Begeez. I think the same person that said no mr whippy probably wrote that stupid article that came out yesterday. I know others will disagree, but I am just going to be sensible in moderation. Being pg has been miserable enough as it is already with all the vomming without having to avoid absolutely everything that might have a risk factor. And I need to eat the things I can stomach! I think bean has had an intimate relationship with toilet cleaner too by the amount of time my head has been down the loo. Am avoiding all the things NHS tells you too but not going to worry too much about the rest.
Welcome mrsm, and congrats!
humpty, your DH needs a smack. Maybe tell him that for every night he does it, you're having an equally lengthy and drunken night once baby is born (obv after BFing) and he will be babysitting. And your mobile will be "out of battery". I'd be even more pissed off if he's on gardening leave!
Xxx

X posted. pea have been thinking about you too. Sorry to hear you had to go into hospital. Are you taking some time off work now? Lots of love xxx

LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:25

Thanks MrsAVB... Well if working from home counts then yes. Wink. I know you are going to tell me off but I can help it.... Ha a ha

Frog I'm Sad I made you Sad. I totally agree that the number of things you have to avoid / not do / not eat / do eat is totally mental and I am guaranteed to want everything I am told I can't have because that is the law... Incidentally, the meal you had sounds fab - yum! Anyway, I am consoling myself with Cornettos! Smile

Toby prepacked salad? is that not ok? The world has truly gone mad if that is on the list of things to avoid!

Frizz1986 · 06/06/2013 16:27

Wow pod that sucks. Glad ur out and all is getting better.
toby I really want a choc brownie ice cream now! Will think of u Sunday too. Fx we both have happy news (am trying to stay positive but also being logical that things might not be ok so hopefully I can handle whatever happens)
As for all food things I am currently stuck eating crackers with cheese. Am a total found hound and hate not wanting things. I can't even stand the idea of pasta at the mo and i am a complete care fiend!

Frizz1986 · 06/06/2013 16:27

At should have said carb fiend lol.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 06/06/2013 16:28

Thanks lovelies - I won't namecheck you all - I will be avin a word with Mr Humpty tomorrow. And over the weekend.

Mr Whippy is out due to temperature of storage not being constant, I thought - the bacteria might form if temp fluctuates? I don't mind, I'm an ice-lollies girl. Also - reconstituted dust made me Grin.

vatta I am itchy like an itchy thing. No eczema (sp?) but I just itch. All the time. Including in unladylike areas. I can't develop crabs as a symptom of pg, right? RIGHT? I use Aveeno body lotion with almond oil, which helps (and sinks in without being gloppy). I've heard olive oil (neat) is also good.

pod welcome back, sorry to hear you had a rough time, hope you're feeling better!

frog don't apologise! It's fecking ridiculous - esp as advice changes. I would rather a list of 'these things are properly risky, e.g. liver (Vit A), pate, soft cheese. These things are a tiny bit risky, e.g. Mr Whippy' and I could make my own choices.

MrsAVB · 06/06/2013 16:30

I'm not going to tell you off pea. I know I'm nowhere near as bad as you, but I refused a 2 week sick note too... to me it seemed a bizarre suggestion. But as I said you are much more poorly than me, love, and I hope WFH = WFbed in your pjs, and that your employers are being sensitive.

Xxx

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 16:30

Apparently there is a risk of listeria with pre-packed salad. Yep. And there's also a risk of me getting run over by a bus next time I cross the road.

LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:31

Fizz. Thanks not had a chance to catch up properly. I assume you have a can on Sunday? Hop all goes well..

Just to add to the food debate (if you can eat that is). Did you ladies know we are ony allowed two small tins of tuna a week because of the potential mercury content?

OP posts:
MrsAVB · 06/06/2013 16:33

I think if you have crabs humpty, that's something else to be having a word with DH about! Grin.
Forgot to say I am itchy too, especially my hands. But I think mine has started since I started the meds.

MrsAVB · 06/06/2013 16:35

Shit, does that mean I can't drink the thermometer too? Grin x

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 16:35

:o

LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:36

You a probably allowed the thermometer but not eat more tan two small tins of tuna a week.. Grin

OP posts:
LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:38

The drugs have one to my head.. I meant you are probably allowd to drink the thermometer bu you can't eat more than two tins of tuna a week... Ha ha ha ha Grin

OP posts:
MrsAVB · 06/06/2013 16:39

Oh, and I heard jumping out of windows is bad for you too. But can I do that if I don't eat the tuna and mr whippy?

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 16:44

If you jump out of the window whilst eating a Mr Whippy, you probably won't notice the listeria.

LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:46

Ha ha ha... Yeap, perfectly safe to do that. BUT no pineapple or papaya or fruit salads contenting either fruit.... And only two portions of salmon a week.... Aahhhh its the potential vitamin A this time..... Grin

OP posts:
Bikey86 · 06/06/2013 16:59

Don't forget ladies...that you must not eat shark!!! Because that is everyone's fish of choice!!! As for Mr whippy...its just getting out of hand. Also I heard 4 time of tuna a week...not two!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 06/06/2013 17:01

You lot are Grin today. You are making me snort with laughter.

I heard you can die from guns and knives. If I don't do this, may I have some Brie? With a pineapple and papaya (pre-packed) salad, from a tin, in a New Car, with tuna, wrapped in one of those New Things Made of All Chemicals Which We're Not Allowed Now?

enormouse · 06/06/2013 17:02

Grin thanks for putting my worries into perspective and for helping me decide what to have for dinner. Tuna and jacket potato. BUT if I spontaneously combust/keel over/God knows what I blame all of you! I may live dangerously and have a small coffee after dinner (my first of the week)

Frizz1986 · 06/06/2013 17:02

I knew about the tuna and am gutted as i enjoyed my tuna mayo potato on Tuesday.

It's because tuna are higher up the fish chain so the small fish tuna feed on slowly start to build mercury as they eat (because of what they eat) and as the tuna are eating fish that have eaten fish etc etc the Mercury content is much higher in them as they get all the Mercury that the fish they eat already have in them!
Its one of the few things I understand about random pregnancy no nos!

MrsAVB · 06/06/2013 17:02

Damnit...
X

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 06/06/2013 17:02

No SHARK? Sad

That's dinner scuppered.
