I agree with everyone else. I only want it to be the MN people. There's no rational reason for this but that's just how I feel. At the risk of sounding a bit "kill the pig..." I can't be doing with chat about diapers and other American things. Sorry. Heat and tiredness has perhaps made me a little close minded.

I feel the bleeding gum pain. Minging.

ION baba has been kicking up a storm today. I thought it was supposed to get quieter in there after 30 weeks!

kimjayne · 10/07/2013 06:56

thought id add to the Iron level chat. ive been on prescribed Iron tablets for 4 weeks now and (touch wood) so far ive had no tummy issues although I always tale them before eating which apparently helps.
My iron level at early blood test was 129 then dropped to 109 at 28 weeks so im the same as you Emma (... it was Emma wasnt it?).
My midwife told me yesterday that 109 is borderline so not to worry too much. if your results were 110 or higher then you wouldnt be classed as low. So we are only minimally lower than average.
I really want a waterbirth and got told during my hospital tour that if my iron levels were low during labour then I wouldnt be allowed in the pool Sad so im eating lots or iron rich food. Saag curry is yummy but I actually quite enjoy spinach Grin (not noticed any popeye style muscles developing yet though ..... quite the opposite in fact! proper chubba chubba arms at the minute! fit).

RunningBear78 · 10/07/2013 07:32

I also feel strangely uncomfortable about the new randoms, despite not knowing any of you either, we have shared intimate knowledge of each other which demonstrates a shared level of trust!

Could the admin uninvite them from the group?
I was also wondering about changing the name to something totally random so people searching wouldn't find it, unless they were also here and know what to search for?

Ion, can babies be too overactive? I know many of you have had bumps with quiet days but mine was going crazy yesterday afternoon, evening and most of the night. Really quite uncomfortable and made me feel a bit worried that he wanted to get out ...but I think I was getting claustrophobic on his behalf Hmm how do you know if the baby is getting distressed!?

Uber wow and exciting for those with planned cd in mid august! Actual real babies!!!!

Think I might sort out this hospital bag thing this week ...Blush

dakomponist · 10/07/2013 07:36

I would be happy if we could change the fb group to a private one.

kimjayne · 10/07/2013 07:45

just a quick question. Im going on a hen do this weekend and only know 3 people out of around 15. we are going to a spa for the morning and will be swimming. I only have a bikini which (if all goes well) im planning to wear for the waterbirth. I cant really be arsed buying a brand new full swimsuit for the sake of 1 day but also feel my huge bump might gross some of the girls out (none of them have kids yet). Just wondered what the general consensus was on bare bumps in public????
Gonna have to tackle my overgrown leg hair and attempt to pain my toe nails too Sad yikes!

andadietcoke · 10/07/2013 07:54

kimjayne I wouldn't but I'm a fatty - I'm always very jealous of people who look lovely with their bumps out. I did get my swimming costume from next clearance for £8 though. I think you'll be fine, and if you're comfy who cares what other people think?! (I'm in a proper I don't care what people think strop at the moment, it's quite liberating!)

runningbear Marjorie was going crazy most of yesterday. Google seemed to say that activity peaked around 32-33 weeks so maybe babybear is just early. I was concerned because I'm sure I'd read that over activity was a change in activity as much as reduced activity is - will see how she is today.

Am so tempted to do a raindance. Overheat if I use the dream genii so have woken up all achey and grumpy. Full of hayfever because it's unbearable to sleep with the window closed. Waddled around shops yesterday only to be told cheerfully that at least I don't have long left. Ha. Not complaining though, oh no.

flipflump · 10/07/2013 08:02

I used to swim in a London pool that was hugely popular with young families. There would be pregnant women in bikinis there weekly. I don't think you need to worry about grossing others out and it would be a huge waste of money for one day. Go for it and show your bare bump with pride, your body is doing something amazing right now.

Agree with you all re. the randoms. I feel uncomfortable with it too. Hopefully Fl0 will be along with a solution soon.

