Teddybear4 · 24/06/2013 13:43

Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

Becca - sounds like you have a stomach bug tbh suprised the gp hasn't tested you for salmonella or ecoli etc to make sure.

Feel better soon

Wuxiapian · 12/07/2013 14:59

Try not to worry, thatso. I had bleeding/browny pink discharge with both my DSs (stopping at about 17 weeks) and everything turned out fine.

Good luck, mummypig! I do not envy you one bit. I'm not coping well with the heat, at all. Trying to get stuff done as early as I can in the morning so I can seek refuge indoors for the rest of the day. I'm very lucky that DS1 is almost 15 and doesn't need dropping off/collecting from school!

I'm feeling very periody. Backache and cramping. Headaches I've had for weeks now!

Bring on the autumn!!

Sugarlump39 · 12/07/2013 16:46

I got a call from my midwife and have an early scan booked for next week - I will be 7+3 weeks. They want me to have it as I was on trimethoprim for the first two weeks, so they want to make sure bump is doing ok. Really nervous and remaking out!!!

Sugarlump39 · 12/07/2013 16:53

That should say freaking out! My bad :)

stephie101 · 12/07/2013 17:34

I've been getting slight cramps today in the pelvic area quite low down....bit anxious really as cant remember having these before, my boobs are huge and fairly sore today.....am i being worried for no reason?x

Beccadugs · 12/07/2013 18:05

Thanks for all your kind words everyone! Spoke to the GP again and he has given me some prochlorperazine, which I will be sending DH down to fill the prescription as soon as he gets home!

maybemyrtle · 12/07/2013 18:32

Hi, can I join you ladies please?

I'm 36, and 4-5 wks along with my first. Feeling very nervous - we've been ttc since Oct 2011. Had a mmc in March 2012 which was picked up at 12 wks. Got pregnant this time on 3rd cycle of clomid, so it's been quite a drawn out affair! Can't quite let myself believe that it's real yet, but DP and I are both so very excited.

Symptoms wise, I've been really hungry this week!! Also light spotting and period-type pains over the past 1-2 weeks. No morning sickness at all yet (thank god), boobs have grown though and are quite ouchy! I was utterly shattered a few weeks ago but this week that seems to have passed.

Oh, according to the due date calculator, if all goes well I should be popping in mid-March Grin

Looking forward to getting to know you all Flowers

IceNoSlice · 12/07/2013 19:30

April gosh how traumatic!! I don't think I would have been able to cope as well as you did.

Beccadugs and other folks who are suffering, I hope you GWS.

Welcome maybemyrtle, congratulations! I know what you mean about not believing it's real. Especially when I don't have any sickness. Although two possible symptoms today: sense of smell (DS's nappy was awful this morning) and hunger... Quite happily chomped my way through quite a few mini caramel shortcakes today. Blast those mini

IceNoSlice · 12/07/2013 19:32

Post too soon. Blast those mini treats, they fool you into thinking they're so small they don't count so you end up having 5...

MummyPig24 · 12/07/2013 19:59

I survived. All children were well behaved and when my friend picked up her dd at 3.30 she took my dd off with her.

I'm absolutely starving, I just haven't had time to eat today apart from a few nibbles at the party earlier.

Welcome newbies. Good luck everyone, we will be having scans soon to make sure our little babies are growing well!

floatyflo · 12/07/2013 20:12

Hi all,
Haven't been on here for ages! Haven't read back yet but just wanted to show my virtual face!

Am absolutely shattered. The tiredness is overwhelming at the moment. and I feel so bloated. And I keep thinking im having twins. Scan on 27th Aug, such a long wait to see if my inkling is correct!

How are we all this eve?

Souredstones · 12/07/2013 20:18

Got a letter through with my consultant appointment today. No midwife or scan appt though lol

MortifiedAdams · 12/07/2013 20:24

Same here. Docs appointment scheduled for 20th July and thats only to refer me to the MW! Then I have to wait for an apot for booking in then waitfor scan. Right faff!

