Oh stiggley wishing for speedy recovery have a few Biscuit and some choc to see you through Flowers

PurpleDana · 07/07/2013 22:38

Yeah stiggley wishing u both a speedy recovery so u can enjoy your baby.
34 + 1 and I think baby is moving down a bit, I generally feel better & less awkward than I have for ages, and I am getting sharp shooting pains down my vagina when she moves, almost like when u have cystitis and it feels like u peeing razor blades! Anyone else got the same?
I'm doing ok with the heat, it's the hayfever that's getting me. But I bought a barrier balm yesterday from H&B so will see how that goes.

Gerty1002 · 08/07/2013 08:26

Just popping in to say hello, haven't been very consistent in keeping up with this thread but as August edges nearer I thought it would be a good idea to join in - due 30 August so 32+3 now.

Apologies if it has already come up but does anyone have any strong feelings about when their baby is coming? I've been convinced for months my LO is coming early but I have no real reason for believing so - first pg and he's measuring spot on the middle line.

chocolatesolveseverything · 08/07/2013 11:03

Hope you're bother feeling better soon Stiggley.

Gerty - I think my baby's going to to arrive late. No real reason, but lateness runs in both mine and DH's families, and he seems very comfortable in there. Even the standard pregnancy aches and pains have gone down a bit lately.

37+2

RuckAndRoll · 08/07/2013 11:06

Stiggley hope you get home again soon.

Gerty I'm guessing the baby is going to be late, but then I have this niggly feeling it'll arrive early just to let us know who's in charge as DH starts a new job when I'm 37 weeks so he wants it as late as possible!

Finishing work this week, can't wait Grin

35+1

PurpleDana · 08/07/2013 11:48

We've always had a feeling she's gonna come early. Only indication really is that at my last apt midwife said she already feels a good size. Now also wondering if the shooting pains in my flu are because she's moving lower into my pelvis... Or maybe it's just wishful thinking cos we cant wait to meet her!

Christelle2207 · 08/07/2013 12:39

My EDD is 2nd and I'm convinced he will be late - mind you the main reason for that is that I KNOW when I conceived - was getting regular scans and on clomid - and working back from the 2nd would be impossible as was day 2 of my cycle and didn't have sex at any point around then! My private scan which I had at 7 weeks agreed with my dates (EDD of around the 9th), now my MW thinks baby was just "long" when I had my dating scan, quite normal with tall ladies apparently. So i am thinking a week late, and of course this means I may be induced sooner than I would do otherwise, but tbh I'm seriously fed up already so think would be fine with that.
That said he has moved down a bit in the last week or so so we may yet have an early surprise. I hope not before the very end of July though as not organised. Finish work on friday too though, yey!

FoofFighter · 08/07/2013 12:47

I reckon within a few days either side of edd as very sure of dates.

babyhmummy01 · 08/07/2013 13:11

stiggley sorry to see you are back in hospital, hope u both have a speedy recovery and are back home soon.

I am convinced she is.gonna be early cos she has dropped a lot in the last week and she is sitting very low down which is making sitting and bending hard.

Am struggling with the heat, hard to.stay hydrated as needing to per so much! But am.loving it as we live in such a nice place when its sunny. However the heat is not helping my motivation to.clean my flat

Gerty1002 · 08/07/2013 16:55

Well due to very irregular periods my EDD has changed several times, but from later to sooner, so unlikely that the date is too late iyswim. Despite that I still have this niggling feeling. I think it may just be impatience to meet him, or the fear of being unprepared for his arrival. I was right about his gender but that's really just 50/50 haha :)

Snufflebabe · 08/07/2013 18:06

Congrats Stiggly! My DD developed jaundice after she was born, and after 5 days under the UV lights, we got home, only to have to go back in on day 7 as her jaundice levels went up again. She spent the night in an incubator and it seemed to do the trick. Worrying time, but the nurses were fantastic.

34+4 here, and feeling very very tired. I'm averaging 5 toilet stops a night, and everytime I want to change Side in bed I wake up to rearrange my pillows under the bump. I've had a few afternoon naps recently ( I never nap!) but with a toddler, I don't get much of a chance.

I have 2.5 weeks left of work, wishing time away. It is just so warm in the office.

New carpet going in nursery on Wednesday. OH meant to have painted the walls beforehand, but paint unopened! I think we will hit ikea at the weekend to get some drawers etc.

Midwife appt last week all went well. OH came with me for the first time this pregnancy, he was really pleased to hear the heartbeat. I'm measuring bang on 34 weeks and babys head down.

MrsPennyapple · 08/07/2013 21:21

Hottest day of the year so far here, hayfever through the roof, and very achy hips today. Thankfully, the under-boob sweat patches do not show on this particular top. I hate when skin is touching skin it doesn't normally touch!

