slouching I had curry the night it all started dont know if that was the cause! Smile that's my kick to get you off the sofa to make curry! (Mine was actually a microwave one cos I was knackered!)

Thinkingof4 · 27/06/2013 13:35

shelley congratulations! Your post was lovely, a sleepy but in love kind of post Smile

photographer well done you! That's a great achievement anytime never mind at the end of pregnancy

persuasion hope your new washing machine has arrived

icing hope you are feeling better - or maybe being sick was the start o something?

dinky your dh must have had a great time, lucky him!

Evelyn I'd much rather have family staying elsewhere, but can understand your frustration!!

slouching you are brave going back for assessment thingy, ive got my appraisal in october and just kind of putting it to the back of my head... Still got loads to do too

Anyway sun is out again so I've changes into something sl cooler and am eating some frozen yoghurt (very yummy, thanks for the suggestion dinky!)
planning to rest for an hour or so while ds3 naps then off on school/nursery run and hopefully park if it's still nice. Ds1 also has school disco tonight so a busy afternoon and evening ahead
Tennis beckons meantime

Cheeseandbread · 27/06/2013 13:43

Woohoo well done Photographer!

Just baked some biscuits and now ironing while watching Wimbledon. DH normally iorns his own shirts but I'm getting though a big pile so that should make him happy.

Hospital bag is mostly packed- just need to put in some clothes for me (and a friend suggested a change of clothes for DH which I hadn't thought of...)

Still have school filing to do but keep pretending its bit there... Dinky I should have made myself do it straight away like you... Now it's the monster in the room or stuffed down the side of the sofa

I've started on the raspberry leaf tea... But I don't think I have the strong stuff. Is anyone else drinking any? What brand are you using?

Cheeseandbread · 27/06/2013 13:43

Bit there should read 'not there'

SlouchingPanda · 27/06/2013 14:14

Vinegar - afraid so... I haven't ticked all the boxes, so won't be progressing. Think the Head of School just wants to keep tabs and have a plan for when I return. I did float the idea of not coming but this was swiftly rejected by my college tutors I figure on balance it's probably best if I go to explain quite why I haven't met all of the competencies for this year. Seems sensible to come back at ST2 level for a bit anyway - no way I would want to come straight back to ST3!

Also, I'm not officially on maternity leave yet... 2 weeks annual leave first so don't feel I can argue. Still, I am dreading going and have been daydreaming of GDM, OC or other 'induce at 38 weeks and do not pass go' complications which would mean I can legitimately give it a miss! Wink. It's only 20 minutes of my life, then FREEDOM!

VinegarDrinker · 27/06/2013 14:24

Well at least they can't be too mean to you! My friend did her part 2 OSCE at 38/40 and swears she only passed out of sympathy! I agree re coming back at ST2 - definitely less pressure. I did 'too long' at ST2 technically as a consequence of changeover times, mat leave and going LTFT, but felt much better prepared because of it. I should be going back to a new Trust but have begged to go back where I am so I don't have to deal with a totally new LW etc and also the fear of not having operated for 7-8 months! Anyway good luck with it. If nothing else it gives you ammunition to go back to your unit/College Tutor and say 'right I need more time on LW/in theatre etc'.

(Apologies to rest of you for dull jargon-filled work chitchat)

VinegarDrinker · 27/06/2013 14:26

You've reminded me I have a T01 in my bag I need to post to my College Tutor so I can get my 2 T02s in before ARCP in Jan...

Thinkingof4 · 27/06/2013 14:39

cheese I'm drinking the clipper organic stuff- got it on amazon (6 boxes for less than £10!) and having 3 cups a day but no sure it actualy does anything! I quite like it, can be drunk cold (when I forget I've made it) and is a change from normal decaff tea. I think if you buy loose leaf tea it's maybe stronger but that just sounds like a faff to me!

dinkystinky · 27/06/2013 15:05

Just had a lovely 3 hour nap! I never normally sleep during the day so felt v decadent. Time for a late lunch and some Wimbledon now I think. Did have plans for an art gallery and movie today - will just have to implement them tomorrow instead.

Evelyn - glad the end is in sight with the building work. Our painter guy should be finished tomorrow - quite looking forward to getting the house back to myself. Photographer - congrats on passing, great stuff! Thinking - hope your evening isn't too tiring.

Cheese - am drinking the Napier's loose least tea from Amazon. Smells and looks like pond water. Bet the tea bags are nicer!

Twinklestars is being induced today (she posted on FB). Looks like the babies are arriving thick and fast now!

evelynj · 27/06/2013 16:36

Photographer-congrats! That's amazing-best feeling in the world, until you get a little baby, what an achievement!

MightBeMad · 27/06/2013 16:37

Good luck to twinklestars.

Welcome tryitonfirsize.

Why on earth do I feel so upset and anxious today?! My brain has gone into total doom mode and I'm panicking about everything. Even went and got baby's heartbeat checked at the birth centre but that didn't have the calming effect I was hoping for because having found the hb the midwife instructed me to go home and monitor movements and arrange to get more monitoring tomorrow if I'm still worried because the overalls tern is more important than heading the hb... I know that's true but I just wanted sine one to say 'baby sounds fine, no need to worry'. :(

MightBeMad · 27/06/2013 16:38

overall pattern and someone. D'oh! What's happened to my brain!

