Thought I may as well start this given I'll be around for another (hopefully) 14ish weeks :) Hope I've not crossed posts with anyone!

Oh I didn't explain that well, we dtd twice but not same day - weds and fri! (So wasn't being a smug show off haha). Dtd again this afternoon and then right after we went out for dinner and I've had painful contractions, not loads, but def much more painful than yesterday and I got home and my mucus plug has come out! Trying not to get excited but surely I'll be well on my way soon?!? (Eek!) x

kittykatsforever · 08/12/2013 07:29

Pooh Alex it definatly sounds like it's happening, here's hoping it all kicks off today, any more? I'm going girl Grin

Alexandra6 · 08/12/2013 07:36

I had loads last night, a few mins apart at one point, then they eased off around midnight and I fell asleep and now I've woken up with just a bit of a crampy belly feeling. Wish I could really get things going!!! Want the baby born today!!

Thingymajigs · 08/12/2013 08:02

I am quite jealous of all the dtd going on. I can't wait until that part of our life becomes normal again. Thats if DP isn't traumatised by the birth. I'm not convinced he is prepared for any of that and as supportive as he is he is burying his head in the sand about the birth process.
I hope it starts properly for you soon alex. Aww, just think of spending Christmas all cuddled up with your newborn. Smile

Thingymajigs · 08/12/2013 08:05

How is everything with you wee? Any signs yet?
Did you manage to sort out maternity leave issues red?
How are all the graduated BFP babies and mums doing now? Updates please. Smile

weechops · 08/12/2013 08:30

Alex sounds like things will pick up again soon and you'll have your baby in your arms soon!!

I managed to persuade dh to have sex twice last week but maybe I should dtd today too. He wasn't too keen last time so may need to resort to emotional blackmail ha! He put the baby in there, it's his duty to help me get him out :)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 08/12/2013 10:07

I'm jealous of all the dtd too thingy it's been a while and I can't see us getting back on track anytime soon Sad I'm still decidedly overweight whereas skinny dh has list weight. If we dtd now it would look like a cheetah shagging a hippo size wise.

alex it really does sound like things are starting to happen, will be keeping an eye for news.

Unfortunately the update on my kids is newborn is doing well Grin has slight colic symptoms but is mostly a really easy baby. Dd is in a bit if a state though. She had antibiotics about 1/2 weeks ago and now she has athletes foot and possible thrush (GP wasn't quite sure what the problem was but she was really sore). Now she has conjuctivitus as well and is coming down with yet another bloody cold. She's ok with the cold during the day but gets bunged up at night so is waking and crying for mummy but only daddy is available.

I just wish we could have a healthy month with her, I'm lucky though she never been worryingly sick just a series of bugs.

Hope everyone else is getting on ok.

Thingymajigs · 08/12/2013 10:23

I hope she feels better soon when. I remember ds1 being constantly ill when ds2 was born and he ended up giving him chicken pox. That was a tricky first month. It really is difficult trying to deal with a newborn and poorly dc's.
I'm another one with a very slim OH. He has lost weight and I'm obviously pilling it on. He said yesterday how much he weighed and when I said I would probably catch him up soon he did look a little shocked but tried to hide it. I'm so looking forward to getting my body back and attempting to lose this weight. I feel like a hippo having to throw my weight to turn over in bed. Blush
Baby is very active and measuring spot on so I'm happy. 9 weeks to go.

Thingymajigs · 08/12/2013 10:25

No, tell a lie, 8 weeks to go. I'm not losing a week.

Alexandra6 · 08/12/2013 10:36

Wow thingy you're close too! Have to say I was wondering with being two weeks overdue, that means my baby will be huge when it's born right?! Compared to a friend who had hers at 38 weeks, a whole month earlier? Hope it can still fit out!!!

