All good hear too but same as when got a nasty cough that refuses to go away.

twinkle we miss you and I will pray your journey isn't much longer now and you don't have to wait anymore. Xx

twinklestar2 · 15/08/2013 22:35

Long and painful sums it up perfectly, lol

kittykatsforever · 16/08/2013 06:24

It must have really knocked you down Winkle, I can't pretend to know how painful it must have been to go through all that treatment for it not to work Hmm will you be having a frozen cycle soon? I hope your free goes work and you can spend that 5k on prams and other baby things
My friend has recently had hers done at a clininc in London, it was 10k Shock she had to go in everyday but it has the best results from anywhere else apparently, I'm not sure what its called but sure you probably know, she felt they had to give it a go that was the best they could before she gave up as she's had 4 failed attempts and she's just been able to announce to the world (12wks)she's expecting twins Grin it's never worked before !
I'm sure you'll get there to as you've both fought so hard x

twinklestar2 · 16/08/2013 09:24

Thanks kitty. Eek at 10k, that's a lot of money.

We have a consultation in a couple of weeks, then we'll take it from there.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/08/2013 11:57

Really hope you get a second round on the nhs winkle

Had a scan this morning, it went mostly well. The placenta is not low and he has turned so is now head down.
He is measuring a little small though, he's measuring 29 weeks when I am very nearly 30 weeks. I know I shouldn't worry but I can't help but worry. Then the sonographer said he weighed 3 pounds. Everything on google says 3 pounds is about average for a 30 week baby. I'm very confused and am definately overthinking this.

She also said, well your small though - I'm really not, I'm 5 7 and a size 12/14. Hardly tiny.

BelissimaLol · 16/08/2013 15:20

When you only need to worry if the discrepancy is more than 3 -ie at 30 weeks if you measured less than 27 or more than 33. Apart from that all is good. And a little small is good for when its coming out GrinGrin. I measured a week behind throughout pg and baby was born 7-2 which I think is on the small side but I was happy with that. Honestly, don't worry x

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/08/2013 18:47

winkle - so sorry first go at IVF hasn't worked and things are taking such a long time. Keeping everything crossed that you and Mr W get another free go and that it does the trick so you can spend your savings on spa treatments & changing bags.

when - my obs/gynae Dr friend always tells me how inaccurate those scans are for weight - they seem to suggest babies are going to be massive all the time so gestational diabetes mum get induced and end up with babies who are only 7lbs. Glad you got to see your LO and im sure size won't be an issue Smile

41 weeks today - exhausted and plenty of twinges but nothing more!!!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/08/2013 20:26

Thanks lol and little you are right I shouldn't waste any more time thinking about it.
My daughter was 7 pounds 2 when she was born too. She then proceeded to guzzle milk and went from 25th percentile at birth to 85th at 8 weeks old. Maybe I just produce slightly small kids at birth (but then they make up for it when born).

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/08/2013 20:27

little sorry the twinges are amounting to nothing. You must be beyond fed up by now

twinklestar2 · 16/08/2013 21:21

When I won't get another free go, I only get one free round

Right girls I'm off again, I'll pop in again soon I'm sure.

Best wishes to all.

resipsa · 16/08/2013 22:01

Hi guys. Thanks for thinking of me! All been shit chez nous lately but what can you do?

Little hope he/she decides to make an entrance soon!

kittykatsforever · 17/08/2013 06:04

Oh winkle that sucks. I don't know why but I was under the impression you were getting 2 goes, I can never understand why what your entiteled to depends on your post code!
Res sorry to hear things are shit Hmm

LittleMissSnowShine · 17/08/2013 07:23

winkle - FFS Hmm I'm sure you have researched all of this til your brain is ready to explode but if you haven't read Zita West I know a couple of people who swore her books helped them to get their bodies 'ready' for second and third round IVF. Really wishing you luck xx

res - and same to you too xx

Another crampy night and at a couple of points i half thought things might be kicking off but nooo baby so 41+1 today, T minus 48 hours til induction....

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 17/08/2013 08:35

res good to hear from you but sorry things aren't great.

Alexandra6 · 17/08/2013 12:51

littlemiss sorry dtd night didn't work and fingers crossed something happens soon! On the dates side, my NHS dates are slightly out (I only know because of the clomid and watching the egg coming out on dildo-cam) so mine seem to be a few days off based on measurements.

I don't think scan measurements are always that accurate so try not to worry when and glad everything else on the scan was ok. Also I hope you and red are feeling better after your colds?

red I can't believe your DP will watch OBEM, mine won't in fact he seems worryingly nauseas and freaked out if it's even on for a second, bad sign! Wink

Kitten hope you and your dad are ok.

winkle and res lovely to hear from you and I'm really sorry you're having shit times with ttc, god it's hard, I really hope you both have some luck soon. winkle my friend had successful IVF at a clinic in London so let me know if you want the name of the place.

wee hope your DP gets based nearer to home.

I'm good, feeling lots of lovely little kicks, have friends from Oz staying with us at the moment and it's also mine and DH's two year anniversary on tues eek I'd better sort a pressie/card etc! We've also started a loft conversion so am hoping we can get that done as quickly and stress free as poss, am also a bit worried about the dust as my throat was hurting yesterday but that won't harm the baby right?! MIL says we can bring the newborn back to hers if the building work isn't finished but that really would be a last resort as I want alone time with DH and the newborn in our house!

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/08/2013 01:42

Checking in with my birth announcement Grin Grin

Well DS2 arrived at 9:49pm this evening, 10lb3oz (!!!), just tens & gas and air lol Arrived at hospital about half 7 at 6cm. On v short walk from carpark into maternity centre, contractions seemed to really step up a gear and i started feeling v warm and queasy all of a sudden.

