Very early days but I'm due 26 January - really expecting early February after being 15 days late with DC1. Thought I'd get the ball rolling Grin

Anyone else?

It's bloody annoying isn't it that you are so so tired yet the moment you can finally crawl into bed you lie awake for hours!!!Hmm

littlestgirlguide · 21/06/2013 12:23

I saw my baby and it has a heartbeat :-) so happy Littlest.

However also confused, as they dated me at 5 weeks.... Which would mean I got my BFP at only 9 days after conceiving (on 28th may) and I know for a fact I didn't conceive any later than the 17th, best possible evidence IYKWIM! Last time in that cycle we DTD was 17th may, then DH went away with work for a week, plus I had every sign of ov at that time, it was CD 15... Plus I didn't think you could see a heart beat on an ultrasound as early as 5 weeks?

So should I leave my due date at 6th Feb, or change it to 20th Feb?

Got my booking in appt on 7th July and 12 week scan on 9th August (though I reckon I will be over 14 weeks by then!)

Sprite21 · 21/06/2013 13:23

hi littlest congrats. I would guess the scan is just inaccurate at this point with dates and wait until your 12 week scan to get a better EDD. Surely your own knowledge about ovulation and possible conception dates is primary here.

laura yes, yes, yes!

pettyprudence · 21/06/2013 13:44

No symptoms here yet other than I keep waking up really early in the morning and its annoying! I'm waking up before ds and he's hardly a late riser! I have a feeling the exhaustion and nausea will kick in right around my extra busy time in work late next week!

We won't be telling ds (2.3) until later in the pg - definitely past the 12 weeks mark. Might leave it quite late as he has no concept of time...

Is anyone planning on having a home birth (you might have all that discussion earlier in the thread...)?

Shropshiremummy2b · 21/06/2013 16:06

Hello! I'm due 3rd Feb hopefully.... I won't believe it until my scan on the 24th of July though.

Although planned, my husband was enourmously dissappointed that it didn't take many attempts to make the little raspberry sized thing inside my tummy.

As of yet my only symptoms are sore boobs and muchos weeing, i'm hungry all the time but then I always have been. All my clothes feel tight but think its too soon to pull the ripcord and buy maternity jeans.. although I am excited that pregnancy opens two big new shopping opportunities.

Sorry, i'm waffling. One question.... does anyone have dogs and babies? When will my dogs start to notice and stop climbing over my sore chest? Or is that an urban myth that they start 'understanding'?!

So excited to share this with people x

laura0007 · 21/06/2013 16:20

I have two dogs and as yet they seem oblivious! Not being in the slightest bit gentle with me oh no!!

laura0007 · 21/06/2013 16:21

And I am wearing my new maternity jeans today.. Not because I'm showing but because my poor bloated, constipated stomach can't handle my normal jeans digging in! But I am having to constantly pull these ones up all day, not sure which is worse really. Who said pregnancy was fun Wink

SugarMiceInTheRain · 21/06/2013 16:27

Littlest - good news about your scan, but confusing about the dates I agree! Wait and see what they say at the 12 week scan. I am champing at the bit already, can't wait til my 12 week scan even though I have another 6ish weeks to wait. Already losing track of my dates!!

Very sore boobs and some mild feelings of nausea today. Looking distinctly bloated right now Hmm And I am still so exhausted I nearly fell asleep on stage last night at our tech rehearsal Blush Desperate to tell the rest of the cast why I'm so tired - I let slip to one person yesterday, who said she'll keep schtum. I am also dead keen to get into my maternity clothes as they are so comfy with no tight waistbands and actually relatively stylish too! :)

littlestgirlguide · 21/06/2013 16:41

I have no maternity clothes! I sold all mine on eBay after having DD, convinced DH would never let me have another. Wish I hadn't now!

pettyprudence · 21/06/2013 17:06

I still have some if my old maternity clothes but have dropped a couple of dress sizes since then do I still get to shop for more Grin
other than a buggy board, sling, nappies and maybe a new cot there is nothu nothing needed for dc2 for at least the first 6 months. im sure that wont stop me thoughWink

barebranches · 21/06/2013 17:15

aaah waiting in the doc waiting room!! really nervous!!!

barebranches · 21/06/2013 17:16

also... guy in the waiting room with massive testicles.... wonder if thats what he is here for...!Grin

vix206 · 21/06/2013 17:21

I just got my scan date through Smile 15 July when I will be exactly 12 weeks. Can't wait!!

Bearfrills · 21/06/2013 17:28

Great news about your scan littlest :) I think everything is so tiny at this stage that it's hard to accurately date the pregnancy by scan until 11-13wks. When I was pregnant with DS they said I was 6wks at my first scan, exactly six weeks later I had my 12wks scan and was 13+4 so had completely caught up and overtaken my dates! With DD I had a scan at 7wks and my 12wks scan five weeks later where I was 13+5 so had again overtaken.

