Very early days but I'm due 26 January - really expecting early February after being 15 days late with DC1. Thought I'd get the ball rolling Grin

Anyone else?

feekerry · 20/06/2013 07:45

Well if i go from my bfp date when i tested i am 6 weeks today. Felt pretty sick this am too but managed to control with food.
Dd got up at 5.15am today. Envy at all those who get to stay in bed past 5.30am

moominlike · 20/06/2013 07:54

Bearfrills well done that's a huge achievement.
Unfortunately I was already a stone up from my usual weight when I fell pg (combination of contentment at home and comfort eating at work I think!). I did point out to the nurse that my shoes made me seem heavier...she in turn pointed out they also made me a bit taller. Good point.

Good luck with your interview Eeyorelsh

Felt quite positive yesterday but really down today. Hopefully work will be a distraction.

Have a good day all xxx

SugarMiceInTheRain · 20/06/2013 08:37

feekerry - I feel for you - hate being woken up too early. Now I can't get my boys out of bed in the morning! I am sooo tired as I'm in a play at the moment so out every night til late then have to come home, unwind for an hour or so before I can sleep. I have a 2 hour window free around 10.30 this morning and am sorely tempted to go back to bed for a nap!

littlestgirlguide · 20/06/2013 08:56

Is anyone else getting nosebleeds? I've had one the last three mornings, as soon as I've woken up. This morning went on for ages, resulting in my being late for work, and a very upset DD who saw me with blood all over me! Is it pregnancy related, or just nosebleeds?

vix206 · 20/06/2013 09:07

Littlestgirlguide I've read that nosebleeds are common in pregnancy.

bugsyburge · 20/06/2013 09:11

morning all, I'm dabbling between this thread & the January thread because I'm due somewhere in between.

i think nosebleeds are a common part of pregnancy although I get nosebleeds all the time!!!

my sickness has begun today.....Envy

SugarMiceInTheRain · 20/06/2013 09:30

Littlest I think they are quite common in pregnancy.

Eeyoreish Good luck with your interview!

This will sound ridiculous, as I remember how horrible morning sickness is, but I kind of wish I was feeling nauseated as at least it would be a sign to me that I really am pregnant. I have no symptoms whatsoever, apart from tiredness but tbh I've been tired for most of the last 7 years! I want to constantly snack at the moment and have been trying to justify it due to pregnancy, but again, I have a tendency to comfort eat anyway! Blush

Thingymajigs · 20/06/2013 09:40

littlest I'm not sure about how pregnancy affects it but my son who suffers with nose bleeds has started having them again this week. The weather seems to have a strong affect on his, especially a sudden change to higher temperatures.
I'm pretty symptomless. My boobs are bigger and I occasionally feel heaviness in my uterus but apart from that (and missing periods,) I wouldn't know I was pregnant. It was the same with my other two pregnancies so I'm not worried. All my discomforts come in later pregnancy like SPD, piles, restless leg syndrome and insomnia. Confused So I'm enjoying the lack of symptoms right now.
Just booked a weekend away in August for DP and I. Our last childfree weekend for a long while I imagine.

jazzcat28 · 20/06/2013 09:47

sugar I know what you mean. DH actually said to me last night 'I am worried you've mc'd already because you haven't had any morning sickness yet'. He meant it in the nicest way, I think I'm 5+1 so presume I've got a few weeks before the sickness starts.

thingy sounds like we have all the glamorous side effects to come!

Anyone seen their GP before their booking in appt with midwife? I'm seeing mine on Monday morning. Should I prepare for anything? e.g. will they want a urine sample? Do I need to ahem, prepare, down below??

Thingymajigs · 20/06/2013 09:54

I saw my GP when I was only about 5+1. I went in about something else but mentioned my pregnancy whilst I was there. All they do is fill out a form for NHS exemption and tell you to take folic acid and not to smoke or drink. Oh, I got a pack too which contains all the information and urine sample bottles you need for the later midwife appointments.

EeyoreIsh · 20/06/2013 10:03

Thanks for the good luck. Am currently sick in the loo rather than preparing Envy Grin

I know what people mean about the lack of symptoms being worrying. I felt really good most of yesterday and it was freaking me out!

I keep looking in the mirror to check I don't look pregnant in my dress! Which is silly as I'm only seven weeks! my boobs look great though, I for a change Grin

sunflowered · 20/06/2013 10:10

Good luck from me too eeyorish Smile

thingy I was told I have to see the gp first. I'm expecting it to be a bit of a non-event but exciting to get the ball rolling, and also to be able to leave work early on Friday afternoon Grin

sunflowered · 20/06/2013 10:12

Sorry, that was to jazzcat, not thingy. Think I'm going to give up posting from this talk app and go back to the old fashioned website...

bugsyburge · 20/06/2013 10:39

jazz it's pretty much a non event at the Gp.... ask you a couple of questions, tell you some dos & donts, give yoyo an exemption form & send you on your merry way Smile

jazzcat28 · 20/06/2013 11:48

Ah well, it'll be first appointment of many I'm sure so I won't get too excited!

Has anyone bought any pregnancy books? I've been looking at this one but not sure if it's worth the money?

Won't buy it until after GP appt as DH doesn't want me to go baby-zilla on him (we married last year so he knows how carried away I can get!)

vix206 · 20/06/2013 11:55

I won't buy one this time round but my favourite is what to expect when you're expecting. I loved all the detail, I don't think she left anything out!

littlestgirlguide · 20/06/2013 12:04

Got a call from midwife - scan tomorrow! I think She wants to do it early because i got a very high Downs risk last time? I will be 7+1, are they going to be able to see anything?

SugarMiceInTheRain · 20/06/2013 12:33

From previous early scans I've had I'd say at 7 weeks they might be able to detect a heartbeat - baby is still so small. I had one at 6 weeks which showed a HB, and another at 8 weeks which also did. I also had one at what I thought was 7.5 weeks but she dated it as about 5.5 weeks. HB was there albeit feint. I'm quite Envy at those of you getting early scans. I may fork out for a private one unless I can convince MW to refer me for one due to my fertility issues and MC history. On all 5 pregnancies I have had early scans for one reason or another (fertility treatment/ private scan/ threatened MC...)

bugsyburge · 20/06/2013 12:37

jazzcat.ive bought that book after my doc meeting, it's arriving Monday so ill let you know what it's like

mrscookie78 · 20/06/2013 13:06

Think thats the book I have, I quite like it Grin

Thisisfreakingmeout · 20/06/2013 14:03

My docs was a non event. Don't smoke or drink. Eat fibre and take folic acid. No exemption form, no pack. I have take pee to the MW and don't have a pot. Rubbish.

gofourthand · 20/06/2013 16:53

Hello, please may I join? Due DC4 on Feb 17th all being well. :)

DC3 also DS3 is only 8 months.

Eeeeep.

DawnOfTheDee · 20/06/2013 18:16

Congrats and welcome gofourthand

littlestgirlguide Nosebleeds are a common symptom of pg - it's because you have much more blood rushing round your body during pg so the capillaries in your nose sometimes can't cope and bleed. It's one symptom i've had with DD and with this one.

vix206 · 20/06/2013 18:36

Yes, bleeding gums here for the same reason!

OP posts:
laura0007 · 20/06/2013 19:07

I'm surprised I've not had any nosebleeds yet as I'm normally prone to them! Not that I'm wanting them either thanks very much if anyone up there is reading this....