The docs rang today with the results of my pee sample "I am pleased to confirm you are pregnant!" me: "yes" I've peed on three sticks, I dont need you to confirm it!

PiratesMam · 12/07/2013 20:44

I got my scan date today too - 28th Aug. Wondering what to do with the DCs - will have to tell a friend I think and get them to babysit!

MummyPig24 · 12/07/2013 20:49

I don't get my scan date till I see my mw on July 29th. I really want it to be twins!

Lambchop14 · 12/07/2013 21:03

I got my scan date yesterday. It's on the 28th Aug too! Feeling a big unwell this evening, sore head and feel sick. Hope it's not the start of morning sickness!

Coolhand · 12/07/2013 21:33

Lottie seem to remember my sister's hair fell out quite a lot in her pregnancy.

Thatssofunny I hope you're doing okay. Hope time moves quickly to the next test.

5am the sickness sounds miserable. Our hospital didn't offer the nuchal testing as standard last time, so we didn't request it. This time I'm with a different trust - don't know their policy so we'll see. We also have a 5/5.30 waker here - just ordered a gro clock (though he's still a bit young) - really hope we crack the early mornings before the next one arrives.

Becca glad you are getting a prescription now and hope it helps!

Just exhausted here but that seems to be fairly standard on here.

Hope everyone's feeling a bit better soon!

HotCrossPun · 12/07/2013 21:46

Anybody thinking of enjoying a nice glass of alcohol free wine this weekend - don't!

I just bought a bottle for £4 about the same as I spend on regular wine and it was horrible Grin

JuicyFatSteak · 12/07/2013 23:27

Hello, I've not been around for yonks but I'm the one who had donor egg IVF in the Czech Republic a few weeks ago. Two embryos were tansferred and my beta results were sky-high so we were told to expect twins. My symptoms have been brutal, too, from the first week after implantation. Brown sludge on the toilet paper since Wednesday and then red blood today had me in tears. My six week scan was already booked for today so I went with a very heavy heart. But...there is a baby! A tiny little peanut with a strong pumping heart! I'm so in love it's ridiculous Hmm

I've been booked for another scan two weeks today so feel very fortunate. My scan photo is in my gallery if anyone wants to know what's what in terms of size etc. Sorry if you think I'm being a silly bitch but I'm very proud Smile

I have been reading all your posts, by-the-way, and I'm really chuffed to be joining this jolly clan...

JuicyFatSteak · 12/07/2013 23:30

You've probably guessed from the absurd gushing in my last post that this is my first baby. I had a mmc last year at my eleven week scan and was unable to get pregnant after that, cos my almost-42-year-old eggs are fucked (probably) Smile

Souredstones · 12/07/2013 23:33

Oh I meant to ask is it standard to have a consultant appointment at 15 weeks or am I being referred because I have a myriad of health conditions? I thought I was just being sent to the midwife and that was that Hmm

MummyPig24 · 13/07/2013 03:07

Souredstones did the midwife tell you why you were being referred to a consultant? You must be considered high risk. Low risk pregnancies don't see a consultant unless its for an elective c-section or something like that.

Rockchick1984 · 13/07/2013 07:28

Ugh, just been horribly sick - with DS I had no MS, last pregnancy I just had nausea so wasn't expecting to actually throw up this time!!

Juicy congratulations on your little peanut!!!

Hi to everyone, been on holiday and got back last night - can't believe how busy this thread has got!!

Souredstones · 13/07/2013 07:28

I haven't seen a midwife. Haven't even got an appointment to see one yet.

Very confusing.

I presume it's because I have a lot of health issues so the gp referred me over.

Rockchick1984 · 13/07/2013 07:30

Re alcohol free drinkies, Koppaberg alcohol free is gorgeous - tastes exactly the same as the alcoholic one! Personally I have no issue with a glass or 2 of proper wine occasionally through pregnancy however wouldn't drink alcohol in first trimester. Oooh, the Bottle Green cordials mixed with lemonade are lovely too - not an alcohol substitute but yummy enough that you don't care :)
