Thought I may as well start this given I'll be around for another (hopefully) 14ish weeks :) Hope I've not crossed posts with anyone!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleMissSnowShine · 12/08/2013 08:50

40+3 today, ladies, and the baby is still hiccuping, which (apparently) seems to mean that he is still practice breathing and they are supposed to stop doing that two days before they are ready to be born! Don't remember if DS1 had stopped doing that but he probably had. On the other hand, I can't help but be surprised by my EDD this time, because it would have meant my cycle was exactly 28 days when I conceived and with my pcos and v irregular, dodgy cycles I am not convinced I've had a nice regular 28 day cycle in my life!! DS was 4 weeks out according to dates for example, he should have been due 3/8/2010 and his eventual agreed due date was 28/8/2010 ... But scans this time round seemed to confirm dates so I thought maybe just this once I'd had a regular cycle. Now I'm thinking, though, that maybe this baby was just big for dates all along and perhaps I should really only be 39 weeks this week or something... Oh well, even if he shows no sign of emerging under his own steam, induction is a week today!

kitty - Ah 12 hours of blissful sleep! I am soaking it all up min since I know it will be getting very interrupted very soon!!!

RedRobin1 · 12/08/2013 09:38

kitty I am very envious of 12 hours of undisturbed sleep. I wonder what this little one will be like.

DH and I watched an episode of OBEM yesterday and I was getting so teary at the sight of newborns. I can't wait to meet baby and see him/her for the first time and have that special cuddle. I am so impatient for 9 months to be over so I can just stare at my baby.

11 days to 20w scan!

little my mate in RL is also 2 days overdue now. I keep waiting to hear who's going to go into labour first :) Maybe you are right about your EDD and it could have been miscalculated with irregular cycles. I am still in doubt about mine.

kitten how's your dad doing? hope SIL and dad are both recovering well.

kittykatsforever · 12/08/2013 10:14

Red I didn't have 12hrs lol but yes it was nice to have peace and a good nights sleep Grin
It's so exciting meeting your baby for the first time, I'm jeleous! I love obem I used to be hard as nails and was described of having emotions of steel and yet this morning I was practically crying at finding nemoShock I've become such a softie since parenthood
11days till scan Shock god how exciting! It's going fast now
Little, I'm not a great believer in the due dates, I was moved a week forward with dd1 which couldn't be right then she came 3wks earlier then That! Hopefully it's not too long and like you said whatever happens hell be out in a week anyway Grin

LittleMissSnowShine · 12/08/2013 10:38

kitty- I took DS to see The Croods a couple of weeks ago and I was a weepy, emotional mess for most of the last half of the film lol Parenthood plus pg hormones equals weepy!!!

red - ah so soon til big scan, v exciting!!! I keep almost forgetting there's a real baby at the end of this prob because it's been going on so long lol

RedRobin1 · 12/08/2013 11:32

I know what you mean about an emotional mess! I used to find newborns ugly and wrinkly once upon a time and never thought babies could make me emotional but now the mere sight of one has me welling up and going "awwwww" - they are so tiny....bless! Can't wait to meet my little bundle Smile

I need to get a grip!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 12/08/2013 20:11

I can't wait till I see mine either red

Scan on Friday to find out if my placenta is too low, if he is breech and if his growth is ok. I think the growth will be fine as the bumps only a little bit behind where it should be. I really have a horrible feeling I'm in for a c-section though.

Hoping you are getting a bit if rest little

LittleMissSnowShine · 14/08/2013 09:59

when - good luck for Fri! What makes you think they will recommend a section?

red - Oh I know, I even love other people's babies now and pre-DS I was pretty much completely oblivious to the under 5s lol

40+5 today!! Was awake a lot of last night - for the last few weeks my sleeping pattern has been a bit off the wall anyway, prob hormone surges, but last night I was really crampy - ended up reading all night and exhausted today (thankfully DS is with MIL today tho). Not sure if it was just digestive though, heartburn is still driving me crazy!! Anyway, no 'proper' contractions yet, just practice ones. Don't really mind baby being late at this stage but I'd really prefer to just go into labour myself than have to be induced on Monday. Everyone think positive, water breaking thoughts for me!!!

Chanting for little Break waters Break Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 14/08/2013 15:19

I am visualising rushing water for you little. Come on baby it's time to make an appearance

LittleMissSnowShine · 14/08/2013 17:40

lol...gush!!! Just took DS out round the park for 40 mins, really cramping up again but it was like this all last night too, only to fizzle out around 4am Angry Hoping feverishly by the time proper contractions start that I'll already be 5cm or something Wink

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 14/08/2013 19:01

Might be time for desperate measures, maybe you need to dtd.

