Ouch! That does sound stressful umlauf hope u manage to get everything sorted and find the perfect place xx

Happy birthday wicked xxx

hayle your dd sounds a bit like mine even tho she is only 2.9 years she says she's gunna share her toys with baby and baby is gunna share her room and she talks about nappies and wet wipes for the baby and tried looking through my belly button at him but when I ask her what name shall we give baby I just get told were gunna call him 'baby' lol it's so cute isn't it!

Just done the food shop on a very empty stomach.... Now I can't decide what to eat first. Think ill start with a donut lol

favellio · 19/06/2013 12:11

Happy birthday wicked Grin
I'm 24 weeks today too. Starting to feel a few more movements but not what I'd call proper kicks yet (damn you anterior placenta!!) has anyone else had a weird numb/tingly patch on their bump occasionally? I went Pilates last night and every time I bent forward I got this weird feeling, like a mild electric shock, on a 50p sized patch at the top of my bump!
Apart from SPD, everything appears to be going swimmingly. I can't wait to meet our little surprise now Smile

Flyer747 · 19/06/2013 12:55

Roxvox I don't live by it, like your sister i have heard of people not dating someone because they aren't a good match...A bit silly hey.

Wow clapham your yoga master sounds amazing. I love a bit of clairvoyancy, although again it's just a bit of fun. I've only ever had one accurate reading. When i popped to my friends last night funnily enough we were talking about having a night with a medium/clairvoyant.

Happy Birthday Wicked, I hope you have a lovely day and get spoilt rotten.

My baby likes fruit pastilles very much so it seems, it got rather excited after i ate a huge bag!

roofio87 · 19/06/2013 13:19

Haha thanks for the tip roxvox id been thinking that my baby's movements had felt softer and less noticeable today, but also have a big over the bump maternity skirt on, rolled it down and now feeling lots, funny how that affects it!!

Wickedgirl · 19/06/2013 13:24

My plans for today are: relaxing with my book while the children are at school and then Chinese for dinner tonight. As this is my last pregnancy, I intend to make it as relaxing as possible. Grin

MotherOfNations · 19/06/2013 14:14

Have a lovely day Wicked Relaxing with a book sounds very good. The last time I read a book was last summer. I never seem to find the time to read now.

Smitten1981 · 19/06/2013 14:37

Happy Birthday Wicked.

I went to book in at my new hospital today and it was amazing. So professional and the midwife was so through and friendly. I was only there an hour, unlike the three hours it took at the last one.

I was told that as my BMI was OK at my first booking weight that I don't need a glucose tolerance test at all - hurrah!

I'm SO glad I swapped hospitals, I feel much more happy now.

I woke in the night last night with the worst stomach ache/period like cramps. I've never had anything like it, luckily it had stopped by this morning, but I went into a bit of a panic in case it meant the baby was coming. Luckily it stopped after a while.

Maybe I ate something dodgy/too much food before bed.

roxvox · 19/06/2013 15:37

I have known my sister to write off a date in advance after finding out the guys star sign, so I know what you mean Flyer!

Wicked sounds like a lovely, relaxing day. I am jealous sat here in our incredibly toasty office!

I have had a couple of days now where I want to be constantly eating. I wouldn't say that I am 'hungry' asuch, more just that I feel continuously peckish! Am trying to surround myself with fruit, but that doesn't last long and isn't what I am craving (not really sure what I am craving). Anyone else feeling the same?

claphammama · 19/06/2013 16:21

umlauf this sounds so stressful... do you have any family or friends to help you with the move or in case something doesn't go according to plan? And glad you are feeling better in your new clothes, I know you were quite down about it for a while.

smitten so glad you like your new hospital! It's so important to feel comfortable and have trust in new midwives. Makes so much difference.

favellio congrats on 24 weeks! never had the numb / tingly patch sensation you are talking about... perhaps others have had and know what causes it

roxvox this is how I feel most of the time. I want to eat something but not quite sure what. And I'm quite fussy about my food, very unlike me as I can usually eat anything. It's hot in London today so I think I will make pasta with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and capers... appeals at the moment but may well change by 7pm!

claphammama · 19/06/2013 16:24

by the way, I can no longer do my toe nails... bump is well in the way now... I've just tried bending in all possible directions and no, doesn't work... (I'm off and home today). Do you have any advice? I remember painting my toe nails when pregnant with DS so no idea what I'm doing wrong now...

Natalieand · 19/06/2013 16:39

Glad u are pleased with hour new hospital smitten xx

Clapham No advice on the nail painting? Could ask dh to do it and if he says no then make him pay for a pedicure lo

Textbook just looked at the uaername thing on facebook i didnt realiase u lived near me :-) I live in littlehampton (few minutes east of Bognor Regis) and having baby at st Richards in Chichester where r u hoping to have baby?

Flyer747 · 19/06/2013 16:40

Roxvox i'm the same with food, the fruit isn't doing it for me. I have found cooking a chore since being pregnant, i'm not a very good cook at the best of times. Clapham your tea sounds yummy, i can imagine you are a really good cook, I had avoided scallops during pregnancy, however after you were talking about eating them last week i'm gutted i've deprived myself.

Why not going to get a pedicure with gel polish on your trotters that way it will last about 4 weeks other than that get dp to do it for you, or get a friend round, i was forever doing my best mates toes for her in her last two pregnancies.

I'm struggling to see my lady bits over my bump now, sorry if that's tmi.

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/06/2013 17:20

Haha yes me too flyer, can't see above my upper thighs any more. I think I may treat myself to full leg and bikini wax for the summer soon. My friend suggested it before birth too as makes stitches easier and easier to keep clean with all the sticky gunk afterwards (nice).

