I am 12 weeks tomorrow two sultana! It's taken forever to get here. Starting to feel anxious for my scan on Tuesday, hoping everything is ok.

Sultanajo · 15/06/2013 16:16

penny ekkkk! You have done so well not to have a scan before! It will be great but completely understand your worry. Wink

Sultanajo · 15/06/2013 16:18

altered yeah - another nearly 12 weeker! So exciting! Your DD so funny! Bless her! Grin

Sultanajo · 15/06/2013 16:22

bunt how frickin annoying! Grrrr! Hope u kick some ass and get it sorted....

mythree when I have had any sort of food poisoning in the past I have been on and off the loo every hour... I too have had a dodgy stomach the last few days - came on within minutes for seemingly no reason - possibly too much Appletiser. However, finally gone today - have had it a few times in this pregnancy. I take my hat off to u flying back and forth - sounds like pure hell!

Sultanajo · 15/06/2013 16:30

mrsgsr & pod food aversions/nausea have been horrendous all day today. Have cancelled my hair appointment as really worried I may vom in there and just feel totally wiped out after seeing DHs family this morning, a bit of shopping and a bit of cleaning. Dhs mate is over in half an hour. All I really want to eat is fruit, but it makes my throat swell up so I cant! Just cant believe its getting so much worse - WHYYYYY! Sad OK end of pity party....Blush

MrsGSR · 15/06/2013 16:36

Oh no sultanajo :( that sounds horrible :( lots of sympathy from me!

I've been feeling slightly less sick recently, but still have some aversions.

Sultanajo · 15/06/2013 16:41

Thats great mrsgsr - hope it continues for you. Smile

Beginning to get worried this is gonna continue throughout, but thats just cos on a downer today, but really thought things were starting to improve. Still, as long as bean is ok thats what matters! Only 28 more weeks! Omg!!! Grin

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 16:51

Vatta. Good luck... FX for your request..

MrsG how exciting telling your family.. With regards scan, you know what I am like... I am up for all the reassurance we can get. If it will make you feel better then I say go for it...

knights sorry you feel so ill. It's sounds awful. I hope you feel better soon. [flwers]

Bunt oh my god [shocked]. I just don't get how they can be so incompetent. WTF, I would be on the phone and giving them a bit of my mind. I hope they sort it out quickly for you..

Penny wow you have more strength than me to go 12 weeks with no scan. Good luck for Thursday..

Sultanajo its shit! It's just simply shit and I am so sorry you are going through it again.. I completely empathise with how you are feeling... But just think, it's nearly over... Hopefully just a couple more weeks....Flowers

So had our 10+4 scan today and as usual got really scared, shaking and nearly cried before because I was so worried something may have gone wrong. Thankfully it was brilliant.. Chickpea has grown since last scan and is now 41mm (1.61inch - about the size of a fig). Heart beat was great at 180bpm and little arms and legs have grown. Sonogapher was having trouble measuring and taking pictures of Chickpea because she/he wouldn't stop moving and wiggling about. Looks like we have an active one. Chickpea was wiggling and jumping about last time too. Sonogapher just said "my you have an active one here". Must take after DF as he has always been full of energy and has to constantly be doing something...

Felt pretty ill today but dragged myself and DF into town to get some maternity stuff. I got one new jeans and some new tops. Can I just say "oh my god, these jeans are so comfortable. Why did I bother waiting". I got a pair of elastic under belly and a pair of over the tummy. Both are fantastic. Grin

Yeay pod thats just brilliant!!! So happy you saw your active little bubs progressing nicely! In that moment nothing else matters does it? So amazing! Woop woop!

I too am in my maternity jeans and they are soooo comfy! Gonna get another pair I reckon - am sure I will be in them long after the little one is born! Wink

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 16:59

Thanks Sultanajo. Totally. Nothing is better than the moment you see them and hear that heartbeat going whoosh whoosh whoosh.. Grin. It makes all the aversions and shitty ms worth it. I wish I had my own machine at home...Grin

Loving the post baby maternity idea... Lol

Congrats on the scan pod Where did u get the maternity clothes? I went to town this morning for work trousers as currently have mine pinned shut! No where seemed to have ranges in store. I know next do them but couldn't see anything in there to try on. I am between sizes so different at different places so really need to try on but ended up coming home empty handed.
Was gonna try mothercare tomorrow but not even sure if they have somewhere to try on.

Am 10 weeks on Monday and am very happy that there is only 2 weeks to the 12 week scan. Even tho I had one last week and there was a heartbeat and everything I don't think i will settle until the 12 weeks are up.

Got myself the rough guide to pregnancy and birth and it's rather amusing. Very much from my point of view (i really thought that life would stay pretty much the same, I would just have a big bump and not be able to eat some things lol) Hoping that perusing it every now and then will help time go by.
Good luck to all those with scans this week. It's time for the first wave of 12 weekers to begin!

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 19:02

Frizz I got the jeans from Top Shop and they had a range of casual maternity wear which was OK. Got the tops from Karen Millern as they had some nice floaty tops and stretchy tops that look lovely and bump can grow nicely in. You can buy the maternity wear in your normal size (8/10/12/14 etc) pre preganacy too which is great.