36 weeks today, no idea when baby will decide to arrive, DD was five days early but don't know if that is remotely relevant.

Knackered again, can see me being in bed by 10pm!

babyhmummy01 · 08/07/2013 23:01

I am in full on nesting mode I think, cleaned flat from top to bottom, only the kitchen floor to do tomorrow, washed and ironed the same day which is unheard of and have cleaned all my windows on the insides and planning to tackle the outsiders tomorrow. I think.I am going mad. Although have to admit I am loving seeing all the second hand baby stuff on the line, sure that will change when I am constantly washing it cos she has ditties seven outifts in q day mind

Ditsy79 · 09/07/2013 11:11

Hope everyone is coping okay in this heat, I'm so glad I've finished work now.
Just got back from 36 week scan - baby is still breech, so I have been booked in for a Cephalo-version on 18th July. Am a bit nervous about it, but would rather they try to turn the baby round than just go for a c-section.
stiggley - hope you and Margot are both okay.

RuckAndRoll · 09/07/2013 11:15

Sat here with an ice pack on my feet and the fan blowing, it's actually quite nice! I finish work tomorrow, can't wait, but the list of jobs I have to do is huge.

Ditsy hope the ECV works for you.

Gerty1002 · 09/07/2013 11:23

Hottest day of the year here too, slightly worried about my 15 min walk to infant feeding class this afternoon! Hibernating indoors for now :).

I've seen two midwives in the past week, one said baby was breech, the other said he was head down! Still, I'm only 32+4 so there's time yet. Let us know how the ECV goes, unless baby turns before then :).

Is it just me or does the heat seem to make heartburn worse? Guzzling milk like a maniac today!

Gonnabmummy · 09/07/2013 12:31

Sitting outside in the yard.. Very small yard huge 8 foot walls. It's light but the sun ain't shining in ice cold drink and a paddling pool it's lovely.
Got a breastfeeding workshop thing to go to at 2 so hope it's cool there! Midwife again for next app will let you all know how it goes. Baby is head down and think he's getting further down he was really low yesterday hard to walk and I'm only 32+6 today!

babyhmummy01 · 09/07/2013 13:15

Gerty you may have a point, my acid reflux has been awful but allergic to milk so on lemonade.

Gonnabe my little lady is full on head down and getting lower, you have my sympathy on the walking thing as she is causing no end of discomfort.

Mw tomorrow and consultant on Friday and am dreading it. Have had various things flagged to me recently that are making me very uncomfortable about impending birth so my cavalier what will be attitude has instantly been replaced by sheer panic and anxiety.

PurpleDana · 09/07/2013 13:39

Is anyone else worried about keeping baby cool enough at night? My house is pretty cool downstairs but upstairs, especially my bedroom, is really warm & stuffy. I want to follow advice and keep baby in our room with us to begin with, but I can't help thinking she will be more comfortable in her slightly cooler and roomier nursery.

Gerty1002 · 09/07/2013 15:08

Yes PurpleDana I thought about this too, though I am hoping this heatwave isn't going to last til the end of August! Do you have blackout/thermal blinds in your bedroom? I find it helps to keep those closed for the day, especially whatever time the sun shines on that part of the house, with just a little crack open to let a breeze through from the window. Then when the sun is gone open them for a little while if there's a nice breeze.

Gonnabmummy · 09/07/2013 16:06

Just been to a breastfeeding workshop ran by our midwife she had lots of names on the list of people coming only me and one other woman turned up, I know it's a nice day but soo disrespectful the poor woman wasted her time really. I'm glad I went it was very informative but you could tell she was a little disappointed and the discussions p/flow of conversation isn't as good with just the three of us. Then they will be complaining nothing's on offer for new mums :/

moonflower325 · 09/07/2013 20:08

Just got back from a pain relief class with the anaesthetist at Tommy's. Can't say I'm any less confused than I was before about whether or not getting an epidural is a good idea. Does anyone know for sure about Tommy's Home from Home - if you decide to go without any pain relief and change your mind halfway through - can you then switch to the hospital birth centre or are you stuck there without any pain relief until you deliver? Am 34+1....getting close...severe backache and pubic pain :(

JollyShortGiant · 09/07/2013 21:14

Checking in :)

Stiggley · 09/07/2013 22:05

We are aiming to go home again tomorrow. Margot is feeding better. But can only cope with 10 min bf due to her prematurity. She falls asleep. She had just learnt how to scream and has a good pair of lungs!

I am feeling better. Still sore but will be for a while. Very tired but looking forward to going home. Let's hope we stay there!

Hope you are not too hot - it was boiling in hospital!

babyhmummy01 · 09/07/2013 22:12

Fingers crossed for tomorrow then stiggley keep us posted!!!