How amazing would it be to go into labour already 5 cms gone?

LittleMissSnowShine · 14/08/2013 19:56

DH is out tonight (tho driving!) but I've made him promise to wake me up when he comes back in if I've fallen asleep and yep...dtd it is!! Really can't be bothered but desperate measures Grin

BelissimaLol · 14/08/2013 20:14

Omg little desperate measures indeed!!!!! Hopefully a shag will do the trick Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 14/08/2013 20:45

Well you are more up for it than I would be at 40+ weeks. I would have told mine to dtd with me when he gets home but to try not to wake me up. Grin

Really hope it works.

Just had a flashback to when we were all dtd when trying to conceive. That feels like ages ago now, I just wish resipsa and wishful were on this thread with us. Has anyone been following stalking them?

twinklestar2 · 14/08/2013 22:54

Hi everyone just popping my head in to see how littlemiss is doing :)

Kittenkatzen · 15/08/2013 07:29

Hey winkle lovely to see you, how are things with you?

I've been so busy since leaving leaving work last week, I've missed loads - surely mat leave is supposed to be relaxing?!

Thanks for all the well wishes for my dad everyone. He's a little better but recovery will be a long and very slow process I think (could be in hospital for up to a year Sad)

thingy my bags (i have 4 Blush) are half packed at this point, and I keep launching random bits and pieces at them so really should get them sorted properly soon I think!

red poor you feeling rough, hope the cough goes away soon must be so uncomfortable for you

lol two weeks - where is the time going?!

little hope your DH remembered to wake you up and that dtd did the trick! Sending contractiony vibes your way!

when I agree it does seem like forever ago, but at the same time I can't quite believe that it's halfway through August already - very confusing!

weechops · 15/08/2013 08:06

Little I'm thinking watery thought for you :)

I'm slightly excited - tomorrow dh finds out if he has a chance of a job at home! He hasn't worked at home for 5 years so it'll be amazing if it works out. And I can stop worrying about phoning random oil rigs when I'm in labour to get him on a chopper :)

LittleMissSnowShine · 15/08/2013 09:13

when - that is some good multi-tasking advice lol

wee - Awww, that's amazing, keeping fx for you and DH that this job works out so he's nearer to hand when you need him for the birth and for all the night feeds etc. Not that mine helped out much with the whole being awake during the night thing but handy to have someone to get up and make you a cup of tea when thoroughly needed!!

kitten - Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Great news that he's on the mend, disappointing that he will have such a long road to recovery ahead but hope that his prognosis continues to improve. Hope you are able to start relaxing now mat leave has started, it's important to squeeze in as much rest as you can!

winkle - hello i'm hanging in here. How are you lady? How is the IVF going?

Bounced on ball like a mad thing again last night after long walk round park and yes, gravity defying as it may have seemed, also managed to dtd and then stay put to allow the magic ingredient (ha!) to do the trick. Alas, 40+6 today and...no baby yet!!! My rib cage and pelvis feel like they are going to crack apart if there are too many more days of this to come Grin I need some Wine Wine Wine Wine

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 15/08/2013 10:22

little well done on dtd, really hope it gets things moving

kitten glad your dad is recovering but sorry it looks like being such a long haul for him. Hope you are ok.

wee ooh work from home sounds great. Fx

winkle really good to hear from you, hope all is going well. How is resipsa doing?

BelissimaLol · 15/08/2013 12:10

Hey winkle. When does your second round start??? We've still got your place here Grin
I can't believe you have the energy for a shag little! You said I was hardcore GrinGrin
Good news on your dad kitten. This kind of thing needs to be taken one day at a time. I know how hard it is Confused

twinklestar2 · 15/08/2013 16:56

I haven't hear from res in a while, she pops up now and then but not consistently.

I'm doing..... Ok. Putting one foot in front of the other and trying not to think too much. Feel very sad when I think we're hurtling towards the end of another year and I don't feel any closer. But trying to remain positive (whilst trying to save £5k for ivf GULP).

twinklestar2 · 15/08/2013 16:59

Oh I just remembered the last time resispa popped up her mum was having cancer treatment. So I hope all is ok.

BelissimaLol · 15/08/2013 19:38

Bless you twinks. Your journey towards becoming a mum seems to be quite a long and painful one. I'm sure you will get there but I can only imagine how heart wrenching this is for you. We are here to hold your hand all the way.
How's everyone else?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 15/08/2013 20:57

All good hear lol apart from a stinking cold that refuses to just piss off.

winkle good to hear you are still plodding on with everything, my heart goes out to you and mr w.