I'd go off the date they give at your 12wks scan.

sunflowered · 21/06/2013 17:28

Gp appointment done and dusted and edd brought forward to 18th feb by his dates. No new info really (learned it from the lovely people on mumsnet already Smile ) but very excited to work out that an 8 week booking appt should happen in just over 2 weeks time! On a bit of a buzz now. Only 34 weeks 5 days to go Wink

jazzcat28 · 21/06/2013 17:28

barebranches Grin raise your eyebrow in a suggestive manner - dare you!!

Had to go buy some cheap Asda bras today due to my boobs being so HUGE! I reckon I'm 5+2 today, god knows what size they will be in 3 months let alone by feb!

Perused the baby clothes section whilst there and didn't really feel like I was ready. I guess it hasn't properly sunk in yet. I'm excited but not ready to buy stuff yet. Perhaps after 12wk scan and we've told people. Am definitely looking forward to all the valid shopping trips in the coming months!

Got bad taste in my mouth today and am feeling a bit peaky so guess the nausea is on its way...

CurrentBunBaker · 21/06/2013 17:29

Wow this is a big bus, can you squeeze one more in? Got BFP a few days ago with due date of 26th Feb and think it's just about sunk in now. This will be my second, DD just turned 1. I have absolutely zero symptoms so far but from what I remember I didn't have much last time til the sickness started big time at 7 weeks.

petty I had a home birth last time and really hoping for one again, had lovely independent midwives but not sure how the legislation changes are going to affect them come September.

Great news on the heart beat littlest. I had a similar dates move early in my last pregnancy, despite me showing them my BBT charts and OPK results which were pretty conclusive about when I ovulated. Strangely enough at the 12 week scan they moved the dates back to where I said they were, I think early scans just have a massive margin for error.

SamL88 · 21/06/2013 17:31

My 'magic' remedy to get me through nausea at the moment is 3 dry crackers and a freezing cold fizzy drink. Both of which I have never have been overly keen on but now I can't get enough!

wplum · 21/06/2013 17:41

Hi everyone, great news about scans dates coming through!
I've been mostly lurking here so far! A quick question, yesterday I had some brown blood when wiping, from 0730 till around midday. Nothing much, just faint on the loo roll, poss looked more like brown discharge but I know it was brown blood. After lots of googling by myself and dh, we thinkits nothing to worry about as I have had no pain and its completely gone now. What's your thinking on this? I'm 6/7 weeks.

gofourthand · 21/06/2013 19:59

Petty i would like a homebirth too. I've had 3, all on the same sofa (!) so it's all i know or know how to imagine really. Are you thinking of it?

pettyprudence · 21/06/2013 20:04

wplum I think that can be perfectly normal so long as nothing more happens, otherwise go see your dr/epu?
Current I had a hb with my first too. Am wondering what to do with ds? Obviously I have got a while to think about this but my current plan is to keep my fingers crossed that baby arrives in the week daytime (and he goes to cm) or baby arrives in the night. Now I've written it down, I realised I only have to worry about 6pm-8pm, 6am-8am and weekends! Otherwise keep more fingers crossed for a dry day and send him out to the park with dh?
DH missed ds's birth as I was a bit in denial about the whole thing so I packed him off to a meeting the other side of the country... my bf ended up being my emergency birthing partner! We have decided that dh will hopefully be in the building this time but I might actually keep him downstairs and have my bf again. I'm worried dh wouldn't be particularly helpful (he never knows where anything is and I think his attempts to soothe me would annoy me, as would anyone's. He would also accept intervention without question) whereas my bf is medical professional and would be more support if anything went tits up. In terms of support for me, I really am at my happiest being left alone!

pettyprudence · 21/06/2013 20:07

xpost gofourthand!
Were your other dc around with your hb's? I'm definitely going for it again but probably worrying (or mildly crossing my mind!) about nothing re: ds being present/in the building! I could just imagine being in transition and ds demanding "play cars Mummy" and physically trying to drag me off the bed if I don't jump to it!

gofourthand · 21/06/2013 20:15

DS1 was here but asleep when his brother came. He was only 12m old so had no idea really. For DS3 the boys (3.5 and 2.5) went to a childminder. I don't think i could 'relax' enough til they'd gone. They left, mw came said i was only 3cms but with my history of fairly rapid labour she'd stay, and he crowned 40 mins later!

gofourthand · 21/06/2013 20:19

In reality i probably have to be at home as i haven't got time to get anywhere!

vix206 · 21/06/2013 20:30

I planned a home birth with DS but went 15 days over and had to be induced. Then had a PPH and lost 2 litres of blood Confused so that's put me off having a home birth next time as I think I'd feel safer at hospital in case it happens again. It was very scary Hmm
