So i booked an early scan. After almost booking one the other week and then deciding against it we have changed our minds again.
I know the spotting and cramps were prob nothing as they only lasted 2 days and now seem to have gone but it seems silly not to when we have found a place about 40 mins drive away that specialises in scans and they are only £50. It's only a 10 min app so a lot of money for the time but if it just confirms that as of now things are ok or not then I should feel a bit less neurotic!
Got my booking app tomorrow first thing (thank god as didn't want to have to carry a tub of pee with me all day) and then scan on Sunday pm when i will be 9 weeks so hopefully if there is something in there we should get a heartbeat!

I am still fitting into all my clothes but the bloating is getting bad! Am wearing a floaty dress at work that has elastic just above the belly so think it is covering it ok. And if anyone asks why I am all of a sudden changing my work attire I can point out that I haven't done any ironing as was on holiday lol.
Really want some mat jeans. The elastic waistband looks so comfy!
Hope everyone else is coping ok. Not too much further until the 12 week milestone has passed.

Gabbyj · 06/06/2013 12:49

Rosa congratulations, am so pleased for you! Smile

Humpty how childish of your DH and how difficult for you Angry - I hope that things settle down soon...

Extra can't believe that your midwife wrote "Anxious Mother" across your notes - now you're anxious about being anxious! Smile Hope your scan appointment comes through soon...

I am still in the slightly hazy shocked Shock stage at present. It really doesn't feel real and certainly does feel too good to be true! My DD is 15 (from my first marriage) and I thought that she was a miracle (I have issues with ovulating), so 2 miracles seems slightly greedy! I am completely paranoid about this pregnancy and lots of people at work knowing (and not knowing who knows!) is not helping!!!

Gabbyj · 06/06/2013 12:50

MrsMLB hello and congratulations! Smile

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 13:34

Great news, rosa :)

Gabby, I would make a complaint about that. But then I am an arsey cow :o

Humpty, I would be furious about your 'D'H's behaviour. In fact, I'm furious on your behalf. How dare he be such a dick? Please give him a kick in the nuts proper bollocking and tell him to sort his life out Angry

Frizz, I have my scan on Sunday PM, too.

I have been busy today -- I've sorted out our wardrobe, changed the bed, mopped the floors, hoovered the whole house and done 4 loads of washing. I've just had a big plate of couscous, potato salad and coleslaw and now I feel a bit sick, so I'll have to sit on my arse for a bit. Shame...

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 06/06/2013 13:52

rosa yay! That sounds like a brilliant scan! I am also impressed at 'making breadsticks'. I can't make bread, let alone breadsticks. Your DH sounds like he was a cockbadger too - at least he made up for it with backrubs. What is wrong with men?

frizz good decision if it brings you peace of mind. Oh, and I just ordered some mat jeans from JojoMamanBebe outlet (only place I could find that does tall straight-leg ones) for £15. Can't wait to wear them!

Gabby that's lovely - so long-awaited, and so exciting for you!

Toby I will kick him in the nuts AND bollock him tonight. Oh, no - tomorrow night. Tonight is his leaving drinks at work, he told me a week ago and I agreed to him staying out v late, coming in steaming and sleeping in spare room. He really does need to sort his life out though - he's acting like a teenager. Now he's going to be on 'gardening leave' for 3 months (notice period) he needs to grow up and pull his weight and stop being a child.
Also, you def DEF need a sit down after all that. I did a massive pile of washing up last night and had to sit down after just that! Although I am Envy of your potato salad. Mmmmmmmmmmmm potato salad.

enormouse · 06/06/2013 13:52

gabby that's totally out of order
Humpty do what I did with my DP, be furious and tell him exactly what you need/expect. Ended up with him booking me a massage and apologising for being a cuntpuffin/cockwomble/similar
toby are you me?? Woke up at 6, did 3 loads of washing, cleaned the house. Ate some couscous with veg, watched DS distribute his about the place. He did eat most of it though. Now he's down for his nap and I'm veged out on the sofa.

Btw does anyone know if Mr whippy ice cream from the van is safe to eat?
Am dreading this weekend, housesitting for DPs parents and attending to their 3 cats (and 2 dogs and miscellaneous assortment of chickens). Can't refuse without outing myself.

Good luck to all those with scans. A little bit jealous but I love hearing about them

keskiviikko · 06/06/2013 14:00

Humpty I second Toby's kick him in the nuts! Hopefully it's just that he's getting it out of his system before he settles down to being a dad.

My tiredness and sickness seems to have gone, only had it for a week, but that was long enough. At the moment it does seem to have been the only symptoms. The sore boobs went at about week 5, they haven't grown (thankfully, I'm 34GG as it is!). Belly is sticking out a bit, but I am on the rotund side anyway. All my clothes still fit and I haven't gained any weight. If I hadn't had 2 positive tests I would think I'd gone through peri-menopause!

The midwife has me at 9+2, due on the 7th January. So only a couple of weeks to my dating scan.

Vatta · 06/06/2013 14:00

Just wondering, is anybody else really itchy? Is this a pregnancy thing or just random?

keskiviikko · 06/06/2013 14:03

enormouse I was told yesterday at my booking appointment that I couldn't eat Mr Whippy ice cream.

enormouse · 06/06/2013 14:09

Ah fk. I shared a small whippy with my DS a few days ago. Thanks keskiviiko, you've just saved me from buying one today. I'll have to buy some tubs of ice cream tomorrow.

vatta yes, my eczemas flared up but it might be to do with the heat here.

