I have no symptoms either Shropshire. My boobs hurt and I'm tired but that's it. I'm sure I've imagined the whole thing!

I'd definitely go to the doctors somany. There are options to help with ms. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm not sure about early scans. We had one last week and it helped that they could see a heartbeat but they also saw cysts and a hematoma which I wouldn't have worried about otherwise. There really wasn't anything to see either. It was an undentifiable blob. So I'd hold off for the 12 week scan if you can but I know that time is really dragging atm. My scan seems like weeks ago. Hmm
I've got a lot of distractions atm with our kitchen being redone and having to cope with the entire kitchen and dining room stuffed into our living room. Getting a bit irritated by the workmen not turning up. We have a .packed 2 months ahead which is daunting but I also hope it makes the time go a bit faster.
Is anyone elses bloating issues making them look 4-5 months pregnant at times?

Back from a week in sunny Somerset and I've just about managed to catch up with all the posts.
Heartfelt hugs to all those with problems and sickness. I've also got awful sickness and the twisty roads of Somerset did not help. I've frequented many a layby over the last week! Last time round I just completely lost my appetite but had very little nausea, this time I have lost my appetite again but mainly due to all day/night sickness. I'm keeping toast down and I'm not sick all the time but just praying for it to end. Makes me think I had it easy last time round but I still moaned like hell Blush
Anyone else craving jelly babies? Psychological nightmare that one, eating babies!!

sprite - I think most midwives will oly try to hear a heartbeat at 16 weeks and even then they preface it with lots of 'we can't always find it, pls don't worry'

Cherryoats very sorry to hear your news as well, all the best of luck for next time.

Middy sounds like you've been through the wringer - hope you get to see that heartbeat next time.

Barebranches give the hospital a call and check they've received your referral. They do get lost and they may be able to give your appt date.

Shropshiremummy - I think boobs, weeing and tiredness is pretty much most early pg symptoms covered apart from nausea isn't it? :-)

I've got an appt with my midwife tomorrow so should go and put some notes together about history, I'll never remember it. Looking forward to it though, another little step. I think I'm 9 weeks today.

Bearfrills · 02/07/2013 09:25

I am so sick this morning too. I haven't been sick thankfully (I feel so bad for you Champagne) but my stomach is rolling and it feels like I'm going to be sick soon. I literally curled on the sofa, MNing with one hand and poking goldfish crackers into my mouth with the other and occasionally whimpering I can't move or I'll be sick, I know it. Thankfully DS is at nursery until 12 and DD is having a nap.

I need to feel better before work at 2 o'clock!

Somanychanges · 02/07/2013 09:39

Have you been that bad since 6 weeks champagne?

I don't know how long I can last like this as I am so hungry. I can't even keep a cracker down.

The only good thing is that I am managing to keep a couple of sips of water every half hour down.

I am just worried about taking meds so early. I think I started at 7 weeks with my first and 8 weeks with my second taking meds.

I was hoping not to take them at all this pregnancy. Was praying it would be different.

jazzcat28 · 02/07/2013 09:48

thingy I have a serious bump going on at the moment! That combined with huge boobs and the fact I've been on a very public diet since January (2st lost before BFP) means that I think my colleagues and friends have probably all guessed what's up! Still keeping it quiet for now though.

I really feel for you lovely ladies who are suffering with sickness. I feel lucky in a way it hasn't hit me yet, but equally kinda want a symptom other than sore boobs and tiredness to confirm I truly am with child!

No news on my midwife booking in appt yet let alone scan. I'm so impatient!

Anyone fussy about eggs with runny yolk? I know all the guidance says to had boil/fully cook eggs due to risk of salmonella, but aren't red lion stamped eggs free of salmonella anyway? I had a runny egg yesterday for breakfast and had a dodgy stomach this morning so now of course am in major panic mode...

jazzcat28 · 02/07/2013 09:49

oops, hard boil obviously..