I'd had an idea i might like to use birth pool and one was free so midwife brought me on round while DH got our stuff from the car. By the time he got back ten mins later I had to throw up, then started on the gas and air while midwife started running the water for the pool. It was nearly ready for me to get in and then waters broke all over the floor - still was wearing shoes & leggings Grin Merconium in waters tho so no pool for me in the end. Straight away started feeling like i push which caught me a bit unawares. So too late for any other pain meds. Just less than an hour later and there DS2 was - pediatrician hadnt even had a chance to get her scrubs on!!

Needed a few stitches and i am pretty sore down below but he's absolutely gorgeous and me, DH and DS have the room to ourselves for the night so it's really peaceful & lovely.

Will check back to read everyones news Smile xx

kittykatsforever · 19/08/2013 06:53

Oh little what a lovey birth story !
So pleased for you and great news he came before induction! You did amazing to do it all on gas and air, when did your waters break with ds1? Just interested to know if it was earlier and you found it less painful this time as with dd1 my waters broke first and I was in agony, with dd2 when I got to the hospital ( I went because I'm quick rather then the pain) I was only really uncomfortable but my waters were still intact, the pain difference was unbelievable!
Rest rest rest and can't wait to see a picture of your new addition x

Thingymajigs · 19/08/2013 06:53

Congratulations little! Smile A 10lb baby on just gas and air is amazing. I bet he's adorable. Hope you get lots of rest. x

resipsa · 19/08/2013 07:45

Congrats little!

resipsa · 19/08/2013 07:45

But like thingy, 10lber on gas/air? Amazing!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 19/08/2013 08:16

Grin Grin Grin so you beat the induction. Wow

And wow and congrats on your 10 pound 3 baby boy. I'll bet you are a bit sore down there. So impressed you managed that on just gas and air.

Huge congratulations again, make sure you get lots of rest.

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/08/2013 08:17

I know - I wanted an epidural with DS1 and wasnt able to have one, bank holiday weekend, only one anethitist etc. So this time I thought def an epidural or at least diamorphine but too late!!

Midwife had to break my waters with DS1 and contractions prob hurt more after but i didnt really notice them being stronger. Last night I was standing there waiting for the pool to fill up and I had to have a quick puke and all of a sudden I just felt loads of pressure and then POP! A proper flood of water! Midwife took me into bathroom to check if there had been meconium and clean me up which necessitated leaving the gas & air behind which i thought would be fine, cos I was still wearing tens machine. But next few contractions were epic and then i started feeling like i needed to push. So yes, after waters went it definitely all ramped up a level!!

Cant say we slept much last night, despite lovely quiet room - too excited I guess Grin Grin i'll get a photo up later x

Alexandra6 · 19/08/2013 09:38

Yay little aww loved that story, your baby was nearly as big as I was (10 5) and am also Shock about just gas and air! Big congrats.

I've been thinking lately about trying to do it on just gas and air purely after someone told me she had a quick labour and birth like yours, but they gave an early epidural as she thinks that why she ripped so badly and it was an awful birth story. What does everyone think on pain relief and trying without? I also heard pethidine is to be avoided but I need to ask that other friend who said that why!

Congrats again little Grin

Kittenkatzen · 19/08/2013 10:03

Hugs to res and winkle, so sorry it's so crappy for you both Sad

when as the others have said I wouldn't have thought a few days makes much difference at this stage in terms of size? I had a mw appt yesterday and was measuring 35 at 36+3, mw didn't say anything and I secretly thought it was possibly a teeny bit good Blush

alex happy anniversary for tomorrow! Have you got anything nice planned? Really hope your building works are finished soon, I know what you mean about wanting to have alone time with your DH & newborn - we have a new car on order which is due to turn up in the first week of Sept....EDD is 12th Sept so should be fine, but current car is a silly two seater sporty thing! We've had lots of lovely offers of lifts home from the hospital if needed, but I've come over all precious about it and have told DH that if the new car hasn't arrived then I want us to hire a car for a day rather than accept a lift. Stupid I know, but it just feels important.

little HUGE congratulations to you, so glad you managed to beat the induction! And 10lb 3oz - ouch, well done you!! Can't wait to see some pics later, and hope you get to go home soon.

alex I'm booked into a mw led birthing centre which is 20mins from the nearest hospital - the only pain relief they have available there is gas & air, birthing pools and pethidine. I've heard that pethidine can make you pukey/spaced out and also crosses the placenta so can make baby sleepy, so am hoping to avoid that. Have hired a tens machine to use too (which should be here next week - eek!!)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 19/08/2013 11:25

kitten are you 36 weeks already Shock. You are right I need to try and chill out about the whole think (this is not one of my talents). Should be seeing midwife later so will get her to reassure me.
The birthing centre sounds lovely, I would love to try a water birth this time round, best of luck with it, obviously we all want to hear the birth story when it happens Grin I love birth stories.

alex I was a bit of a wimp with pain with dd. I had a long labour though, 36 hours from waters breaking to birth. I asked for an epidural but no anesthetist was available. I found gas and air brilliant, pethidine did nothing at all for me. Remifentine (sp?) was really good but it stopped working during the pushing phase so I managed on gas and air.
Oh I didn't tear either but I did loads of perineal massage and dd was only 7 pounds 2.
I don't know what would be best for you, I think midwives try and put you off epidurals because it makes the birth riskier (nothing horrendous just riskier).