MrsGSR · 06/06/2013 14:44

humpty sorry your dh is being so unhelpful, he should be making your life easier :(

I might have to go out and buy some ice cream now!

MrsGSR · 06/06/2013 14:48

Rosa really glad your scan went well! Good luck to those having scans over the next few days :)

farmersdaughter · 06/06/2013 14:52

Hi all,

I'm read the whole thread and already can't remember half of what has been said. 7 weeks too early for baby brain? Wink

It's a wonderful sunny day and hiding inside, feeling sick. DD and I are watching Peppa bloody pig. Must drag ourselves outside shortly.

How is everyone else?

Vatta · 06/06/2013 14:58

Thanks enormouse - this is my first so I'm panicking over every weird change!

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 15:15

:o enormouse. Aren't we productive today?

I bought some gorgeous Sainsbury's fake Magnums (chocolate brownie flavour) the other day -- 2 packs for £4. And lovely DD went to the Co-Op last night with her own money and bought some fake Magnums for everyone, so we're fairly stocked for ice cream. I don't really like ice cream usually, but now and again it's nice to have one.

keskiviikko · 06/06/2013 15:31

enormouse don't worry about it. It's only a guideline, if you told women in other countries the list of stuff we are told not to eat they would look at you like you were off your trolley! Can you imagine trying to tell a French woman not to eat soft cheese or half of Europe not to eat cured meats!

Frogcatcher · 06/06/2013 15:35

Hello! I'd been busy filling up the other thread to find that everyone was already chatting away over here!!

Gabby I would have been furious about that.

Keskivikko what?! No Mr Whippy? All summer?!! Did they say why? I thought you just had to avoid ice cream that could have raw egg in it & I would have thought that Mr Whippy was pasteurised to within an inch of its life.

Waiting to hear today if we've had an offer accepted on a new house. It's got a children's slide built into a slope in the garden & two rooms with little ladders to loft playrooms, next to a park & near an excellent junior school. Just our perfect family home so I'm on tenterhooks!!

Gabbyj · 06/06/2013 15:45

It's to do with the nozzle I think - for Mr Whippy ice cream - can't have McFlurry's or any of that malarky for the same reason - my dh told me yesterday when I got excited about the ice cream van coming round! - he's been researching A LOT! Anyway, apparently germs gather in the nozzle and that's why!

Frog fingers crossed about the house...

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 15:50

I stopped eating Mr Whippy when I found out it's made up from powder. I try not to eat anything which is reconstituted from dust.

House sounds lovely, frog. Good luck!

Frogcatcher · 06/06/2013 16:06

gabby you just made me very Sad. The nozzle germs would never have crossed my mind in a million years. I guess that means milkshakes should be out too.

Mind you i'm getting v v annoyed of being told every day about something new that I shouldn't do or eat! All that stuff about cleaning products & stuff yesterday made me cross. I use "green" stuff wherever possible as I don't believe chemicals can be good for anyone but it's hard to avoid everything. It's starting to sound like pg women should be in Victorian-style confinement!

I'm not going to start eating dodgy kebabs or drinking loads of alcohol (as logically that is a poison so reallly can't be good for baby) but if I fancy something & know the origin & trust how it has been prepared/stored I'm just going to eat it I think. I went to a really nice restaurant the other week & dutifully switched out the goats cheese course on my tasting menu only have it replaced with a white chocolate mousse that had probably been made with raw egg! But DP & I had been looking forward to the dinner for ages so I just thought fuck it & ate that, a very small amount of octopus and a runny quails egg. I also had a teeny tiny taste of each of DP's tasting wines. Had my 8 week scan on Tues & the Froglet is fine with a good strong heartbeat. Life is for living ffs! Rant over Grin

LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:09

Hi ladies

Glad to see you finished the other thread... Choco bet your happy.. Wink.

Congratulations to all new ladies Flowers

Congratulations to everyone with happy scan news and my thoughts with everyone feeling shit.

As for me, well just been released from hospital following passing out a few days ago due to dehidration and lack of food because of my HG. On meds now and hopefully the will help with the food aversion and sickness.... Chickpea is perfectly happy though which is a relief and jiggling away.

Frogcatcher · 06/06/2013 16:12

Welcome back pod. Hope you're feeling better - so sorry that you had to be hospitalised but good that chickpea is fine.

Sorry about the rant. I bet you would probably donate a kidney just to be able to eat anything at all & wouldn't care whether it was allowed or not?! Hope the meds work wonders for you Flowers

TobyLerone · 06/06/2013 16:15

I was wondering about you earlier, Pod. I'm glad you're out of hospital now and will hopefully feel much better soon.

I'm totally with you, Frog. I've been eating prepacked salad, goats' cheese and the odd runny egg. I've had to give up all the good shit, so I'm allowing myself a few 'bad' things if I want them.

LittlePeaPod · 06/06/2013 16:17

Ahh Frog don't worry about the rant.... If I could bear to think about food I would probably be pissedoff too.... Grin