Cheeseandbread · 27/06/2013 17:03

Welcome tryitonforsize

Thanks Dinky and thinking for raspberry leaf tea advice.

Mightbemad I think it's normal to worry at this late stage. We have all got so far and now it's just the last bit... With more of us finishing work we also have time to think about movements rather than work... I know that's the case with me anyway. By all means get it all checked I'm just saying I think it's normal to over think things...

PhieEl06 · 27/06/2013 17:13

Hello all!! Wriggly wiggly baby today who is making my tummy look like it's been invaded with an alien!

Slouching that's fabulous haha! Fitting into a size 6/8 now would make my day! Agree with Icing on looking the size of the label! Wink

Icing I hope you're feeling better now.

Shelley oh my, congratulations! I hope it worked out the way you wanted re. skin to skin after the birth. Smile

Congratulations on passing your test photographer, good on you for scaring the examiner, I hope he was nice! Smile

Slouching that's what these few weeks are for, lazing about on the sofa not doing anything! Enjoy the relaxation!

Cheese I've packed a change of clothes for OH, some of his most liked snacks (Haribo) & a pair of slouchy trackie bottoms incase I'm in labour for what turns into days! Need to keep him happy because otherwise he'll just annoy the hell out of me.
I'm drinking raspberry leaf tea, it's only the 30% stuff from Holland & Barrett but I quite like the taste & have 4 cups a day.

Welcome tryitonforsize!

Good luck to Twinklestars, hadn't checked on FB today!

Wow that was a long post... Off to make scones now then going to Mothercare & Kiddicare for a bedding, cot & changer shop later, seen as I had a lovely £150 gift card for Mothercare from my work colleagues. Not burning a hole in my pocket at all!
36+5

dinkystinky · 27/06/2013 17:23

Mightbemad - babies have sleep patterns at this stage so there can be long periods when they don't move. Bean has been abit quiet today with only a few shuffles - if its still like that tomorrow will call the birth centre to be checked out in the morning (though rather hoping Bean will get a shuffle on so I don't have to as its my 10 year wedding anniversary tomorrow and I can think of better ways to spend the day!). Try your hypnobirthing fear release exercises - they are great at times like this.

Cheese - I have packed a change of outfit for dh. Always handy in case baby pees/wees on him!

Phie - you sound like you're turning into some kind of domestic goddess with all that baking youre doing!

PhieEl06 · 27/06/2013 18:13

It's my aim dinky, I cannot cook at all! So my best friend thought it would be hilarious to buy me the Great British Bake Off's Learn to Cook which is aimed at children, I'm trying to make the most of these few weeks I have by baking tasty treats! Smile

dinkystinky · 27/06/2013 18:50

Its a great aim Phie! My DH always used to be the better cook/baker in our relationship - since having kids my skills in the kitchen have improved (cant say I love it though but can tolerate doing it).

Anyone using Mama mio stuff - they have a 2 day 30% off sale on their website. Use code SUMMER For 30% off (and free P&P).

Hi all - oh I am not keeping up at all, but lurking, congrats to new arrivals! Baby boy no-name-yet arrived nearly on the A40 fast and furious labour but all well here.

cheekbyjowl · 27/06/2013 19:05

congrats photographer. not an easy task!

mightbe I got the miseries two nights ago. I guess we all must feel anxious and the hormones don't help. but chat to us if you want a rant.

phie is the book good. I too need to find my inner mary berry...as soon as my mat leave stats I might buy some scales for baking

dinkystinky · 27/06/2013 19:10

Wow, congratulations on the safe and swift arrival of your ds Ohgood. Hope life as a family of 4 is going well x

SundaySunshine · 27/06/2013 19:15

Congratulations shelly what a great little post, hope it all worked out logistically for you and you got the birth plan you were after.

Great news photographer on passing your test (crazy as you were for having it just now) enjoy the wonderful sense of freedom it gives you.

Good luck twinkle hope all goes well.

Well I'm about to hit my due date, the first of the group I think unless anyone has heard from cottonsocks at all, and it looks like I'm going to be late! How annoying! Went to mw today had to wait 1.5 hrs to be seen, I was so hot and bothered and generally uncomfortable (being kicked mercilessly in the bladder) that I couldn't face having a sweep done - not too sure on the benefits of them anyway?
So booked in for induction on the 10th which is my mums birthday! Good news is that I'm 3/5 palp so things deffinitely moving in the right direction, although still back to back which is bad news Sad

39+6 baby boy your eviction notice has been served!

cheekbyjowl · 27/06/2013 19:16

congrats ohgood. the a40 would've been dramatic. were you at qch? id love to hear the story of yours and shelleys births and the name when you decide it..was baby breech in the end?

dinky how will you celebrate your anniversary?

I have quiet movement days too, then I rest my laptop on my belly and unsurprisingly get told to shove off by sprog. I find I notice movements less when busy too