I hope dd feels better soon when

kittykatsforever · 08/12/2013 10:39

We are all good Grin managed to avoid ( miraculously) most germs so far even though we havnt attempted to, dd1 has a cough at the moment but no other cold symptoms and it's not making her ill, I have a horrible coldsaw though and trying not to kiss them is hard! Dh was after abit of action the other night but said no, there's nothing sexy about trying to avoid kissing! I'm abit In awe that you ladies are dtd to move baby, I must say it was the very last thing I'd have resorted to and didn't lol
We havnt quite got back on track yet but more to do with sleep and shifts, should hopefully start to improve after my lip heals as the girls sleep well.
When I've done the 5-2 diet for the past 3weeks, I realised after 6 months the stone I want to loose isn't just going to vanish and I think this is the easiest one to do while I'm off. I've lost5lb so pleased with that, it's slower then I'd like but I'm not on a diet everyday so can't expect fast weight loss
I'm getting so excited for Xmas, it will be so magical for you guys with newborns!
Oh and dd2 can sit woo hoo x

RedRobin1 · 08/12/2013 11:09

Sex! What's that?! I told DH I am going to feel like it's my first time when we eventually get around to doing it again! We haven't dtd for awhile...a long while! DH has also lost weight and looks so fit and I just look like a beach whale. Hahaha loving the cheetah shagging image when ! Can't wait to get my body back.

I'm slightly annoyed by people (MiL and SiL) now starting to predict when the baby is going to come with 100% certainty! My very tipsy MIL actually said she doesn't want the baby to come in 2014 and come in 2013! I don't know if it's pregnancy hormones but I tend to get offended easily these days...

when it's awful when you have a poorly toddler and a newborn. Hope dd gets better real soon.

I have 4 weeks to go now and carrying very very very low which makes every random stranger how I am going to give birth early! I'm still angry with SiL saying "I'll be shocked if you go overdue. It's def coming soon!" I felt so irritated and felt like my body would fail me by not being able to carry the baby to full term! I don't know why the early labour comments are gettin to me so much but I just wish people would back off my birth predictions a bit!

It's the same with the gender - everyone is certain it's going to be a boy! SiL has even bought blue socks!!! It's just the fact that they are all so certain about MY BABY that makes me keep wishing this baby is a girl and it comes in 2014 so I can have the last laugh in their smug faces!!! Whew! Rant over

RedRobin1 · 08/12/2013 11:13

Loved reading the bfp grads updates - keep them coming!!

thingy you are not far behind me!! Wow just 8 weeks! How quick has that gone! Sorted my mat leave out just need to get them to correct my payslip for mat pay!

Alexandra6 · 08/12/2013 11:34

haha red you wouldn't like my MIL's comments about avoiding my nephew's bday with our birth, and earlier this week she asked me to avoid Sat as she had an xmas do then! Wink

The only thing that makes me defensive is when people make overdue jokes about the baby being lazy/late/hurry up etc - makes me protective over my little one who's just letting nature run its course!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 08/12/2013 20:26

kitty very impressed with your dd sitting that's lovely. Well done with the weight loss, 5 pounds sounds really impressive. Slow and steady loss is probably best anyway.

red and alex I feel your pain with everyone having an opinion on when you will give birth and gender predictions. Telling you when you can and can't give birth is just annoying. I got that too, I'm sure they were just kidding but it pissed me off no end.

Thanks for wishing dd good health. This morning her left eye looked really bad so I washed it with breastmilk. The left eye looks pretty good now and I wish I'd insisted on doing the right one too (dd wasn't keen).

RedRobin1 · 08/12/2013 20:45

Are you sure we don't have the same MIL alex? Mine said the same about asking baby not to come on bdays and events happening in Jan!

when you are right..they might just be kidding ...but it's a tad annoying telling my little baby when it can and can't come.

There are so many good uses to breast milk Smile you learn something new everyday!

kitty that's amazing on the weight loss - I can't wait to get my body back in shape! I guess bf will help with some of that.

