Hi everyone, hope you had good wkends, I'm looking forward to my holiday next Saturday (although won't be the usual sunbathing with wine flowing!), still can't wait just to relax especially as I'm feeling a bit rough and sick today! Work are piling on the pressure ahead of my hols but who cares, in one week I will be off for two weeks woop!

Just wondered when the really preggers people started to get lightning crotch/cervix pangs? So I can be prepared and not go into cervix panic!

No nesting here really. I am cooking again, but to be fair it's my favourite 'hobby' of choice, plus I'm bloody greedy and can't stand the thought of eating sarnies for the next fortnight.

A friend had a baby at 4am this morning. No need to discuss the labour but in her text she said that every single second of it (let's just say it wasn't short) was immediately worth it the second she met her son. She's not a soppy type AT ALL so it really must be worth it or she's riddled with hormones and not thinking straight Wink

janey1234 · 25/06/2013 12:07

Oh and hazle, I now think I've eaten my last ever gummy bear WinkGrin

HazleNutt · 25/06/2013 12:18

sorry Grin

Purplemonster · 25/06/2013 12:34

See, I knew one of you would know!

Janey, you might enjoy cooking but it still counts as nesting/domestic goddessness so you can't join my lazy loafing in the sofa club as you're doing something productive with your time, whereas I'm sighing about being bored then still wandering aimlessly around the house doing nothing and eating all the crap snacks I bought to take to hospital.

Cavort · 25/06/2013 13:21

I have unpacked my bags, put some necessary bits in the wash to freshen them up and haven't had a shower yet today, so right about now would be an inconvenient time to have the baby.

HazleNutt · 25/06/2013 13:40

Haven't had a shower and a bit sweaty from dog walk. Don't have snacks for hospital. DH has not packed anything (change of clothes etc) for himself. Wanted to dye my eyelashes and eyebrows (look like a rabbit without make up), but cba. Car almost out of petrol.
That should be inconvenient enough?

Cavort · 25/06/2013 13:58

Yeah I think we both must have it in the bag now Hazle. Wink

Purplemonster · 25/06/2013 14:18

I wandered around the supermarket for an hour yesterday and that didn't work. Perhaps I should dye my hair? I mean your waters breaking when you're covered in hair dye would be massively inconvenient wouldn't it?

HazleNutt · 25/06/2013 14:37

Hm might not be enough - early labour usually takes ages and you would have time to wash it off. Even though the half-developed colour could be interesting.

Should send DH out for a long drive somewhere without network coverage maybe? That should work in my case, as I'm still quite helpless in french.

Purplemonster · 25/06/2013 14:44

True and it doesn't have the necessary embarrassment factor that being out in public provides. Maybe I should book into a salon and get a professional to do it, that would be much more humiliating.

Do you think we're all getting a bit obsessed? Perhaps we need some of the berries who aren't giant desperate baby evictors to come and slap some sense into us?

Frogcatcher · 25/06/2013 19:59

Annoyed with people saying it will come when it's ready yet?! Wink

Had another scan today & a v wriggly bubs there. [Grin] Dated 11+5 but I know I can't be more than 11+1! Still waiting for a date for my NHS scan but sonographer said that the nuchal fold looked fine though she wouldn't measure it in case I got a different measurement later.

Purplemonster · 25/06/2013 22:21

Yay! Congrats on a nice scan Frog, it's a really magical thing watching them wriggle about isn't it!

Frogcatcher · 25/06/2013 22:24

Yep I think I could have stayed all day & watched it. DP was just enthralled which was lovely tho he did ask whether I could feel it! He has so obviously not got beyond conception in his pg for men book where he was when I checked the other day!

janey1234 · 25/06/2013 22:35

Aaah congrats frog. Having scans is such a treat, especially early on when you're not sick of being kicked in the ribs not as aware of the baby.

