Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

OP posts:

Cavort · 28/06/2013 12:43

I knew it, first baby has started a waterfall effect! Grin Please let this theory work on mine!

I am both over the moon and Envy Purple, but I think you've had a rougher ride than most and deserve for it to come to an end pronto.

BraveLilBear · 28/06/2013 12:44

Gosh Purple poor you - but sometimes tears aren't a bad thing.

Exciting news though for Sunday!

And Hazle you went for a midwife appt with no Kindle? You have my sympathies...

MotherOfCleo · 28/06/2013 12:48

How cool if baby Janey has indeed arrived! Grin

Oh god, I just googled her and she is much bigger than me, if she is only 4 months I am the queen mother! Plus I see what you mean about the weight, someone has been eating for 2 I think.

HazleNutt · 28/06/2013 12:50

I know, I know.. Usually iPhone is enough for just an appointment. DH will be back in a few hours either to bring stuff or hopefully go home.

MotherOfCleo · 28/06/2013 12:54

WOW, cross post. Oops.

Geez Purple, hope you're ok. Exciting times ahead though! Heres to lots of berry babies arriving before next week! come on babies get a wriggle on!

BraveLilBear · 28/06/2013 12:56

Lol Hazle I learnt early on that Kindle was a must-have for all appts... Average wait for MW here is 30 minutes - even with a booked time!

FX DH comes up with the goods (first choice golden ticket home, second choice Kindle and other goodies)

Frogcatcher · 28/06/2013 13:30

Ooh exciting times! Berry deliveries galore ahead!

I just googled Frankie too & OMG! No way is she only 4 months - if I'm suddenly going to pop to look like that in the next month then I'm going to have nothing to wear on holiday!

Purplemonster · 28/06/2013 13:56

Well they would have been inducing me Tuesday anyway I think so it's only a couple of days early but every little helps at this stage. Just a bit concerned that If the pain doesn't ease off enough to let me sleep I'll be so knackered by then I can't push a baby out anyway. Shame I can't self medicate with wine, an alcohol induced mini coma would do me the world of good right now!

Just waiting for a student health visitor now who is coming to bombard me with bloody leaflets meet me. After that I'm hoping everyone will bugger off and leave me alone to writhe in pain in relative peace

So Janey will have taken first place and I'm racing Hazle and Cavort for second, come on babies!

HazleNutt · 28/06/2013 14:01

On the one hand, I am fed up being pregnant and baby does not want to come naturally, it seems. But I would prefer to spend as much as possible of the early labour home and that would not happen if they induce. So at the moment I'm seriously grumpy and not thrilled with either option.

janey1234 · 28/06/2013 15:14

Quick update. Miles Harvey was born at 11.39 am. C section was absolutely fine. He was transverse breech so took a lot of wriggling to get out. All was going well but the his breathing became laboured and oxygen levels fell, so he's been taken to intensive care with DP and I'm waiting for my folks to come and cheer me up. Sick with worry obviously but am sure it's very common.

And for anyone who needs an epidural or spinal, it was easy and painless. So if you want one in labour, don't worry about that bit - was the easiest part of the whole thing!

Purplemonster · 28/06/2013 15:25

Flowers congratulations Janey! I'm so thrilled for you and I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine (though it's understandably worrying) and you'll be having lots of newborn snuggles soon.

Well done for producing the first Berry Baby! waits impatiently for a photo

MotherOfCleo · 28/06/2013 15:38

Ahh HUGE congrats Janey!!! What a lovely name, bet little Miles Harvey is absolutely gorgeous!

Hope the little man is all good and is back with his mummy soon.

Flowers Flowers Flowers oh and lets not forget the Wine Wink

janey1234 · 28/06/2013 15:42

He's now had to be incubated and I can't be with him. Grrr this sucks!! So worried and missing the newborn snuggles Hmm xx

MotherOfCleo · 28/06/2013 15:56

Ahh poor little man and poor you, thinking of you Janey.

I'm sure once his oxygen levels come back up he will be fine. He is in the right place.

Sending get well thoughts to little Miles, feel better little man, mummy wants lots and lots of cuddles!

Frogcatcher · 28/06/2013 16:07

Woo hoo congratulations janey! Welcome to the world Miles Harvey! As Purple says I'm sure he'll be out of IC & back with you in no time. I know a lot of people who's babies went there first & then were absolutely fine. Hope your RL support has kicked in now. Flowers

Purplemonster · 28/06/2013 16:12

Not that I'm trying to steal Janey's thunder or anything but...my waters just broke...and OH isn't answering his phone.

BraveLilBear · 28/06/2013 16:21

Massive congratulations Janey! Sending lots of love and Flowers to you - you must be worried.

He'll be with you soon enough and til then, DP will be making sure he's not alone. Hope your folks come and cheer you up soon - but we're all sending hugs and happy thoughts in the meantime even though my DP thinks I talk to fake people

Welcome to the world Miles, and welcome to motherhood Janey Grin

BTW... am I right in thinking Miles was a TeamGreen surprise? 1-0 to the boys if so!

Frogcatcher · 28/06/2013 16:21

Eeeeek purple! I take it home birth was not on the plan? Answer the phone Mr Purple!

BraveLilBear · 28/06/2013 16:22

OMG Purple - total cross post!

Don't panic... you'll have loads of time to yell at reach him.

How are you feeling? Was it all clear? Exciting times!

HazleNutt · 28/06/2013 16:30

Congats Janey, I'm sure baby will be with you for snuggles soon! And Purple don't panic, you don't need to rush to hospital straight away. What was it like, like in movies? No changes here, but everything is fine according to monitors.

BraveLilBear · 28/06/2013 16:37

Good news Hazle - I think... (the everything fine bit, rather than the no change bit) - was slightly worried that you'd gone a little quiet.

So by this time Monday, we'll have, what, maybe 3 Berry Babies? Grin

MotherOfCleo · 28/06/2013 16:53

whoop whoop, check out baby purple, all this talk of babies being born is obviously catching. Hope all goes smoothly for you purple!!!

Purplemonster · 28/06/2013 17:20

Thanks everyone, well I can honestly say you wouldn't want your waters to go in public! It's is NOT glamorous. Sitting on the sofa with just a pair of pants and maternity pad on and towel wrapped around me like a nappy and every time I try to move get gushes of fluid.
It's pretty gross but not as gross as the dogs trying to lick it up when they first went and I was incapacitated sliding around on laminate flooring trying to stop them as I leaked everywhere

Cavort · 28/06/2013 17:27

I am out visiting family and have sneaked a peek on my phone for news but I can't read and run with all this exciting stuff going on!

Huge congratulations Janey what wonderful news. I am so thrilled for you and your DP and what a great name! Not so great about the separation but hopefully he will be back with Mummy very soon. The HCP's really know their stuff and will sort him out in no time. Thanks

And check you out Purple!! Woop, woop! Have contractions started yet? I hope you have managed to get hold of Mr Purple. My mate who gave birth this week waters broke at 7pm and she was holding her DS by 1am. FX for you and keep us posted if you are not in too much pain.

BraveLilBear · 28/06/2013 17:28

Is it wrong to snigger at that image Purple? One must keep a sense of humour about these things, I always think Grin

Least it wasn't on your shiny clean car seat covers! Any word from missing DP yet?