Kittenkatzen · 10/07/2013 08:06

kimjayne I say bugger what the other girls think and go for it. I'm normally a tankini girl as have never had a nice flat tummy, but at this stage even I would feel ok about baring my bump, especially in a group of girls Smile

runningbear did you eat anything out of the ordinary yesterday? I only ask as I had a cinnamon pastry for breakfast as a treat the other day and baby quite literally went bonkers or the whole day!

Fozziebearmum2be · 10/07/2013 08:17

I bought a tankini the other week for a spa day but did think it was a waste of money, if you don't mind people peering (not your friends, more other people there-they wouldn't stop staring at me...Shock) then go for it. I can't imagine anyone would be bothered. At my gym, pg women wear bikinis all the time.

Bear-I've noticed my lo's active days are getting stronger and stronger. I imagined it was to do with its body getting bigger and so me being able to feel the kicks more and also feel little movements where i prob couldnt a few weeks ago. But agree that it does go mad for various foods..!

RunningBear78 · 10/07/2013 08:20

kimjayne def go with a bikini, be proud if yr bump, you will look amazing and no one will be grossed out.

I was doing yoga in the living room yesterday morning in a crop top and fishermans pants when a guy called round to read the electricity metres ...dont think my huge bump scared him too much!?

I was wondering if my increased ice cream intake might be to blame for hyperactivity, but I ate more in France a few weeks ago and it didn't have this effect. Will maybe try a day off ice cream and chocolate and see what happens. Thanks dietcoke hope he's just having an early hyperactive phase!

badguider · 10/07/2013 08:22

I'd get my bump out but my bikini has become indecent on my boobs so I bought a cheap tankini top in black and wear it on top. The double layer over my stupid balloon boobs really helps.

I'm glad its bit just me with a ridiculously active baby. 3rd day now, day and night, flipping, kicking turning and poking limbs in my fanjo. All the way through our hospital tour last night too. Tour was Confusedhard work. 21/2 hours of 73 power point slides and a quick look at the pool. DP was not amused either. I was on the brink of passing out- hospital heat/day at work/no food/28 degrees outside/boring woman- meh Hmm
I agree with making the fb private I'm even too scared to upload a photo incase I do it wrong and publish it to my news feed for all to see. Maybe I could send one to someone privately and they could upload for me?
Ion I've had a sudden urge for feta cheese. Tesco had none last night and I proper sulked. Day off work today...shall be spent mostly eating and Internet shopping!

Readytosettle · 10/07/2013 09:09

I was reading ahead on my what to expect app this morning and at 32 weeks it says expect to feel the baby moving much more now as they grow stronger. It also said you'll start to be able to feel little hands & feet...

I wouldn't worry about getting ur bump out, but expect to be stared at a lot! I get people staring when my bump is covered so I imagine it's even worse when it's out and proud... word of warning on the spa- hot tub, sauna & steam are all off limits to preggo's so you'll be on pool only...might be worth taking s book/robe so u can chill at the side while everyone else is using the facilities.

Readytosettle · 10/07/2013 09:16

Correction, it was the 'I'm expecting' app, not 'what to expect'..

jemimahpuddleduck · 10/07/2013 09:22

Morning All

I'm glad the FB group had been brought up I feel exactly the same but thought it was just me being a bit precious!

I know I don't post on here very much but I check in to read the posts hourly daily! And live hearing what you've all got to say so am going to make sure I make more of an effort to join in!

Kim I would wear the bikini too.

I think I have quite a chilled out baby, I feel movements throughout the day but still don't think they move all that much although I have nothing to compare it to. I also think they are breech or transverse as haven't felt much above belly button.

JammyTummy · 10/07/2013 09:22

Kim I think if anything a bunch of girls would be taken with your bump, rather than the other way around! They might feel sorry for you for not being able to join in on the cocktails, but from how I know my friends are (and I was) with preggos- they love it! Also, bumps are beautiful! There's a whole baby in there so wear it with pride!

My bean is the wriggliest thing ever, very partial to kicking me in the ribs and tickling my bladder. Particularly seems to be a fan of doing aerobics when I'm trying to go to sleep (also yesterday during baby class I looked like I was smuggling a hyper puppy under my top).