TMI alert!! Weirdly enough for the first time since I got the bfp, I furkled up inside to feel my cervix and it is really soft and low - almost near the opening of my fanjo! Did anyone else furkle around the last few weeks to check their cervix? I only did it as I had excess discharge today and wasn't sure if it was mucus plug. Doesn't seem like the plug.

kittykatsforever · 08/12/2013 21:20

I did second time red but really couldn't make head nor tail of it lol I think when it's getting close it goes high up though and effaced. You probably are full of hormones pissing you off as I imagine the only reason she's made the 2013 comment is because they are so excited and in my experience everyone loves predicting things. It pissed me off though that with dd2 every day after 37wks mum rang asking if anything had happened ( she was my babysitter and birth partner so not likely without a phone call) and asked I wonder why it hasn't happened yet? Because I'm not due yet I thought! This got pretty anoying! lol missed it all first time but funnily enough I thought my body was clever for kicking out at 37wks rather then failing me! I made lots of people very jeleous as a first timer plus no really big bump or ailments lol with dd2 I got piles at 38wks god damit! How I wished my body had been "clever" enough to do the same
When, so funny your images the cheetah first and now dd1 not being keen on bm in her eye lol I doubt I'd be but have used it on dd2, it really is great stuff and I'm sure what has helped them both be quite robust with germs could ofcourse be coincidence but my friends who havnt bf have much poorlier kids in terms of picking up things quite regularly then being very ill, dd1 has only ever been poorly 1/2 days in years even chicken pox didn't knock her
I got predicted boy a lot with dd2 and a friend said she "wanted" me to have a boy, I remember that pissed me off at the time as I thought well it's not about what you want is it!! Lol

Thingymajigs · 08/12/2013 21:55

Thought I should say- I'm sorry if suggesting you might have girls was inappropriate. I hadn't thought. I have such a lot of comments about the gender of my own children though so I should have considered it more.
I get "Are you going to keep on trying for a girl?" "That's a shame, I bet you wanted a girl." "Are you sure it isn't triplets?" hahaha, hilarious. Hmm And a weird one from my son's doctor- "Do you have easy births? Well this is your third I'm sure its like shelling peas." What the actual f? Nosey people.
Best of luck to everyone getting close. Can't wait for your updates.

weechops · 09/12/2013 11:31

Just back from my sweep. Ow ow ow! She said I'm 4/5 engaged but my cervix isn't very soft yet. She's booked me another sweep for next Monday (the day dd has the dentist and ds has his nursery Christmas party im supposed to attend argh!) Praying that today's sweep works. I'm going to insist dh has sex with me later too!

RedRobin1 · 09/12/2013 13:11

Not at all thingy I am all for predictions and fun guesses. It's just SiL buying a pair of blue socks and her smug face that made me annoyed! I am actually quite happy when people say "it might be a girl" as everyone else in RL is convinced for some reason its going to be a boy!

4 weeks to find out! kitty yes there is the other way to look at it as well, as its getting very uncomfortable now to turn or sleep....hopefully I don't go overdue and this baby just comes whenever its ready!

alex how are you holding up? more bouncing on the ball?

RedRobin1 · 09/12/2013 13:20

ouch! the sweep sounds painful. I have always wondered how they get their fingers up a tiny hole in the cervix Confused fx it works for you wee

kittykatsforever · 11/12/2013 08:06

How are you Alex? Was it her induction Monday girls? She must be well on the way to having/ had her baby?

twinklestar2 · 11/12/2013 09:26

Hello everyone,

Room for a little (but hoping to be big in 9 months time) one?! Grin

Yep that's right I FINALLY got my BFP! My frozen cycle worked and I'm so grateful every single day. We found out last Tuesday, we were both so shocked as I truly didn't believe it was going to work and was frantically trying to save money for another go in the new year.

On the Saturday before I started bleeding so I thought it was over. Both hub and I were so down, crying, etc, but then it was only brown blood when I wiped and it was on and off. I had never had that before so I started to feel hopeful although OH was convinced it hadn't work. We were so convinced that it was going to be negative that I tested and left the test on the side and went back to it! Nearly fell off the loo when I saw two lines!!

Red has been keeping me company up until now and I've been so frightened to post in case I jinx it but I saw 3+ on the digi yesterday and I'm starting to feel more relaxed about it and I couldn't WAIT to tell you all!

So here I am! I DID get my BFP in 2013 even if it did sneak in right at the end Xmas Grin

Thingymajigs · 11/12/2013 09:29

Yay!!! Grin Grin Grin That's amazing! I'm so happy for you. That has cheered me up no end after some bad news earlier today. When is your EDD?

twinklestar2 · 11/12/2013 09:43

Thx thingy! I'm due on 10th August :)
