One last thread from me, Sparks hope you're ready, you're sneezing on this one :):):)

Trix could you go swimming? I have been thinking about going if my sports centre has ladies only sessions which I think they do.

boo ok I get it Wink I might take things around to my mum she is very good at this sort of thing. Great idea. How are those new born snuggles going down? you lucky thing am so jealous

cartoontrickster · 05/06/2013 13:09

I will look into swimming, its probably safer than pounding away at the gym.
sweetie ull have two to snuggleEnvy I so hope they're one of each! how are you feeling now about it all? is it still a bit surreal that there's two in there?

SweetieTime · 05/06/2013 13:41

yes my book recommends swimming. I think keep does a lot of swimming so she may be along to tell you how great it is

I still cannot believe it is happening to be honest. We have our next scan a week on Monday so may have to believe it then if there are 2 still in there then. We are both really excited about it though. DH did ask how I will go to loo when they come along. I said I would have to take them with me. Glad he is thinking of the important things Grin Grin

Yes, I swim lots, it's great. The best thing for stopping me feel queasy. I'd do an aquaerobics class if I could but nothing like that here, so I just do lengths and a light work out. But I am vvv lucky in that we have a pool at our apartment so it's v easy to go most every day. We also have a running machine, and I'm doing a fast 25 min walk each day. I've ordered a DVD too which should arrive tomorrow, as I want to step it up a gear, but safely, now in the second trimester. It is american though...

sweetie I think you'll just have to wait for dh to get home to go to the loo - you won't have time... You should get double ML for twins!

BTW sweetie do you think you'll find out the sexes?

cartoontrickster · 05/06/2013 16:55

haha sweetie I love that! I actually asked my mum what the heck you do with the baby if you need the loo or want a shower while dh is at work.
keep that's impressive! I'd love a pool at home. I hate the gym really but its necessary I tend to gain weight very easily. I am by no means over weight but you may have noticed I'm very concious of it.
at the moment I walk to work every day which is about 35min and I still eat a lot of ww and low fat food. which I guess is how I've managed to not gain weight. I just need to be popped I'm pumped up like a balloon! I've not been to the gym for just over a week because I assume it will make me feel worse, might it actually make my nausea better?

RubberBullets · 05/06/2013 18:01

A baby bouncer is very handy to put them in for loo trips. Although for twins it may be easier to just have adult nappies :o

cartoontrickster · 05/06/2013 18:17

argh gross rubber Grin .

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 05/06/2013 18:33

I use the baby bouncer, car seat if we have been out and I come home desperate for a pee, in emergencies she is put on a towel on the floor while I 'go' it's all do able Grin

But yes, adult nappies would also be useful sometimes Grin

SweetieTime · 05/06/2013 19:33

I am not worried about the loo situation but I bet there will be times when I wish I had more than one pair of hands. I intend to get a playpen/travel cot for downstairs so will put them in there and they will have to carry on

Trix what was your Mums reply when you asked her?

I called at Matalan and bought 2 jersey tube skirts with no waistband so I think they should see me through for a while. They were only £10 each so quite a bargain.

cartoontrickster · 05/06/2013 19:46

she said take the baby with you!. my Downstairs loo is right opposite the lounge door so I guess if I leave the doors open and position baby so I can see it while I go that would be ok? I know nothing about babies! I've not met manyGrin

RubberBullets · 05/06/2013 19:58

Unless you plan on taking a book in with you, a baby will be fine waiting for you to go to the toilet. If they cry the whole time then it doesn't matter, it's only a couple of minutes and you can pick them up straight away afterwards.

We didn't get a moses basket for dd, she went in her crib if upstairs and her baby gym or bouncer when downstairs. As long as they are in a safe position then I wouldn't worry too much about it. She spends most of the time smiling, even though she turns into a screaming snot monster when I put her in her cot while I have a shower :)

cartoontrickster · 05/06/2013 20:11

thanks rubber. I'm sure ill have many more dumb questions. obviously its very soon for me to be worrying about these things yet. I read a Fred earlier where the woman ess panicing that she didn't have the faintest idea what to do with the baby once its here and I realized I'm the same!

SweetieTime · 05/06/2013 20:26

I think it is normal to feel like that. I feel exactly the same and I will be getting double trouble.
We have a dog so I wouldn't leave the babies on the floor while I am out of the room. I am sure we will work it out.

