Thought I may as well start this given I'll be around for another (hopefully) 14ish weeks :) Hope I've not crossed posts with anyone!

It sounds like it could be any time then. Smile Will the carpel tunnel stop once baby is born? I don't know anything about it. I have restless leg syndrome during my pregnancies which sounds made up but it definitely exists as it keeps me awake all night. I take comfort in the fact that it always goes after the birth.

Alexandra6 · 30/11/2013 12:25

wee you're so close too! thingy I'm scared of the drip!! A friend just said it might be better I demand Caesarian rather than the full on drip.

Still have a week for the baby to come naturally though. Maybe I will have a sweep on Tuesday then or at least how see how relaxed I feel with the midwife I see then. My internal check last week hurt so much though for some reason.

Eeek this is the weirdest time - lovely, exciting, relaxing and scary all at once!

RedRobin1 · 30/11/2013 16:27

Wee you are not far away either! It's going to be amazing. Fx baby arrives on your dads birthday!

Alex I know what you mean - I have a weird excitement about Christmas this year...

Fx you don't need the drip or the sweep!!

Thingymajigs · 30/11/2013 17:38

Don't be scared of the drip. It might make labour more intense but it hurries labour along. I'm sure you won't need it though. Apparently sweeps are usually very successful at kick starting things. Still plenty of time though. S/he obviously isn't ready yet. I still think both you and red are having girls for some reason. Probably because I only produce boys and everyone I know has boys so I must assume that the balance is being corrected elsewhere.

kittykatsforever · 01/12/2013 14:09

Ahh I havnt been on in ages and missed due dates!!
How are you feeling Alex? Don't worry about induction, my sis was and was fine, I don't think they'd let you demand a c section lol but you don't want that route if you can help it, it's a major surgery and obviously it has it's place but if you can the natural route has by far the best recovery, longs walks my love x
Just put my tree up, I love Xmas GrinGrin

kittykatsforever · 01/12/2013 19:50

I've added a pic of dd2 red, I've tried to put a few on but it keeps replacing the next with the same pic, not sure why so it's just 1 at the min

RedRobin1 · 02/12/2013 10:29

Just seen dd2's pic kitty - she has such cheeky grin! Lovely pic...shes so cute!

I'll put one up when he / she decides to arrive :)

Alexandra6 · 02/12/2013 10:51

Awww she's gorgeous kitty!

Was googling this morning and apparently the average pregnancy length is 41+1 for Caucasian women, first time, according to one study. Can you tell I'm being obsessive In France, they say the due date is later. So I'm not even overdue really then! Kind of makes me feel better but why are they so keen to induce and sweep so quickly then?!

I might put my xmas tree up with DH when he gets home tonight Smile Just wish I could have a glass of mulled wine while we're doing it!!

kittykatsforever · 02/12/2013 12:38

Thank you girls Grin I think she is super cute aswel but ofcourse I would!
I think you can treat yourself to a glass Alex, I had a glass of Buck's Fizz on Xmas day and New Years last year when I was preggers, he/she has done all there developing now!

Alexandra6 · 02/12/2013 13:08

I've had the odd glass during mid pregnancy as a treat but wasn't sure about it now I'm due but you know what I'm going to treat myself to a little glass tonight! Grin

RedRobin1 · 02/12/2013 18:38

Yes yes you should alex I am looking forward to my small glass of champers on Christmas Day!

DH and I were talking about sweeps and inductions after our antenatal classes and we decided we would wait till 40+5 before getting a sweep. I just feel nervous about someone shoving their fingers up there and also I don't know how bad my spine will be by 40 weeks! I may change my mind...Smile

RedRobin1 · 05/12/2013 12:43

how's is baby alex doing? any signs of an exit?

Alexandra6 · 05/12/2013 13:10

Noooooooo! Said no to a sweep as I had a crap not very experienced/competent midwife at my appointment the other day and I think that was my only "chance". And I've gone for induction at 42 weeks by my NHS due date...which is Monday! So I'm trying everything and literally praying that I go into labour over the next couple of days. I have been having lots of Braxton hicks type tightenings and cramps etc but nothing kicking off fully. And of course I'm now worrying every day whether baby is moving enough and why nothing's happening. Argh! X

RedRobin1 · 05/12/2013 15:02

I will keep praying it moves for you and decides to check out of your uterus soon :) Come on baby get a move on! What old wives tales (if any!) have you tried so far? I think I was told only sex and walking work.