RakeABedOfTyneFilth · 10/07/2013 10:00

just a thought about the fb binning randoms issue... if it is too sudden and without explanation, and they do a Google search to try to find the group again, the most obvious search words will probably bring them right here to this thread where we discuss how to ditch them!! A first step could be to change the title to Sept 2013 UK babies. And then just go quiet for a while.

33 weeks yesterday and I definitely agree that baby movements have been more significant last week or so. Same pattern but just more of them. I have a proper beach ball going on and can't imagine getting any bigger. I am so stiff and slow moving, I am having trouble imagining all that moving around and changing positions in labour that I need to do, especially if it's the whopper I suspect...

CheeseStrawCraving · 10/07/2013 10:10

Agree with the FB take down, where's Fl0 when you need her?! Can anyone ask a friend to check what they can see with regards to the group? I really have no idea if everyone can see my poo tales, nobody has mentioned anything as yet...

I'm having a lovely sunny week in Woolacombe bay in Devon this week, DH trying to surf but too flat, so don't feel too jealous! I'm sunbathing and walking the puppy, it's bliss!

Bear I re Jon it's the ice cream! My mw said that if h hasn't wiggled for a while have a v cold drink so may be the cold of the ice cream!

ION someone (Jenni?) asked me if I'd ordered my cheeky wipes yet, was going o but they were due to be delivered this week whilst on hols so have held off... Will keep my eyes peeled for FB offers, thanks!

CheeseStrawCraving · 10/07/2013 10:13

ALS I, sorry for multiple long posts, but I am suffering v bad with hay fever and am sneezing loads. Every time I sneeze I get an excruciating pain in my tummy, like I've pulled a muscle, IYSWIM? However, I know this is also where a baby foot is as he kicks me on a regular basis in the same spot.... Do you think it is just bub or is it possible the combination of foot and pulled something is doing me some damage??

andadietcoke · 10/07/2013 10:15

cheesestraw I don't think anyone else can see anything - nothing I put on appears on DH's timeline for me, or on mine.

frogchops · 10/07/2013 10:20

Everytime I sneeze cheese I need to sit up an almost brace myself by tensing my stomach otherwise it hurts...duno if it sounds the same??

Readytosettle · 10/07/2013 10:39

I'm in Devon this week too Cheese, visiting SIL in Bideford/Westward Ho earlier in the week and now down in a cottage in Dartmouth....loving the sunshine, not loving being woken up by the seagulls at 4am! Ah well, at least all I have to do all day is read, eat & nap :-)

Readytosettle · 10/07/2013 10:43

Ps. I wouldnt worry too much about the fb group, as long as your own privacy settings are good. Not too keen on the randomers either, I'm sure Fl0 can block them without too much trouble...

RunningBear78 · 10/07/2013 11:12

cheese I've had days when sneezing so much hurts my stomach muscles, so entirely possible that you've pulled something.

It is only 11am and I'm feeling a bit sick, so not eating ice cream or chocolate today is going to be hard Sad but I'll give it a go. Very relieved to hear other bumps are wriggling a lot too at the moment. I'm sure they can't get claustrophobic, but I was a bit worried I know I'm an idiot

I wonder if something that doesn't have September &/or babies in the name might stop people wanting to join/finding the fb group? Otherwise, the administrator just needs to double check a mn name for anyone wanting to join, and say sorry no to those that aren't on this thread, there seem to be quite a few now.

When we get the fb thing sorted, I'll post a cool bit of video of my bump looking like he's trying to escape sideways! Grin

badguider · 10/07/2013 11:23

How do you know what way up your baby is?

For some reason I am feeling really quite paranoid that mine is breech still.
I didn't feel any movements till about 23/24 weeks due to anterior placenta and then ALL the kicks were very low in my pelvis and downwards until well into 29 weeks. Then he moved but he's still kicking to the side just above my hipbone now, I can't see how he can be head down, I can't really feel anything from the outside that I can identify as head, body or limbs...
Also, my lower abs are still pretty tight, down around my public bone and between my hip bones, so i'm worried that means he won't be able to get his head down there... somebody in my ante-natal preg yoga had a terrible time with an ecv and breech ending up in cs due to a strange shaped uterus and i've just got a strong feeling mine will be the same.

My next MW is on monday at 32+4 so I will ask then, but in the meantime any ideas??