Also bought some of these which extend your normal trouser fron Amazone. There brilliant. I am wearing these with my work trousers. Really comfy.

bunt what a bunch of idiots how hard can it be to work a calendar? I hope you get on the phone and give them what for! Donuts! Honestly!

Can people please tell what stores they are going In and finding all this wonderful maternity wear? I have just returned from Reading today for UTB trousers and didn't really find anything. I've tried Next, Topshop, H&M, Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, Mamas and Papas, Mothercare.

I have narrow hips and seriously big thighs so prefer trying stuff on first. This also means I avoid cheap fabrics due to static cling.

Do I need to go into London? Do ladies in Reading just not get pregnant???

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 19:41

Tooth. My SIL and I are all getting stuff fro here. You just get it in the sme size you were Pre-pregnancy. Everything is tailored really well.

Toothfairy - Gap maybe? I have a similar issue in that Topshop etc are skintight on my things but Gap worked for me! Maybe Mothercare?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 15/06/2013 19:47

I am DONE! Conference and workshop finished - managed to get through it all without passing out/killing anyone/letting slip. I cunningly 'sipped' wine at both receptions, sloped off to loo, chucked half, came back, joined another group, did same - voila! Apparently I have drunk an entire glass of wine, then I fill with water and no one realises! Grin

Have caught up with all your news, cannot remember a single thing though, apart from bunt - have you phoned to shout yet? That is CRAP.
Oh, and the baby in the thigh, which is ace.
Also, I have one or two or three stones going spare, for anyone who's trying to put on weight... Any takers?

I'm going to finally eat something nutritious (three days of sandwiches and crisps and pastries) and collapse into bed for twenty hours.

Also interested to hear maternity wear advice - JojoMamanBebe straight leg jeans were a disaster. Freakishly undersized. Not tried anywhere else.

Toothfairy78 · 15/06/2013 20:35

Cheers pod.

Have just ordered me some Demi perfect boot pants from Gap. They also have 15% discount on today if you enter the code GAPSTYLE at the checkout. Fingers crossed!

If I remember I will post up to let the ladies of more a JLo persuasion know how they fit and if the fabric's nice etc. Smile

BookTart · 15/06/2013 20:48

Maternity wear wise I bought a pair of black skinnies in my pre-pregnancy size from New Look today and they are a brilliant fit. I think they will be sort of mid-bump later on, but they are really comfy now. I also picked up a 2 pack of leggings which are fine now but will be brilliant when I'm bigger.

Sorry to keep dipping in and out of the thread like this. I am reading but just lurking. I've developed horrific anxiety, to the point that I booked a private scan for yesterday because I was so convinced that something bad had happened. I've not had any bleeding or anything, just very few symptoms, so I guess the hormones are making me lose the plot a bit. Scan showed that everything is fine, heard a heartbeat (obviously now I'm worried that it seemed a bit slower than expected, but the sonographer didn't say anything bad about it so it must be fine, yes?). I also had my booking in and told the midwife that I'm over-worried about everything. She was lovely and will come to my house on a Saturday two days before my 12 week scan to listen for a heartbeat for me. Basically, pregnancy has turned me into a mentalist! Poor partner is putting up with an awful lot!

Good to hear about all the lovely scans :) Who has told work already? I'm 10 weeks today, and I think I might tell them at 11 weeks (my boss is off next week). Any tips on how to tell him? He's about 12, and the thought of talking about this with him feel faintly horrifying!

Mythreeknights · 15/06/2013 20:50

Humpty I feel for you hasving just done same sort of thing as you over the last two days...although must admit the catering at the event I was at was magnificent (not that I could sample much as was mostly trying to prevent any escaping diahorrhea (nice!) I have spent most of the day in bed and now feel more human. It's like my battery went completely flat and I couldn't function at all. Fingers x your twenty hours in bed are uninterrupted...fathers day tomorrow means my two are now hyperactive with excitement. Thanks for all mat clothing tips too...I am just about still in my jeans (9 weeks) but out of my skinnies. Congrats on all scans today too, lovely news x

Mythreeknights · 15/06/2013 20:51

Book tart, apparently a slower heartbeat is more common for a girl...xx

enormouse · 15/06/2013 20:56

Hi everyone, hope your weekends are going well. Congrats and a little Envy to those of you with scans. hope the ms and ickiness wears off soon for those of you who feel crappy.

toothfairy asos maternity?

Well done with getting through your conference humpty. Sympathise with you over the crap eating, I had tinned hot dogs for dinner.

I had some fantastic non baby related news today. Got my end of year results through in the post and I got a first! Am over the moon as it I means I can apply full time to the unis I want next year.

Vatta · 15/06/2013 21:03

Humpty - well done on making it through your conference! Hope you enjoy your rest.

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 21:08

Book sorry you are worrying. But remember a heartbeat at 10 weeks means there is a 99.4% chance you will go full term. This is according to my sonogapher. Plus the baby's heart rate changes as they grow and as they move/wiggle about. Between 6-10 +4 weeks our LOs heart beat has varied from 120, 160 and 180. But apparently by the time we get to about 20 weeks the heart rate slws down again. I would not worry about the hart rate. It's the fact there is a heart beat that matters. But speak to your MW if you are stressing out to get some reassurance. Hope you feel better soon.
