MotherOfCleo · 10/07/2013 15:59

Retro I've just put mine in as 26th October and my EDD is 7th November so I'll be just over 38 weeks. I've told them that I might need to be flexible with that date though. Tricky isn't it.

Norfolknway · 10/07/2013 16:46

Ouch! Poor you! I keep going over on my ankles, burning myself on anything I could possibly burn myself on and knocking into everything within a 2 metre radius of me...have evaded major injury...so far!

I've popped my mat leave in for 12th Oct (due 4/11) only 3 months left at work Grin

mycatlikestwiglets · 10/07/2013 17:02

I'm planning to stop work at the end of Sept (EDD 28 Oct) so that I have some relaxation time before the baby arrives. Can't wait!

Norfolknway · 10/07/2013 19:54

I took 2 months Blush before DD1 ( she was 10 days over too) this time work is sometimes a welcome break from toddlerville Wink

Sodding phone. I've decided to go for just over 37 weeks but my boss is ace and says we can change it at short notice if I need to. It's just so hard to know how you might feel in 10 or 15 weeks, and who knows when the baby might actually show up.

getoffthecoffeetable · 10/07/2013 22:32

I've gone for 5th Sept as last day at work, due date is 1st Nov but have been told I'll be induced at 38 weeks. I want to have a bit of time with DS before the next one comes along!
mycat thank you for the well wishes, work issue is now sorted, I'm so relieved!
I would say hopefully I'll sleep now but it's so muggy!

Animol · 11/07/2013 09:03

22 weeks today :)

CornishFirstTimer22 · 11/07/2013 14:04

I finish on the 18th Sept, and then have annual leave until maternity leave proper kicks in on the 1st Oct( Due Nov 1st). I can't bloody wait now - it's been one of those days in the office!!

As soon as I finish I'm moving back to Cornwall from London too so that should be a challenge!!

Fairydogmother · 11/07/2013 15:06

I went for 21 oct as mat leave start date with a weeks leave before it. Wondering should I change that to 14 oct and take the leave the week before. Is 21st too late for stopping an office job with a due date of 5 nov?

Mistyshore · 11/07/2013 18:57

I can't decide what to do. I went two weeks over with ds so ended up with 6 weeks of doing nothing that I would much rather have had at the end of my leave. I'm already struggling at work though with tiredness, aches and pains and lack of attention span. I'm hoping its the heat so temporary) but feel huge at 24 weeks!

harverina · 11/07/2013 20:45

At the moment my official finish date is 27 September - I am due 3 November. That would mean 2 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks maternity leave before my actual due date. I may change this and work on a week - but then I am a bit reluctant to do this in case I need to be sectioned early (which may happen if I get colestasis again) as then I would only have a few days off before giving birth! I plan on thinking about it tonight and putting it in tomorrow - I assume I could change it if it came to it??? I work for a local authority and I am not sure how flexible they are.

This heat is hard work - I love warm weather but not when I work in a poorly air conditioned office Hmm today I was out and about doing home visits and it was torture getting in and out the car as it became so hot!!

Getoff glad work issue is resolved. I often waken up worrying about work at night although I am trying hard not to let it affect me so much.

Mycat hope your arm is ok. I can imagine it must be hard looking after a toddler with a broken arm. Glad it seems to be a minor fracture.

I am just home from work. I'm off for the next 2 weeks after tomorrow and want to make sure everything is as up to date as I can physically manage it to be before I stop. Sometimes it seems like more hassle than its worth takin annual leave!!!

Angus - submitted it during the night at1am!! It's due today but I have such a busy day at work so I sat and proof read it when I got in last night and change a few bits then I thought, stuff it! It's going in now!! Its been ok doing it actually. Once I got going I quite enjoyed it. I have spent a lot of time on it though...Last module I got quite a good mark but this time I don't feel particularly confident that I have passed...however if I have failed I won't be worrying about it until next year at the earliest Grin so I am trying not to worry about it! Thanks for asking - I am glad I persevered and got it in.

Suffolk so sorry to hear your not doing great. Have you seen your GP yet? Thinking of you and hope you are okThanks

gubbinsy · 12/07/2013 08:08

Really interested to hear all your plans for maternity leave. I'm due 5 Nov and trying to decide whether to finish on 7 or 14 Oct - hopefully have 2 weeks leave to stick on the front so maternity leave won't start till towards end of Oct. Worried about getting bored but then lots of friends have said it's the last time you get to yourself which does sound quite appealing!

Suffolk, sorry to hear you've got depression. Hope you're getting some help with it.

I've just about made peace with the fact that we're going to still be in this flat when the baby arrives. Been on the market 6 months and no-one wants it. Baby in one bed flat - anyone any advice! I know they don't need much at the start but there are also steep stairs to contend with. Lord knows how our neighbours will feel about pram in hall and baby crying!

MotherOfCleo · 12/07/2013 08:55

fairy you're thinking the same as me, I put last day as 25th oct and Im due on 7th nov. I just have a feeling I'll be overdue and dont want to waste the 6 weeks full pay I do get before smp kicks in. If I save a weeks holiday and then use my 6 weeks starting 26th oct it should take us almost to christmas at full pay. Have a feeling I'll be cream crackered by then though Confused guess only time will tell.

MotherOfCleo · 12/07/2013 08:56

Oh and suffolk I really hope you're being well looked after! I've suffered from depression before and know how debilitating it is. Really feel for you, look after yourself. Thanks

Thanks everyone. I will find out in a few weeks. Feel like can relax a bit now and start preparing for the baby!

Animol · 13/07/2013 10:39

Well done Harv

I've still got a stinking cold - nearly two weeks now - and pain in my ribs whenever I cough, which is most of the time :(

Start of my 6th month today though and baby is very active :)

littlemonkey2013 · 13/07/2013 20:59