EeyoreIsh · 02/07/2013 09:53

jazz I wouldn't worry about the egg. I'm sure it's fine. I'm learning that a dodgy tummy is just part of the early pregnancy fun!

so sorry to hear that some of you are really sick. I've given up trying to get into work, I went in last Friday, left early and crawled straight into bed when I got home. I've not been sick yet (thankfully, as I'm scared of being sick) but I've felt really nauseous and have had an awfully upset tummy. I can work from home thankfully.

Bearfrills · 02/07/2013 09:59

I've just to drag myself through this week and next and then I'm away on holiday for a week. The only bit I'm dreading is the journey with feeling so sick.

If I remember rightly from my previous pregnancies, when I was partially to a runny yolked egg sandwich, supermarket chickens are vaccinated against salmonella so the risk of catching any nasties from the eggs should be really quite low. I would have an allotment chicken runny egg but a Tesco/Asda, etc one should be okay.

Now if only they could make pate safe ...

Bearfrills · 02/07/2013 10:00

*wouldn't have an allotment chicken runny egg

EeyoreIsh · 02/07/2013 10:03

mmmmm pate Envy DH had pate the other day, I was most jealous!

jazzcat28 · 02/07/2013 10:54

I only buy supermarket free range eggs which have the red lion stamp so hopefully ok.

Currently addicted to nutella on toast! third slice today

Sprite21 · 02/07/2013 10:56

Ladybee I was 9 weeks yesterday, yay! It still feels really slow.
I would agree on waiting on the scan. Besides, it's so much more exciting to see it for the first time when it's fully formed and they really do look like babies in the 12 week scan (well at least I thought so, my friend said it looked like an alien).
Anyone else feeling more relaxed about foods second time around? I was super careful the first pregnancy but now I feel it's all a little overblown and besides I'm really limited on what I can eat anyways.
Sympathies to those of you feeling really sick. I am queasy but have managed not to throw up at all. Still, I miss enjoying my food...

Hey ladies, sorry to hear cherryoats sad news and sorry to hear that sickness seems to be kicking in for more of us.

I didn't feel too horrific yesterday - wasn't sick for a change - but then that just started me worrying "is everything okay?!"

Today I feel awful again and had to actually just take a break from posting to go and be sick (I'm blaming the "runny eggs" imagery lol Wink).

I'm off work at the moment thank god as I doctor was really understanding when I spoke to her. I'm a teacher so just couldn't cope - looking after a whole class when feeling like death was bad enough but now I'm puking throughout the day i just couldn't do it. Feel guilty being off but atleast it's nearly end of term so my classes have finished their courses so they aren't falling behind.

I'm still feeling really horrid but resting is definitely helping over all, even though I feel really sick and am alas being sick a fair bit I am coping with it better now I can sleep a bit more and not have to worry about dragging myself through a work day. I say to the other ladies that are feeling this bad, if you can take a bit of time off do. I know people say "it's not an illness" but I'm sorry - if you're vomiting and fatigued and feel dreadful you're ill no matter what the cause. Big hugs to you all x

Shropshiremummy2b · 02/07/2013 11:37

I miss full fat, ice cold, straight from the can, coca cola. I know I'm allowed it but due to the caffeine and my ever increasing gut I feel like I shouldn't. Oooooh and I'd use that to wash down the juiciest, blue steak ever with stilton sauce. Mmmmmm.

Hope I haven't just made any of you yak. Sorry if so.

Bleurgh steak! But god I would love to eat some Stilton!

I can't remember how much caffeine is in normal coke but I'm pretty sure it's less than coffee - were "allowed" 200mg a day of caffeine and I think coke is about 60mg. Could be wrong tho. I know that I've had a coffee and a diet coke in a day and its been within the recommended limits. If you want to avoid caffeine could you have another fizzy drink like lemonade or tizer or something (although I'm not sure if that has caffeine it or not) x
