestwiglets · 19/07/2013 22:28

harv I've been incredibly unhealthy too - this baby likes cake Blush

HMT13 · 19/07/2013 22:51

Harverina, my cravings are exactly the same as yours. Do you know what you're having?
