Flip, if I can cry at mini haribo I'm pretty certain I would have been a mess in your situation!

So what's the plan with the fb group? Do I need to message anyone to confirm I'm actually me?

I'm going to bed I think... Am feeling really sick and my tummy is making grumbly noises. Confused

jennimoo · 10/07/2013 20:51

Frog - if you're in spreadsheet it's fine, if not and your names on the list I posted earlier just pm me and I'll take you off the 'randoms' list.

andadietcoke · 10/07/2013 20:52

jenni is Laura F one of us then? I didn't know one of us already had twins...

Pretty sure I went into labour with DS1 when he wasn't engaged.

Thanks sgj. I was struggling with the heat while cross checking! No answer from Flo yet.

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 10/07/2013 21:57

I would rather not reiterate my MN name on the fb group until randoms are gone, although for as long as they have been in they could probably have looked at who I am on the spreadsheet. I know my fb personal privacy settings are paranoid good though. I name change fairly regularly on here and haven't ever really written anything blackmailable/hurtful about anyone. I think...!

Kittenkatzen · 10/07/2013 22:45

Thanks jenni (and sgj!) that must have been a mammoth task! Hopefully we can get the privacy settings changed before we all want to start uploading baby pics!

31wks tomorrow and a mw appt, will report back on position etc Smile

SGJ · 10/07/2013 22:53

I'm happy to take down the spreadsheet for a while, if people want, until things are sorted out? Rake, you're legit, worry not! My FB privacy settings are pretty strict due to teaching and nosy students, but I won't be sharing my poo stories on the FB group just yet, just in case!

Had a massive Chinese takeaway this evening as I've been wanting crispy chilli beef all day... feeling seriously rotund now and won't be able to sleep for ages. Rookie mistake!

jennimoo · 11/07/2013 06:45

As there haven't been any spreadsheet updates I doubt any of the new ones would have noticed it...

jemimahpuddleduck · 11/07/2013 09:09

Great work jenni and sgj, I agree with kitten it would be nice to be sorted by the time baby pics are being posted Smile

Had my midwife yesterday all bloods were fine and baby is head down with it's back on my right hand side. Think they moved over to the left last night though. I asked why I hadn't felt much up high and it's just because they are low down not because it's breech which is what I had imagined.

No sign of whopping cough jab yet they said I would hear about 32 weeks.

TripleRock · 11/07/2013 09:12

Hi all, glad you've all been discussing fb.

I'm not hugely bothered but I have stopped posting on there since our international friends joined us and would rather it was kept to just those from MN if I'm honest.

I've had to take a day off sick from work today as I was up half the night with a tummy bug. I'm knackered and not wishing to be too far from my own lavvy right now... Baby was wriggling like crazy all night and that combined with the, ahem, 'clearouts' made me panic it was onset of labour or something. All quiet now for a bit though.

My baby has been alternating between transverse lie and oblique breech so far and judging by the kicks not much has changed. I wish he would settle soon as I'm still needing to decide elcs or vbac and it seems silly to pin my hopes on a vbac only for baby to be head up or OP anyway... I've given him to the end of this month (cons appts at 34 weeks) to stop messing about and get headdown OA!

PurplePoppySeed · 11/07/2013 09:26

oops, I've been a bit slack - have a whole thread to catch up on! Hope everyones ok and coping with the weather this week!

Joskar · 11/07/2013 09:58

Hurrah to all the people who are organised about spreadsheets and such. I wouldn't know where to start. Rounds of applause and slaps on the back for your hard work. Grin

See this iron levels malarkey, I'm a bit concerned. I've been on iron tablets from 10 weeks via the GP not the midwife. The midwife is blithely unconcerned about my iron levels but the GP is quite wound up about it. My level at 29 weeks was 91 which was a dip from 100 at 22 weeks so they've given me extra tablets. I've been getting bloods checked by the MW and the Practice Nurse. The MW and the GP appear to be having a disagreement about it because when I asked MW whether or not she could just do my blood check because it would save me a trip in she was really taken aback that the GP surgery has had anything to do with this and got a bit territorial about it. She said that 91 was nothing to worry about because there's always a dip in the third trimester. What's everyone else with low iron experiencing? Is this carry on normal? Am also eating spinach and orange juice every day so cannot fathom why the iron levels are falling. Is it because I'm having a blacksmith's baby? Wink

Keepsmilingsunshine · 11/07/2013 10:04

Ouch!! Sad Went for one of my many late night toilet breaks and fell down half a flight of stairs. Thankfully onto my ample bottom, but ouch it hurts! Baby seems to be fine, normal movements which is a relief.

TripleRock · 11/07/2013 10:35

I had low iron with DD despite eating steak with spinach washed down with orange juice with regularity. I think it's quite common.

Other good veggie sources include brown rice, dried fruit like raisins or dried apricots, beans, prunes.

