Hi Emmo, I don't have any advice I am afraid but just sending some virtual support and a Biscuit Do you have a midwife as well or only consultant care? What do they think about it?

ananikifo · 24/06/2013 19:22

Umlauf I'm sorry for your loss. Thanks

MoN that's pretty harsh about the scan appt but hopefully you can get some good news and it'll be worth it.

Pinkbuttons I'm glad your move went well and I hope you feel better. Do you need to change midwives now that you've moved? I'm not changing GP now because this move is only temporary but I dread changing GP and midwife after our permanent move. I love my midwife so much!

We bought our pushchair in May because it was such a good deal. I never thought about the warranty. It'll be half over by the time the baby is born! Whoops! Live and learn I guess.

emmoB13 · 24/06/2013 19:32

I have a midwife who was more than happy the refer me to the consultant to discuss it and has written in my notes about the frequent attacks etc but I'm not sure what she can do in terms of the final decision?

LostMySocks · 24/06/2013 19:42

Just come back from a lovely 2 week long road trip in the states. Was a bit crazy but we figured it was the last time we could do it for a good few years.
Hope everyone has been keeping well and not getting too scared by how close everything is getting. I can't decide whether I am excited or nervous. All seems very real now as baby started to move enough for DH to feel when we were away and he's suddenly got all keen on cots and car seats

xuntitledx · 24/06/2013 20:02

Is anyone else noticing changes in baby's movements? I'm another with anterior placenta and sometimes the movements are really strong but other times nothing, for a day or two.

I'm feeling paranoid that something's wrong, please tell me I'm not alone!

Also, to note and for research purposes only of course, I've just demolished half a pack of chocolate digestives to see if that makes a difference! Blush

claphammama · 24/06/2013 20:13

I've been quite busy the last few days so a bit behind on the thread, apologies if I missed any news!

MoN good to hear so many other people have similarly positive news to share! Hope your Thursday appointment goes OK and I'm sure your daughter will be OK. They are so forgiving at this age and I'm sure she will understand it's for her little sister. You will have so many other occasions when you can make up for missing this one.

orange sorry to hear you are in pain. Think about fast approaching summer holidays and all the rest you will get!

umlauf so sorry to hear about your DH's grandpa... Is your DH feeling a bit better now?

flyer glad you had such a good relaxing weekend! Did you manage to get a sneaky glass of champagne? :-)

socks your holiday sounds amazing. Definitely do everything you can now!

And our bedroom is finally painted and looking lovely! The roman blinds are being fitted tomorrow morning - can't wait! I'm still off this week so hope we will get some sun and warmth... is it so much to ask for in late June??

Shirehobbit · 24/06/2013 20:15

My baby's movements have been up and down, too untitled and last week had a total slight panic last week, when I felt little for 24hrs.
But as I said earlier, someone is in a complete hyperactive phase in this last day or too!
Also, the kicks are getting stronger too - and now you can see the vibrations on the front of my bump, which must be from kicks into the anterior placenta, though I can't feel them, only the ones to the side or below. It's really quite odd!

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 20:33

Anyone know if active baby in womb has any connection to
What they're like when they're born?

Jeez this kid is constantly on the move. Dd was definitely never this active! I think he's dancing on my bladder too. I feel desperate for the loo then barely squeeze a drop out Sad

roofio87 · 24/06/2013 20:38

my movements definitely vary, but I do always feel him moving, but somedays its much stronger than others!

OrangeBlossom2 · 24/06/2013 20:39

I have just been googling that Hayle! My little one has been going crazy in there the last week or so. Some people think yes, some people think not related to behaves after birth. Anyone with babies already have thoughts?

Shirehobbit · 24/06/2013 20:41

Funnily enough, I've been wondering the same Wink

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 20:44

Like I say dd wasn't like this an he's always been
Fairly calm. Concentration span what I would expect of a 4yo, can watch a film from start to finish, likes calm activities such as crafts. Don't get me wrong she loves her action figures and fighting with her dad but she's good at settling herself and relaxing.

I have visions of this one being a complete live wire and hard work!

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 20:45

cazboldy and MoN should be able to enlighten us on this one Smile

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 20:46

"He's" Hmm "she's" obviously!

claphammama · 24/06/2013 20:47

so... my DS was super active when I was pregnant with him and is super super active now. Adorable but crazy! So I'm a believer that yes, it is an indication. (based on very limited experience of course!) Also, he kept his patterns and slept / woke up at the same hours as he did during pregnancy.

And now I feel totally battered by another strong and active baby and he keeps waking me up at 4-5am every night for the last week. So I'm very very scared... :-)

JethroTull · 24/06/2013 20:50

Shire that happened to me when we went to the cinema... might have been something to do all the sweets I ate as well Grin.

Been thinking about you today MoN & hoping for the best.

I still feel incredibly unorganised & underprepared. We're having a week of soon so I'm hoping that will give us time to get everything ready.