Right I'm hoping that tomorrow is a lucky day and I wake up to find that someone has gone into labour but not me just yet thanks

Cavort · 25/06/2013 23:30

ME! ME! ME! Janey I wholeheartedly volunteer to be the one who goes into labour tomorrow. I desperately want to get this alien out be one of the 5% who have the baby on their due date!

Yay for wiggly baby Frog! Grin It's such a relief that the nuchal fold looks ok as well isn't it? We had a private gender scan at 17 weeks as I was too impatient to wait and the Sonographer also did some of the checks that they do at 20 weeks, which really made me relax much more than I otherwise would have done on the run up to the anomaly scan.

I am seeing MW at 11.30 tomorrow so it's crunch time on the sweep decision. I hope I wake up feeling particularly brave. Confused

Purplemonster · 25/06/2013 23:57

Honestly cavort, if you do decide to have one I'm sure you'll be fine. I would elbow you out of the way to be the one who goes into labour tomorrow but it seems a bit churlish since you're actually due before me so you can have tomorrow and I'll have Thursday ok? Grin

I think I must be pretty much the only berry that only had the two standard NHS scans, I'm very envious of everyone getting all these extra looks as nice scans are definitely the best bit of pregnancy!

HazleNutt · 26/06/2013 07:06

And what a surprise - I'm still here.

SIL helpfully stated that I must wash the windows to induce labour. I rather believe that you simply get the nesting instinct and start scrubbing everything if labour is about to start anyway. But then again, the windows could use some cleaning, couldn't hurt..

janey1234 · 26/06/2013 07:13

Oh hazle Hmm Sounds like the window cleaning can't do any harm?

Woke up at 5am with bad crap in my calf (ouchie) and think I scared DP a lot, as I woke him up shouting "ow ow ow ow ow". He sat bolt upright saying "what is it, what is it?" with a look of absolute panic on his face. Try it if you fancy a laugh Wink

HazleNutt · 26/06/2013 08:35

I'm starting to feel like a pregnant woman, got up 5 times to pee, a few times to change side (as I'm the size of the truck and shoulders start to hurt) and once to have Gaviscon for heartburn. Fun.

janey1234 · 26/06/2013 09:07

Ah, the joys.
Only two loo trips for me last night - excellent - although had to take magnesium trisilicate (nicer version if gaviscon) at 3am, 6am and just had another lot now. I am totally over heartburn.

So impressive that you've only just feeling preggers though hazle at what, 40+5?

Cavort · 26/06/2013 09:11

Finally some baby action! Though not for any of you lot or me it would seem yet. Sad I woke up to a picture of my friend's new baby who arrived at 1am weighing 8lb13oz. Shock She was 41+4. I haven't spoken to her yet about how horrific labour and birth was but I was talking to her yesterday afternoon so I am guessing labour wasn't too long. She had a sweep on Monday afternoon and was told she was 1cm so I think this gives me the motivation to have one today.

Cavort · 26/06/2013 09:12

Are you definitely having CS on Friday Janey?

HazleNutt · 26/06/2013 09:13

yes, 40+5. Which really isn't terribly overdue, but I've still had enough of it.

HazleNutt · 26/06/2013 09:14

I was 1 cm like a month ago Envy
OK, window cleaning it is then..

janey1234 · 26/06/2013 09:20

I don't know cavort. I'm booked in for Friday apparently, but am seeing the consultant tomorrow for a final decision. Odd to be booked in before they've confirmed it?! But am hoping so, and the consultant said last time he had no issues with it and would do the same in my shoes. Bit worried that they won't have time to do all the Pre-op checks in time for fri but I guess they knew what they were doing when they booked me in...

There are eight of us in my NCT class, and now it looks like three of us will be having elcs. Me through choice (esp due to blood pressure) but two because their babies have suddenly turned from head down to transverse?! One really didn't want a cs but understands why she needs to. She's due on 13th July but going in today for elcs. Not much notice for her, bless. Very interested to hear how she gets on!
