Sorry Natalie crossed posts a bit there - bit of a personal suggestion but could you try having a relaxing bath with a touch of 'self-pleasuring' thrown in? Don't know if it's the extra blood flow to the area and womb contractions but it always seems to get this baby on the move Blush

Agree with Pseudo though, if you are really worried, best to get some proper reassurance.

Just laid on the sofa and poked my belly all over the place and jiggled my belly and have felt a few small kicks think ill give my midwife a txt in the morning as baby has been quiet all weekend and see if she can either come to mine like she usually would or if I can go to one of her clinics just for her to check the heart rate but its re assuring to have felt a few kicks. He only respond to me bullying him tho he isn't volunteering any kicks x

MotherOfNations · 30/06/2013 22:01

That's good Natalie maybe he's just having a lazy day.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 30/06/2013 22:04

So glad you've felt a few movements but the text to the midwife sounds a good plan too.

Have you had a very physically busy weekend (with all the strawberry picking)? I tend to find this baby is quieter the busier I am. I never ever feel the slightest kick or twinge when I'm out walking.

GTbaby · 30/06/2013 22:05

Bibs - used muslins for feeding. Then bandana style for drooling. Bibs for weaning. But have now moved to a plastic bib as food stains don't come out of bibs.

Monitor- I got angel care movement and sound. Used mat while lo was in my room. Sound never worked so had to return it. Then got TT one for £30! I preferred angel care. But we only use it for sound now so it's ok.
You can adjust the sensitivity of the mat.

Off to get ready for my first day back after mat leave!

Can you text the midwife tonight Nat? I don't want to continue on a downer but some Count The Kicks thread on here have questioned 'reactive' movements as an indicator that all is well. Sorry to go on about it...

PseudoBadger · 30/06/2013 22:09

It's important to trust your instincts though, so if you are happy to wait then tell me to bugger off :o

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 30/06/2013 22:10

Oh, does anyone happen to have any experience of the NCT bednest - bedside crib thing?

Thinking of getting one but trying to weigh up whether the 6 month rental is the better option?

TheFalconsmistress · 30/06/2013 22:15

Checking in decorated the hall today so away to bed exhausted will catch up tomorrow. 27 Weeks today Smile

Flyer747 · 30/06/2013 22:19

Bridget and the self pleasuring I laughed out loud at that... Now we all know what you get upto in the bath, hehe :-)

I sympathise with the hobbies Bridget, my last long term relationship he was mad for kite surfing, I never saw him and he was always going away somewhere. My DP now is a bit of a workaholic although I can't complain because he is very good to me really. What hobby does your DP do?

Flyer747 · 30/06/2013 22:21

Glad to hear you've felt a little movement Nat x

claphammama · 30/06/2013 22:31

I usually prefer shower to bath and have baths very rarely. But now I've realised that I was just doing it all wrong!! he he

hope you feel better flyer and glad you are feeling movements Natalie

Flyer747 · 30/06/2013 22:55

Less that 100 posts in and we've already managed to lower the tone haha!

MrsO27 · 30/06/2013 23:10

Glad you've had some movement natalie. I've had a couple of days this week with less movement but I read somewhere they're sleeping a lot more now so have put it down to that. Would contact your mw though just to be on safe side.
Thanks for the baby monitor advice. Will have a look at the angel care one. Just worried that a monitor will make me worry more!

claphammama · 30/06/2013 23:46

haha need to have some fun!

first day back in the office tomorrow after a week off... mixed feelings. will need to count my remaining days again to keep going!

Flyer747 · 30/06/2013 23:51

Good Luck tomorrow clapham. Just think a few more weeks and you'll be on a beach in Greece relaxing then not long left after that Smile

Slippysnow · 01/07/2013 06:57

I saw that an Angel care monitor was on sale in Argos the other day, maybe worth checking out.

natalie one of my pregnancy apps the other day said that the baby's heart beat can be heard with a stephoscope this week. I was quite surprised (hope it wasn't wrong) so you might not need to spend money on dopplers. However, I did see one on Argos for £16. No I'm not an Argos sales person ;)

claphammama · 01/07/2013 07:36

thanks for reminding me flyer :-) hope you are feeling better today and enjoy your days off!

Natalieand · 01/07/2013 10:29

So I texted the midwife this morning and explained I've felt either none or very little movement this weekend and isit too early to be kick counting (25 weeks today) and she text back and said have a cold sweet drink and a lay down and see what happens but they generally say not to kick count until 28 weeks but I should be feeling a generous amount of kicks on a daily basis still and if I haven't felt anything by 11am this morning she would get a colleague out to my house to check for a heart beat as she is off today then about ten minutes later she texted me again to say she's passed my number on to another midwife to come and see me today to make sure everything is ok so currently on sofa with a chocolate bar and full fat coke willing the baby to beat me up lol.

Wickedgirl · 01/07/2013 10:42

I hope you start getting lots of wiggles soon

roofio87 · 01/07/2013 10:58

Natalie very glad you have a very helpful and proactive mw! better safe than sorry. hope he starts moving soon.
I read this week that if your partner puts his head on ur stomach he might be able to hear the hb!?!? I can't quite believe that one my stomach is so noisy I don't think he'd be able to hear past that!lol

notsoold · 01/07/2013 11:00

Natalie....is lo kicking yet????
Xx

Natalieand · 01/07/2013 11:01

Nope nothing yet. I'm getting panicky to be honest and I haven't heard from the stand in midwife yet to arrange a time to see me so I've just text my proper midwife again

Natalieand · 01/07/2013 11:20

Going to clinic to be seen at 1.30 xxx

PseudoBadger · 01/07/2013 11:21

Can you not just call the hospital triage/labour ward? I'm sorry you're still worried :(
