Haha, yes Jelly, I meant to say I may as well start easing myself into early mornings now!! Grin

TheFalconsmistress · 23/06/2013 17:37

Willow is having a lovely bouncy day feeling her loads. We were lucky with ds he slept loads never had an early morning yet!

claphammama · 23/06/2013 18:20

haha - was going to say the same jelly!

and yes, despite my anterior placenta, feeling some major kicks the last few days. For the last couple of days the baby was going crazy in there around 11pm. Proper big kicks! DS was also very active but can't remember such strong kicks so early... saying this, it was 5 years ago so might have forgotten

pseudo did you meet any chefs on Thursday? tell me tell me!! such a bad cold weekend for Taste of London!

Going to a jazz club tonight with DP. Making the most of the last few months of our relative liberty. Sending DS for a sleepover so he is also super excited

Shootingstarsandcomets · 23/06/2013 18:56

I've forgotten what it feels like to have enough sleep! You he used to it though but I still remember those first few weeks and the tiredness and the endless feeding. I can't belive I'll be doing it all again so soon. Although to be honest Iight never have agreed to another one had ds been older and the nappy years long behind us so in a way it's better to have them so close together [kidding myself!!!]

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/06/2013 20:56

Back from wedding in Wales. Didn't enjoy it as much as one I went to at about 12 weeks, I was tired and my back ached from standing up. When I got home there were lots of blue veins on the left side where it hurts. I tried dancing but cant put weight on one leg or move legs wide apart easily without hurting lowr back and coccyx. Wondering if it is spd but no pain at the front so probably just a trapped nerve or strain from being 2 stone heavier than usual. Also uncomfortable sitting in a car for a long time there and back. Always nice to see people and felt a bit bad for feeling a bit grumpy on my friends' special day so made an effort to be happy and lasted until 1.30 with a bonfire on the beach. Lots of people said I looked good pregnant which is a nice boost.

Sorry to hear MIL tales, though it is comforting to know mine isn't unusual!

Panicking again about lack of things organised for baby and number of free weekends left. How long does it take to get a pushchair from when you order it? Someone mentioned that it takes a long time. Is there anywhere you can just go and buy them?

PseudoBadger · 23/06/2013 21:19

Orange last time I got Pelvic Girdle Pain which is like SPD but affects the rear of the pelvis. Perhaps keep an eye on it?

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/06/2013 21:23

Oh ok thanks badger. Not excruciating but DH keeps saying I should call midwives before my next appointment which isn't for a few more weeks.

PseudoBadger · 23/06/2013 21:26

Mind definitely crept up on me. And I've been noticing the odd twinge this pregnancy so far so am keeping an eye on it too.

JellyCurls · 23/06/2013 21:32

Orange call your midwife for a referral to maternity Physio. I had terrible SPD in last pregnancy and you want to be seen before you get bad. Now I have a very sore tail bone but only when sit for too long, it's related to pelvis so take care. Try and get some rest z

cazboldy · 23/06/2013 21:57

Orange sorry you are in pain. you can just buy them in mothercare if they have them in stock/ babies r us i think....

I ordered mine, and it took less than a week to arrive (at my parents as we have no room!)

JellyCurls · 23/06/2013 22:20

Orange we bought our pram off eBay so got it a week from winning. It was brand new in box. If you know what you want can order off Internet and get it quite quick.

Don't worry about not being organised, we have done nothing yet and ds is still in the cot bed and baby will need it back as a cot come October. Need to think about buying him a proper bed

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 23/06/2013 22:29

Hello all, hope everyone had a good weekend.

Interesting to hear the MIL stories...Caz you make my DP's parents look like angels in comparison and my "MIL" is a bit of a nightmare (not a bad person at heart but quite critical and intolerant) We live over 4 hours away though, so we get away with minimal contact.

When DP's mum found out we were expecting she told us she was "absolutely delighted because now, finally, we would be a proper family.". Eeerrr, excuse me, but I already consider DP, DD and I to be a proper family!

She also told me how inconsiderate I was to get pregnant this year as she is expecting her first great grandchild in December. Half-way through the ticking off, she did have to concede that actually - given my due date - I was actually pregnant first.

Orange don't worry, I haven't brought anything yet either. I only have a changing table and a second hand pushchair as I've been given them by a friend. We have plenty of time

Lovely to hear about all these active babies. I think my little one is actually less active that DD was (posterior placenta with both). He/She has a bout of activity in the evening but seems to be asleep most of the time. Even the 'kicks' feel more like internal flips and swishes than actual kicks.

It will be interesting to see whether this is an early indication of a personality difference or not. Although, like Clapham I do wonder if I'm just having a memory lapse after all these years - I could be comparing memories of how DD felt at full-term with this one at only 25 weeks.

MoN I'll be thinking of you, your little baby girl and your family tomorrow.

MrsO27 · 23/06/2013 22:59

orange we bought our pram, car seat etc at John Lewis today and it could all be in store to collect by Tuesday, although we're not collecting until September as warranty begins once you collect and didn't want that starting too early. I have heard of people waiting months so might be best to check if you have your heart set on a certain type.

Newmum0113 · 24/06/2013 07:01

Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to forums in general. I am due in October 2013. Am I welcome here? Blush

Natalieand · 24/06/2013 07:27

Everyone's welcomes newmum :-) when's your due date ? Do u no the babies gender?

Hopefully all goes well if u manage to speak to the cardiologist today MoN xx

Soupqueen · 24/06/2013 08:43

Welcome newmum

orange, it could well be pelvic girdle pain. I think HCPs are using that term rather than SpD these days as its wider and includes the pain you describe. Get a referral to an obstetric physio. I saw my midwife about this 3 weeks ago and have my physio appointment on Thursday so best to get the wheels in motion sooner rather than later.