But if you're not veggie the most easily absorbed iron is found in meat. Not just red, poultry is good too I believe.

Avoid coffee, tea and too much dairy as calcium and caffeine are baddies when it comes to iron absorbtion

badguider · 11/07/2013 11:02

Anybody else finding it REALLY hard to focus on work now? I think it's a combination of the heat and the stage of pregnancy but omg i'd like to just nap all day!

In some ways i'm glad i'm not on mat leave yet or I wOULD just nap all day :)

I still have six week's work still to go (mostly at home thankfully) so I need to just get over it...

Hi,

I wondered if I could join you. I have been lurking for a while. I am 29 weeks. This is my 3rd child. It's a boy. I have a 6 year old boy and a 5 year old autistic girl. I have been suffering with SPD. I have also been suffering with quite strong braxton hicks which make my legs go funny as well, in the last few days.

I keep wondering if I should call the midwife as I don't remember them being this strong before. It has been a few years though. I know this sounds weird but it feels like the baby is pushing to come out of my back passage if you see what I mean. I keep going to the toilet thinking that is what I need but nothing happens. I drink tons of water so I can't be dehydrated.

Anyway, I have a midwife appointment on Thursday so maybe I will leave it until then.

geeandfeesmum · 11/07/2013 11:10

Should say next Thursday.

JammyTummy · 11/07/2013 11:38

Triple I've had a funny tummy too. It hasn't really amounted to much but it feels like there's something going on there. And also cramping quite low down. In the same way, my first thoughts were I hope it's not early labour. In fact, it feels almost like early pregnancy tummy!

Woke up last night from stabbing pains in the little triangle right at the top bit between the ribs. It's been aching and felt quite bruised for a while (assume its just uterus digging into ribs) but the stabbing pain is a new development. I can't believe there are still 8 more weeks of this to go!

Kittenkatzen · 11/07/2013 11:44

Ouch keepsmiling hope your poor bruised bum feels better soon!

Jumping in on the low iron talk, I've just had my 31wk check up with the midwife and my levels are slightly low for the first time (107). She wasn't too concerned though, just told me to up the spinach intake and avoid dairy with iron rich foods as it inhibits iron absorption apparently. She recommended something called Spatone mixed with oj - anyone tried it?

badguider I'm with you on the work apathy! I have four more weeks to go, things are really busy but I'm jut finding it so hard to care any more!!

Welcome geeandfeesmum sorry you've been so uncomfortable recently - I had the baby trying to beat its way out the back door feeling a few weeks ago too, thankfully baby seems to have moved a bit since then! Most disconcerting it was!

andadietcoke · 11/07/2013 11:54

badguider I can't concentrate at all - have half written emails and open documents all over and no idea what I'm doing with any of them.

jammy just keep an eye out for swelling, visual disturbances etc. I have slightly high blood pressure and was told to keep an eye out for epi gastric pain there as it can be a sign of pre eclampsia - can also be, as you say, completely benign, just keep an eye on it!

RunningBear78 · 11/07/2013 12:07

I've finally got around to doing a shop for all things hospital bag! Bought small quantities of nappies etc till we get home and I can fathom my re-useable ones, huge mountains of maternity pads, enough lanisoh to fill a pool, a lovely bamboo nursing nighty type job ... and chocolate Grin

I just need to investigate again what baby clothes we've got and whether I need to buy any more and I think I'm done. Do I really need a dressing gown for hospital? I have a thick warm one for winter, but I don't really want to buy one to use once!?

welcome geeandfeesmum hope things settle down for you.

yes badguider struggling to concentrate. my first week dedicated to writing my phd chapter has looked a bit like this Monday: grocery shopping, finished my book whilst lounging under a tree in the park all afternoon, evening swim. Tuesday: 9-10am yoga in the living room, 2 hour lunch with friend followed by unplanned 2 hour walk through the woods looking for a swimming hole in the local river. Wednesday: am chatting with an aussie friends daughter staying with us, 2 hours reminding myself what my phd was about, lunch with said aussie, then sorting out a taxi when she realised her flight was last night not this morning (!?). Thursday am, slept late due to wriggling bump, late brekkie in the garden, bit of book reading, hospital bag shopping ... ooh is it lunch time already? Then I have a massage booked for 2pm. All in all going swimmingly! Grin

jennimoo · 11/07/2013 12:39

Todays my first 'day off' of mat leave (ie DD is at childminder!) and it's lovely to just potter around, although have been trying to do some of the homework for a work course I'm trying to finish...

I haven't even attempted to check work email or anything either, just not interested!

Gee and fees mum - hello! I've been getting pains the last few days and that sort if feeling. Think I was a little 'backed up' and baby would keep moving a pushing against my digestive system causing done nasty pains. Should start taking my fybogel again I guess!

Not impressed looking at the weather coming up: seems no end to this pregnancy unfriendly heat wave!
