Hi

Is there an antenatal thread for March 2013?

If not, can I start one? I've just found out Im expecting our third (and final!!) baby, due 4 March.

Fingers crossed tightly for a smooth ride (I had early bleeds with both my previous pregnancies).

Anyone else out there yet?

Hi ladies, thought I'd pop on and say hello, I'm from the April group this year, but lots of us ended up with march babies (dd born on the 14th). Good luck with your journeys, it really is amazing.

One thing we've found useful is we set up a Facebook closed group in the later stages of pregnancy and about 90 off us on there, it's really good and just locked down to us from the group. Maybe an idea for you as you get bigger and closer to due date. :)

toasterstrudel · 10/07/2013 10:10

little that's reassuring thank you! so were you only 4 weeks when you went for the scan in the end? i'm so confused with all the dating etc they do!

MummyPig24 · 10/07/2013 10:37

Mimili that was very restrained of you! Is she past 12 weeks?

mimili · 10/07/2013 10:43

she's not. just keen!! if my calculations are correct she will be due two or three weeks before me. (all being well of course)

Was desperate to say something but I other than parents we want to wait yet..

JK10 · 10/07/2013 14:30

That's so nice to have a friend who is pregnant at the same time!! I'm trying to convince one if mine!! Pleased everyone's scans are all good! Are u getting them done privately? I have felt very light headed today and had the shakes after a cup of coffee! Not had that with my others! Anyone else had that? X

LittleMachine · 10/07/2013 16:17

I had NHS scans at the EPU last time because of bleeding, but I'm going private this time, unless I have reason to go to the EPU.

MummyPig24 · 10/07/2013 16:35

JK10 I've been feeling a bit shaky and lightheaded the past few days. It has been hot though. I haven't drunk any coffee. I only drink it occasionally. I can't wait for my first scan. Not looking forward to having blood taken at the mw appt though!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 10/07/2013 16:35

I've been feeling pretty queasy since yesterday morning. It comes and goes, and is better after I've eaten, but I can't shake it off. I haven't been sick yet though.

fruitpastille · 10/07/2013 17:05

Hi everyone, can I join in? I am about 6 weeks but it's been an emotional rollercoaster! My bfp was a bit of a shock. We have 2 dcs already and were only half heartedly trying really not checking calendar and not much dtd tbh. Dd starts school in september so this month I was really thinking of going back on pill, clearing out baby stuff etc but then got positive. J must admit to feeling a bit wobbly and tearful about the whole thing, worried about money and impact on dcs. We have one of each so everyone will think we are crazy having a third. Then a few days in I started having some bleeding and I freaked out about that which made me think I did want no.3. Went to the gp who was cautiosly optimistic and gave me number for epau. I went for my scan this morning prepared for the worst only to see a heartbeat! So hear I am...

Name: Fruitpastille
Age: 37 (ancient apparently!)
EDD: 4th March
DCs: ds 6 and dd 4

mimili · 10/07/2013 17:10

Do most people tend to get private scans? Or wait til the normal 12/13th weeks.

What is everyone here doing?

I am trying so hard to relax, but the more stressed I get the more I realise I want this new part of my life, but I need to chill!!! Doesnt help that we have something on every night for the next fortnight and two weddings (close friends - that I would be expected to drink at!!)

mimili · 10/07/2013 17:14

P.s I am really finding this group helpful. Given that you shouldnt tell anyone at this stage. being able to moan and talk freely on here is a relief!

MortifiedAdams · 10/07/2013 17:20

Im just waiting for the 12 week.one and did last time.

I too am findingit hard to not discuss it with people. I had to stand up and do a presentation at work today and I did think I wonder how many people are looking at my, frankly huge and disproportionate, tummy!

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 10/07/2013 17:21

I've thought about a private scan but have done nothing about it yet. I might wait until my midwife appt in 2 weeks and see what date they give me for a scan. If it's before 12 weeks I probably won't bother with a private one.

I'm going to try and push for an earlier one as I conceived on fertility treatment and as a result of the number of follicles I produced I'm a higher risk for multiples Shock

Thatssofunny · 10/07/2013 17:30

A few people at work know by now, but that's because I'm likely to get exposed to all sorts of illnesses and need someone to keep an eye out for sickie kids (had suspected case of slapped cheek this week and I had been looking after that child). Found out my colleague is also pregnant, due at a similar time. Haha. I'll have a bump buddy, too.
If anything happens or we need to rush out of the room to throw up, there will be someone to take our classes without having to ask questions. It's not so easy in a job where you can't just go to the loo whenever you want.
However, haven't officially announced anything and will wait with that until after the holidays.

stephie101 · 10/07/2013 17:37

Stressful day with my mother....just in a crazy bad mood today with everyone. Booking in appointment 6/8/13 but with consultant led care...
hope all of you are chilled today :)

snapple21 · 10/07/2013 17:45

Still tired and nauseous here!! So hot isn't it xx

TWinklyLittleStar · 10/07/2013 17:58

Very hot! Went to the cinema, the air con was lovely. My husband has persuaded me to have a private scan (this evening, eek) to try to reduce my worrying.
Booking in appointment is on Tuesday.

I'm having surprisingly little nausea today, I do normally have a pathetically weak stomach.

stephie sorry about your stressful day.

Souredstones · 10/07/2013 18:29

Bored of this now.

Just want to get to the point I can tell everyone and then skip straight to the 'here's your baby' part.

Wish I'd not found out so bloody early now!!

fruitpastille · 10/07/2013 18:29

Sounds like there are a few teachers on here!

x0gawjus0x · 10/07/2013 18:49

MummyPig24 · 10/07/2013 19:40

I've just waited for the 12 week scan previously. I've never had reason to think something is wrong i.e bleeding so I have waited.

Still tired, boobs agony today!

RugbyWidow7 · 10/07/2013 19:45

Me too Stephie. I'm so grumpy and irritable. What I would give for for a large Wine right now!

April13 · 10/07/2013 19:48

Can I ask a question? Has anyone put on any weight yet? I'm only 6 weeks and didn't think inshouldve put weight on, but I have and I'm bloated and constipated to boot! Is it normal??? I was carrying an extra stone in weight anyway when I conceived and had planned to lose it first. I'm really worried about it x

Lottie345 · 10/07/2013 20:09

Hi april I'm six wks tomorrow and also bloated and constipated (though have IBS so not a surprise... TMI) and I'm with you rugbywidow on needing a vino. Have gone from nothing phasing me and being sweetness and light to a witch. An actual witch.

I've been lightheaded and not with it past two days... Can't wait til the weekend!

I'm also thinking i'll wait til 12 wk scan though MW said something on phone about referring me to a consultant because I've had cervical treatment for abnormal cells. They won't do my yearly smear (due this month) though I guess there'll be enough gazing at my cervix in the next 8 months not to worry!

LittleMachine · 10/07/2013 20:13

Thatsso, I sent a child home last week with slapped cheek too.
I should be immune now, as I caught it during my last pregnancy, but I wasn't taking any chances. I was very lucky to have a healthy baby after that. I was also exposed to rubella during my last pregnancy and lots of pox!