It was my birthday yesterday (37, eek. Am I the oldest first timer?) and DH bought me the Storksak "Kate" changing bag. It's way more than I would have spent on something like that, but it's beautiful and I love it! Grin

MoN, hope you get some positive news today.

Soupqueen · 24/06/2013 08:46

Also meant to say, orange, we've not ordered anything yet but the lady in John Lewis said they keep a reasonable stock of prams and buggies in their store room. They'll hold onto it as long as you want but you could get it quickly if need be. If your heart is set on a particular one, might need to order.

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 24/06/2013 09:39

A big friendly wave to Newmum - of course you are welcome.

Belated happy birthday wishes to Soup. Very Envy of the changing bag, which colour have you gone for? I'm eyeing up the "Sofia" or the "Emily" in tan.

They are ludicrously, ridiculously expensive but I'm thinking of asking for one as an early birthday and/or Christmas pressie. I may even go slightly mad and just treat myself to one

Last time I was carrying the same bag around pretty much every day for over two years so I think it's worth getting one I really love.

My plan is to invest in the baby/toddler products that get used again and again and again for months (pushchair, steriliser etc) and scrimp on the bits and bobs that are quickly outgrown (clothes, toys..)

DD has been a real delight over the weekend and oddly enough it has made me feel slightly guilty that this baby is going to turn her world upside down.

Flyer747 · 24/06/2013 09:40

Haven't caught up yet as I've been away just wanted to quickly say asos have a sale on and upto 50% on maternity wear. There is some good bargains on the site.

Umlauf · 24/06/2013 10:03

Hello everyone, and welcome newmum do you know whether you are having a boy or a girl yet? When's your due date?

I'm on double figures now! Something like 98 days to go until mine. Yay!

Ooh flyer sounds lovely. Where have you been? Somewhere sunny?!

Sorry to hear about your pain orange interesting that its round the back only, I think I have a really mild form of similar and my pain is in the same place. Do keep a close eye on it.

I'm at home today on maternity leave and so bored already! I think I'm going to have to clean and I haven't had any nesting kick in. We had a rubbish weekend as DHs grandad was found dead in his house, he was so excited about the baby (his first great grandchild) and the baby would have amazingly had a full set of great grandparents. He was also the only one of our grandparents not to be ill in some way, so he was the last person we would have expected to die. So DH was really subdued all day and I was tiptoeing around him wishing I could say or do the right thing. Sad

How are you this morning MON our resident superwoman? I hope you get lots more information soon. A friend of my sister was born with a hole in the heart and it was a simple, quick operation 20 years ago, medics are amazing and they can work wonders.

Lots of Flowers for everyone this morning, I'm feeling mushy!

Soupqueen · 24/06/2013 10:44

It's the black, shiny (aka wipe clean!) one, Bridget

Umlauf, that's such sad news, your poor DH. At least he had the happy news of the baby being on its way and avoided a long illness, but that doesn't make it easier for those left behind who must be in shock just now Flowers

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 10:45

Morning Ladies.

Umlauf so sorry to hear about your DH's Grandad. Awful news Sad Let that nesting kick it, I remember it with dd, so proud of everything I got done as I hate housework and quite lazy when it comes to it!

orange I too have been having pain, but mines in my hips. Not bad enough to rush through to midwife but if you are concerned then definitely give her a call. Thats what she is there for. I have my 25 week appt on friday so will be mentioning my achy hips to her.

Anyone else got their 25 week appt? (or alternative depending on where you are in the world?

MoN how are you feeling? I too have a family member born with a hole in her heart. She is now 28 and has two children.

Newmum welcome to the thread where no information is too much to handle and one of us at least is probably experiencing it too!

soupqueen Happy birthday for yesterday!

I seem to have very little to get now, bits and bobs really. (and collect the moses basket from oop north) MIL's birthday was this weekend so we travelled up to her party saturday night. On sunday after opening all her pressies she gave me a gift voucher for £20 for boots that she didnt want and said spend it on the baby. So now I reckon I can tick off about 70% of whats left on my list. eg. a towel, nail clippers, muslins.

Talking of MIL's I used to get annoyed when dd was first born with bits of advice such as when to leave the baby etc but learnt quickly to take it with a pinch of salt. But now we live 100 miles away so see her every 2 months or so. Shes brill when she visits and she makes herself useful by washing the pots, tidying up etc. My mum can be a bit full on but tbh I am so unbelievably grateful to her and everything she did for us whilst I was in and out of hospital with HG. Although this is her 5th Grandchild due to distance and a breakdown of my other brothers marriage she doesnt seen the others half as much. we live on the same estate and she sees DD almost everyday. They have a very close relationship but at least with her being my mum I can tell her off for stuff (like buying dd a blue ice lolly in town on saturday morning that I couldn't get the dye from round her mouth all day!)

Sorry for the mammoth post!

Hope everyone is feeling ok, 24+1 for me so does that mean I'm in the second trimester now? Baby is 30 long and weighs around 2lb apparantly! Found some stretch marks on the inside of my thighs right at the top but not too worried as you cant really see them.

Not back in work till wednesday so lots of resting after a hectic weekend. I think I have around 25 more shifts to go!

Natalieand · 24/06/2013 10:53

hayle I believe the 3rd trimester begins in week 27-28 xx

Natalieand · 24/06/2013 10:54

Oops sorry I miss read your post hayle I think the second trimester is approx weeks 14-27

Haylebop12 · 24/06/2013 10:56

Haha it meant to say 3rd!