Eek Umlauf. I would suggest hiring a removals company like Pickford in the UK to box everything up, move it and unload at the other end. You and DP may be a bit busy!

Very hot and sticky here today. Glad it should be slightly cooler by the time we are at our biggest.

claphammama · 19/06/2013 17:24

I like your thinking natalie and flyer! I absolutely don't trust DP in this department so it will have to be a professional pedi. Unless you fancy a weekend in London flyer? :-) very welcome!

And my tea is dead simple - Jamie Oliver style 15min job. Like most Italian dishes it's mainly about good quality ingredients and proportions, not too much skill required. I believe scallops are perfectly fine as long as they are properly cooked, same as prawns etc... I draw the line when it comes to mussels, oysters and sashimi... OMG I miss proper sushi and sashimi so much... I think it will be my first meal after I give birth... with a baked camembert for dessert...

Umlauf · 19/06/2013 17:27

I really don't know what we will do, we can't really afford to be paying 2 months rent at the same time for an overlap. Maybe a week or so but no more, and we don't really have people here we would feel comfortable asking as its such a massive job Sad Just hoping the little one will be a bit late! We don't actually have that much stuff as we chucked so much out before moving and only had a carload, so its not so much the stuff, its the unpacking, and if our new place is unfurnished then that will be horrific! Urgh I don't wanna think about it!!!!

That's great news about the hospital smitten it sounds reassuring! Is it closer to home aswell?

clapham will you come and cook for me?!! That's made me feel very hungry! Ill do your toenails in return!!!!

claphammama · 19/06/2013 17:38

umlauf this is a great deal - checking flights to San Sebastian right now!! :-)

Can you perhaps ask someone from your family in the UK to come for a couple of weeks? In your situation it may be a blessing and, in case you have the baby earlier, they could do all the running around with your DH?

PseudoBadger · 19/06/2013 17:41

Favellio I'm still numb after my emcs so can't really help you I'm afraid :o
Smitten are you sure it wasn't heartburn? The first time I had it was agony and I had no idea what it was.
Clapham I had sushi for lunch today (mainly salmon based), it was yum! The fish all has to be frozen before it's served if you buy it from a reputable supplier. Do you have any Wasabi chain near you?
My meal plan for tonight is either pasta bake or filled potato skins, both too hot for this weather :(
My bump extends further than my ample boobs now!

legallyblond · 19/06/2013 17:53

Hi all! Just checking in really! Still in one piece (phew!) and the operation has worked as at my follow up scan (last week) my cervix had doubled in length thanks to the stitch... Hooray!! I now get scanned / monitored every two weeks, so I am seeing these babies lots!

Poor you Umlauf. I reckon you can manage though. Book a removal firm to do the move for you (in the UK there are firms who will pack and unpack as well as move the stuff) and have a couple of suitcases on hand of essentials as if you were on holiday, plus a suitcase for the baby...?

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 19/06/2013 18:15

Legally that's great news - what a relief.

Obviously it's a very personal thing, but I think I read some research once which came to the conclusion keeping your nether regions hairy actually slightly decreases the risk of postnatal infections down there. I guess sometimes mother nature puts hair in places for a reason.

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/06/2013 18:23

Wow legally great news. Have you been uncomfortable with that rapid stretching?

Hmm interesting Bridget, I will research! (Have to be careful what I type into google! Blush )

cazboldy · 19/06/2013 18:40

Great news Legally Smile

Happy Birthday Wicked Flowers

Umlauf - pack everything up, if baby is on time (unlikely) leave it all to dp while you have a few days in hospital while he sorts it all out!

Bonus! Grin

(Although I would hate doing this, as I am a control freak, and he wouldn't do anything properly!!!)

claphammama · 19/06/2013 18:48

amazing news legally! Grin

yes pseudo they seem to have two in oxford street! Smile should check it out then! they have sushi regularly in my office but no idea where they get it from.

orange I read the same thing as bridget about the hairy nether regions. And I choose to accept this theory also because I'm so busy that struggle to be as groomed as I used to be before DS... poor DP Smile

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 19/06/2013 18:55

Orange - I reckon it's probably one of those things whereby you just have to do what you are most comfortable with and the statistical difference in outcomes is tiny. My poor old foof is so swollen these days there's no way in the world a beautician is going anywhere near it!

First time around I didn't go into hospital to give birth until I'd finish shaving my legs - much to DP's annoyance as he was convinced we'd end up stuck in the morning rush hour.

Smitten1981 · 19/06/2013 19:15

Umlauf - the hospital is a little further away, but it only took half an hour this morning and that was during rush hour so all should be ok.

Pseudo - no, definitely not heartburn, I've had enough of that lately. I just woke up feeling like I was about to have the worst bout of diahorrea ever but nothing was forthcoming. It was a cross between stomach cramps and period pain. So weird.

Hopefully it won't happen again tonight.

I'm other news the pram was delivered this afternoon so we'll be building that later! Fun times.

Flyer747 · 19/06/2013 19:24

Orange I laughed at your comment about searching in google.

Claphammama I miss sashimi, Camembert, Brie, rare fillet steak, goats cheese, shropshire blue cheese, all washed down with lots of red wine, oh and I almost forgot a runny egg! I can't wait for Xmas DP is on baby duty whilst I have lots of the above, pay back for his recent partying and upcoming stag do's.

That's really good news legally and how lovely getting to see your babies every few weeks.

I went for a Brazilian once some Vietnamese lady caused me much pain, she was so rough I thought she was gonna rip me in two, it put me off ever having it done again, so I've always shaved, however as I can no longer see what I'm doing and I wouldn't let DP lose down there with a razor I will have to try waxing again.
