Very early days but I'm due 26 January - really expecting early February after being 15 days late with DC1. Thought I'd get the ball rolling Grin

Anyone else?

Your poor friend :(

Personally I wouldn't pay for a reassurance scan but that's just me. All it shows you is that everything is okay on that day which I know is quite blunt sounding, sorry. I can see the appeal of them though, worry is such a heavy weight and it can be such a load off to see everything is as it should be.

Sprite21 · 18/06/2013 20:29

Hi moomin yes, I think I will have to fake an injury. Same for me with the booked spa treatment, and the work issues.
I just had a 'mentoring' talk with my line manager today, all about my career progression and they are going to try and hand over some projects to me...
I feel really guilty that I'm just going to turn around and tell them I'm pregnant. But I'm still on probation and the last job I had they didn't renew my contract when I got pregnant. It's so tricky.
Anyone else already looking pregnant but mainly due to bloating and excessive food intake?
So embarrassing.

PipsWife · 18/06/2013 20:31

Can I join you all?

I am 5+3. BFP last thurs. DD (2) TTC for 1 year x1 ectopic(sep12) x2 MC (jun12 and mar13).

Due 16 Feb.

I am still in shock but feeling positive.

I have read the first few pages so going to make a decaf coffee and sit down to read it all.

Congrats to everyone.

moominlike · 18/06/2013 20:31

littlestgirlguide I would be furious too, that's completely out of order!! It's your news and therefore your choice who to tell and when. That's outrageous.

feekerry · 18/06/2013 20:34

finding out at 12 weeks scan must be awful. i think a missed mc must be horrific.
i am having a mild panic as i had really bad pains the other night life period pains and since then have felt okay... no tiredness or sicky feeling.... but no bleeding or anything
half tempted to ask for blood tests but as most know symptoms don't really take hold till 7ish weeks.....
hmmm not sure.

moominlike · 18/06/2013 20:38

Congratulations boredoftrying and pipswife :)

It is difficult, I'll be starting a new job just as I hit 12 weeks (hopefully) and also feel really guilty, but you can't predict when things will happen...I don't know if being on probation affects your rights but I wouldn't have thought so?

Bearfrills · 18/06/2013 20:42

It is horrific. I don't want to talk about it too much because I don't want to upset anyone. We lost a baby at 15wks and I was completely broken :(

BUT (and it's a big but)

but

Missed miscarriage isn't all that usual. Really, it isn't. You get lots of missed miscarriages somewhere like these forums purely because you have large groups of pregnant women concentrated into one place and the law of averages says you'll have several people with the same experiences.

Missed miscarriage only accounts for 1-3% of all miscarriages. That's such a small percentage in comparison.

I wish there was something I could say to make everyone not be afraid or worried. All I can say is, like many of you, I've been that lady getting the awful news. And like many of you I'm worried and tense and hate that waiting feeling of knicker checking and thinking over and over about what could go wrong.

My only advice is to take it one day at a time. You were pregnant yesterday. You are pregnant today. You hope to be pregnant tomorrow. Baby steps and before you know it we'll be in the second trimester and can concentrate instead on getting really, really round :o

Sprite21 · 18/06/2013 20:45

Welcome pips wife and a massive congratulations after going through all that, wow.
Thanks bear frills I needed that kind of reassurance. You're right, we can't change anything and in some ways constant checking would only make it worse.
I am still really looking forward to the 12 week scan though. You can see their whole body. Most amazing experience of my life and I burst into tears (okay maybe 2nd most after actual birth but it really brought it home to me)

boredoftrying · 18/06/2013 20:48

Tiny PD - Ecstatic is probably a good way of describing it! Still in shock and not quite believing it, it's been a long hard slog to get here so I'm just hoping all is well. Currently SS like mad but I didn't have many symptoms with my DS so not expecting much this time around. x

Trinpy · 18/06/2013 21:11

hello to bored and pipswife.

Sorry if this is tmi, but have any of the other knicker-checkers on here noticed any brown blood? Have some atm mixed in with cm. normal? 12 week scan can not come quick enough.

vix206 · 18/06/2013 21:18

Trinpy how far along are you? I had this at 4 weeks, was classic implantation bleeding.

OP posts:
Bearfrills · 18/06/2013 21:19

Brown blood is usually old blood Trinpy, could be from a bump to your cervix, a little blood coming loose or old bleeding from implantation. Why don't you see your GP? Explain that you're worried and ask to be referred to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit, insist if you have to. They'll be able to check you out and at the very least you'd have reassurance :)

feekerry · 18/06/2013 21:23

you could ask for an early scan depending on how far gone you are and how concerned you are
i had some light brown discharge with dc1 at around 7 weeks. i was already in hospital for another pregnancy related issue, i told the consultant about the discharge and he said it wasn't even an issue as totally normal.
i know it can be worrying as any type of.bleeding in pregnancy is but there can be alot of causes.
i think black knickers are a good idea!!

Trinpy · 18/06/2013 23:08

heavy bleeding now Sad

Namechangingnorma · 18/06/2013 23:12

oh Trinpy, really sorry to hear that, try and get as much rest as possible, and take really good care of yourself. it doesn't soung good but I do knw f ne person who bled pretty heavily and then the scan a week later was fine. Thinking of you xx

Trinpy · 18/06/2013 23:30

thank you. I'm treating it as a mc because it's easier that way.

sunflowered · 18/06/2013 23:34

Thinking of you tonight trinpy - I hope you're able to find out what's going on tomorrow and that you've got people around you to look after you

rueyrichardson · 19/06/2013 07:30

Trinpy · 19/06/2013 10:40

Just got back from doctors. Probably too early to see anything on a scan but she's going to call the hospital to see if they will try. Otherwise I will be having blood tests over 2 days to see if the hcg levels are falling. She thinks from the sounds of it though that I have lost the pregnancy.

Called the fertility clinic to see whether I could still have the appointment I cancelled next week, but they have already given it to someone else Sad. And they shredded my referral because they thought I wouldn't need them anymore since I was pregnant, so I now have to go through my gp again. Earliest appointment they can give me at the clinic is in 2 months time. So its the waiting game again. Its so fucking unfair, I really don't know how much more of this I can deal with.

I called in sick to work today and DH is staying home with me. Tomorrow's my day off anyway so I'm not in again until Friday.