My NCT teacher advised us to walk funnily on the pavement, i.e. have one foot on the kerb and one on the road so it's uneven balance (obviously get DH to walk with you!) Apparently it helps to shift baby and let gravity do it's thing! Not sure if that will work or just make you look like a drunken penguin Grin

I have got some Christmas music on and doing a little happy dance waddle! 5 weeks to go for me - woohooo!

wee how are you doing? Few more days for you... hope your induction / sweep goes well and the baby comes on your dad's birthday :)

weechops · 05/12/2013 18:47

Oh Alex sending you baby-evicting vibes :)

Sweep for me on Monday morning. I've been taking evening primrose oil to see if it does anything (helped to get baby in here right at the start by moving ov forward a day!) and dh has helped me out twice 'ahem' :)

Alexandra6 · 06/12/2013 10:05

I've tried chillies, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea (doesn't actually induce but tones uterus), sex twice (woop as DH and I thought we'd be freaked out by it at this stage but managed - recommend spooning position!), walking, just bought a bouncy ball...basically everything apart from a weird penguin waddle red which I'm not sure if that's where I draw the line haha!

Love the fact you're waddling to xmas tunes red - you always seem to be in a great mood!

wee good luck for your sweep! That's the one thing I'm regretting now as have my induction on Monday and haven't had a sweep yet and am now wondering if it would have helped but too late now I think. I just didn't trust the midwife, seemed really inexperienced and didn't know what she was doing, and I'm not being picky - she was slack. Also as I'm so tense about the sweep idea and being overdue etc, I know it would hurt more.

RedRobin1 · 06/12/2013 13:57

Sex twice! Wow Smile I always wondered how it would work hehehe...

I don't have much faith in the curry or the tea but sex and birthing ball seem to be proven methods :) fingers crossed!

Been in a bit of a crap mood today as my work are doing my head in with mat leave and sorting out mat pay. The worse part is I work for one of those big corporates and their HR and Payroll is outsourced and only respond by email. It's becoming so painful to sort something simple out!!! Arrrgggghhhh

Alexandra6 · 06/12/2013 14:10

I am on my bouncing ball now having mild contractions and trying not to get my hopes up that they'll progress into something more!

What's the prob with work? I'm not actually sure how my pay works (whether I get paid at the beginning or end of the month usually) so not sure when mat pay starts and also was tricky as I started mid month. Planning to just keep my next few pay checks and then try and work it out to make sure I get paid correctly, especially as with stat pay you really can't afford to miss out.

Ok so that last contraction did hurt (not massively, just a bit). Pleeeeease let it be labour!!

Thingymajigs · 06/12/2013 16:26

I hope this is it for you alex. Good luck! Smile

kittykatsforever · 06/12/2013 20:39

Ooohh Alex, how are you getting on? X

Alexandra6 · 07/12/2013 09:32

I had regular contractions, timed them over an hour last night and they were literally every few mins apart and 50 seconds but now they've stopped?! Why've they stopped?! Argh!

kittykatsforever · 07/12/2013 19:44

Oh no Alex Hmm any change?
Braxton hicks maybe??

Alexandra6 · 07/12/2013 19:55

Well they could have been but they were really regular and for ages?! Have had a few today and about three recently that were actually painful, really spaced out though so not frequent at all today. Induction day is so close though and I feel like things are happening but not fast enough eeek!

kittykatsforever · 07/12/2013 20:55

There's still time, get bouncing on that ball, it all sounds promising some people do labour over a few days x

WhenSheWasBadSheWasExhausted · 07/12/2013 22:23

Ooh I've missed loads alex well done having sex twice in one day, I don't think I managed that when ttc never mind massively pregnant.

Really hope labour gets started again and goes smoothly.