RubberBullets · 05/06/2013 20:37

I have a cat who avoids her like the plague :o

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 05/06/2013 20:38

I have a teenager, if we're comparing animals GrinGrin

Grin Grin Grin boo

cartoontrickster · 05/06/2013 20:57

haha Grin boo
I'm quite detached at the moment from the fact that this might turn into an actual baby that I have to look after. ill prob get a huge shock when I begin my mat leave and realize I can't change a nappy.

RubberBullets · 05/06/2013 21:29

Trix make sure you tell dh about the tradition of the dad changing the first nappy. The meconium ones are grim and having gone through labour you won't want to deal with tar like poo.

DreamingOfAFullNightsSleep · 05/06/2013 22:09

SOrry, phpone has stopped loading mn- what's that all about?! Brief laptop session here, but as I am still the proud owner of the Amazing Non-Sleeping Baby it'll be brief. Not been here for ages, but babies on the floor when tiny (and no dogs) is fine, I've not got a playpen or travel cot as my two howl the place down, and as the Amazing Non-Sleeping Baby is also a vomiter that creates a LOT of mess. He comes with me now. Toddles after me, and tried his hardest to peer down the toilet to see what's going on The other comes if I can be bothered to bring him! If not, i's fairly baby proofed, and believe me, the art of a speed wee is one you learn fast with 3 children under 2, I'm a master now!! Oh, and I have to rmember to shut the door if anyone is here, it's second nature to have a semi-public wee if its dh and I at home with our brood now Grin . And don't worry about nappies, that's a;piece of cake you'll have nailed within days... It's the sleeping that's the Ishoo Wink

Oh, last thing I read was knowing which is twin 1 and twin 2- the one nearest the exit/cervix will be labelled T1 on all your scans. It is always the same baby, orr they can't measure their growth. my t1 was also born first at my (very lovely) ELCS, and is now dt1 aka the Amazing Non-Sleeping Baby. If anyone is good at sewing, while you're at adjusting things, me and my fellow multiple mummies all reckon you need handles/ loops on the back of babygrows Grin . You WILL be dragging a baby with poor head control onto feeding pillows, up the feeding pillow into a better position, into cushions, onto the floor from somewhere unsafe while holding the other. They will probably be crying. You will need a good hold, and they don't get this lovely supported cuddles business as much as they should. Fact Grin . But you'll get Madonna ars from lugging two about!!

ANywya, said DT1 is up. As usual, so best dash before he wakes DD and dt2...

I'd not finished my rambling either

As you were with the glowing and baby growing ladies Smile

thanks everyone.

Trix I know you are not on FB anymore but there is a great picture doing the rounds of a <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/p480x480/600609_10151639419294907_1333773833_n.jpg&imgrefurl=www.facebook.com/heatworld&h=480&w=483&sz=38&tbnid=1nXMU9CGMQj6qM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=91&zoom=1&usg=__oVIVN_cN5TdohmdhEp0kNHkUrC0=&docid=BLKfwY2BAnkViM&sa=X&ei=4EGwUaSPFMTG0QW-z4CYBw&ved=0CDUQ9QEwAQ&dur=637" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">puppy with a 'tash and I know how much you luffs a cute puppy picture

Dream you will have to let me know more details of those babygro handles I need to get sewn on all baby clothes. I can imagine they will work a treat. I saw on FB you mentioned using a sling, this is something I think I will have to embrace. Can you let me know more details of what type you use etc. I am just thinking it might be easier to use a sling then my hands are free. I might be being a bit hopeful of course.

Sparks any twinges? How are you feeling today? How many naps do you have planned I love love love a nap

Bullets I will also be telling DH that it is tradition that he does first nappies. I am sure he will love that won't he.

Off to give my blood for my NT screening this morning as they need a week to process it so I can have the full results on the day of the scan rather than the anxious wait.

keepitgoing · 06/06/2013 11:41

Ooh that's a better way round to do it sweetie.

Just woke up from my daily nap, going for a swim. But I'm not working, face, that's how I manage it...

keepitgoing · 06/06/2013 11:49

And the only a good thing about dh being a doctor is he doesn't mind bad smells AT ALL. So I may dodge nappy duty a lot, I hope. At least those nasty first ones :)