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 20:52

claphamama oh dear Confused

claphammama · 24/06/2013 20:55

may I add, I have no sweet tooth and don't eat any sweets or drink sugary drinks... and am still being battered... for example now, right in my hoo hoo (for the lack of a better word...) might have been something to do with the 3 big chillis I put in the curry I cooked...

please someone tell me I'm not going to have another crazy boy???

Flyer747 · 24/06/2013 21:00

Emmo I have lived with herpes for about 8 years now hun, I caught if off a lovely ex who never informed me he was a carrier.

My outbreaks are very very far and few between. I can go 2 years without one, but unfortunately I still have it. It really affected me when entering new relationships thinking no man would ever be interested because they'd think I'm dirty. Anyway I did have an outbreak right at the beginning of my pregnancy (until this point id gone just over 2 years without having one) when I got my BFP, like you I was concerned, I always knew it would be something I would have to be referred to a consultant for when I got pregnant.

Anyway I went to see the consultant who informed me that because I have built up some immunity to it that will be passed onto my baby who will also have some immunity.

However if you are breaking out so much then I would feel exactly the same and want an elective c section. With the nhs I've found if you push and push then eventually you do get what you want, it's sad this has to be the way to go about things. Voice your concerns and be adamant if they are going to make you have a natural birth you want some guarantees, if not then I think you are well within your rights to take it further.

No one on the board knows about my herpes ( I'm a regular poster here) I don't normally make it known even my best friends don't know but you are obviously distressed and just wanted to say you're not alone hun xxx

Flyer747 · 24/06/2013 21:17

Claphammama I had a lovely weekend thanks. 2 glasses of red wine (I could have polished off the bottle though) and half a shandy, I'm so rock n roll! :-) I need you as my neighbour clapham so I can come round and scrounge any left over food you have...we're they hot chills in the curry? I do love a hot curry, just started growing a few chilli plants (knowing my luck they'll be dead in a few weeks plants and me don't mix)

Can't remember who was asking about being worried over movements but I have days when it's very active and other days when it's quiet. As we all know though I had a melt down last week over lack of movements.

I do hope the is some link between timing of activity when pregnant and sleeping when it's born because this baby wakes up around 10am sometimes it has a lie in until 1130am. Fingers crossed, DP and I are both lazy morning people.

claphammama · 24/06/2013 21:33

Yes flyer! I love cooking and feeding people so move here! I used dry chillis actually, they go better than fresh chillis in many recipes. I get them from a lovely Indian shop nearby. I've never actually tried to grow any myself! Currently trying to grow parsley, basil, mint and sage but it's not looking amazing... basil in particular definitely doesn't like the British summer...

Shirehobbit · 24/06/2013 21:38

If there is something in this activity thing, permission to wibble?! We'll never be still/get any sleep Confused

I have no knowledge that can help you, Emmo, but agree from experience that you have to, sadly, push to get your way with the NHS. Good luck. (and welcome)

And Flyer Flowers. Just because.

pinkbuttons · 24/06/2013 21:45

I hope scan goes well MoN and gives you more information. its annoying they werent able to change the time but your DD will enjoy a treat with you Im sure.
Sorry I dont have any further information emmo but as has already been said just make sure that all leads are followed up and that you are happy with any decisions made, dont be afraid to question the consultant, its still your body and baby. I know this may not be a problem but I remember feeling bullied after a consultant appt when pregnant with DS and a large part of it was because I had just taken his word as law and not questioned him to understand what was happening.
ana weve moved to a different city so will have to change midwives too. I asked to make an appt ajd was told Id need to be referred by the dr even though its fairly obvious that Im pregnant and I already have my notes. seems a bit backwards but never mind.
Sorry I missed you post earlier GT about Uti hope your feeling better now Ive been plagued by them this pregnancy and theyre horrid.
With regards to active baby, O always thought DS was very active but his was mostly at night and he was nocturnal when he was born. Confused This time Ive been feeling most of the movements in the day, originally thought she was just going to be even more crazy but maybe its just that her awake/sleep pattern is different. Fingers crossed it lasts another 15 weeks and I have a baby who sleeps at night this timeGrin

Flyer747 · 24/06/2013 21:52

Thanks shire :-)

When I make curry (v v v rare occasions) I also use dried chillies clapham, I thought I was being lazy it's good to know I'm actually doing something right :-) I have scouse (it's a Liverpudlian dish, like a stew) cooking in my slow cooker at the moment, it looks minging I must have gone wrong somewhere. I wish I could cook.

My sister grows all types of herbs, veg, plants and her garden always looks so lovely, I just don't have the green fingers she does. I takes such effort to drag the flymo out the garage and mow the lawn.

Work tomorrow, can't wait.....!

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 24/06/2013 21:59

MIL says DH was really active in the womb and the same, into everything, once he was born, whereas BIL was much more placid in utero and on the outside. This one's really wiggly according to scans and doppler, but I'm not feeling half of it due to the anterior placenta. She did have a mad one on Saturday night though, I had a hot chocolate to try and make myself sleep, and oh my goodness did it liven her up! She must have just got big enough to really give it some welly! Been quieter (back to normal) for last couple of days.

Please may I join the Facebook group?
