Take it easy and rest when you can legally

claphammama. I think he specifically meant the particular pic that only had baby's private area. Not like we were planning to put scan pics up on Facebook. My brother and wife have been trying for 12 years and don't want to be insensitive by revealing publicly more than we need to.

Slippysnow · 20/05/2013 17:23

Congratulations everybody!! Lovely news

legallyblond · 20/05/2013 17:24

Congrats pseudo!

Warlin... Yup, that's the feeling exactly! Its like I felt at 39/40 weeks with DD!! Quite why it should be so bad on the loo, I don't know! I got the "bulge" at 16 weeks Shock!

Rachel.. Sorry you've been struck too. My gp was also fairly blase about it.. I was mildly panicking as I thought "lump, oh no!" but suspected something along the veins lines as it disappeared when sitting and expanded again when standing.. Gp just said "oh yes, varicose vein, to be expected really"!

PseudoBadger · 20/05/2013 17:26

One of each Claphammama, that's right. Dp's mum will be jealous, that what she wanted and ended up with 3 boys :o

And I have an anterior placenta which explains the limited movement/kicks

Haylebop12 · 20/05/2013 17:32

My dh is one of four boys. His older brother also has four boys. Dd is the only girl on that side so mil wants another boy so she's still her only girl.

I too am struggling more with this pg. I was working double the hours last time and don't remember all these aches and pains!

pinkbuttons · 20/05/2013 17:46

Congratulations to funkky and pseudo lovely to hear all ok and your news about boy and girl.
Have to say am surprised at all of these cheeky babies being awkward but lovely to get extra scans Smile

sorry to hear about people suffering down below.
Ive also started leaking colostrum, not too bad yet but has made damp path on pyjama top a couple of nights in the last week.

cherrycherry41 · 20/05/2013 17:56

Congratulations cherry

JellyCurls · 20/05/2013 19:21

Great news on scans everybody lots of boys being born in October this year I think.

MoN are you ok after your fainting and your leak?

legally I had bulging veins on my lady bits in last pregnancy and wasn't pleasant but they disappeared very quickly, keeping fingers and toes crossed I don't get them this time.

I am pooped, when are we supposed to be blooming?

Natalieand · 20/05/2013 19:25

I have been asking myself that for the last 19 weeks technically 15 weeks cos of already 4 weeks when period is due jelly I am literally beyond shattered beyond n e thing lol

Haylebop12 · 20/05/2013 19:30

Well today it's 2-1 to the boys!

OrangeBlossom2 · 20/05/2013 19:31

Welcome Ellie and Congratulations scanners!

Wow lots of naughty babies not cooperating with the scans on this thread. That's quite a few going back for another look now.

Please take time to eat ladies! So many people are fainting! Gives me more of an excuse to snack regularly. I have been really hungry this week and put on 3lb in 6 days Confused oops! A girl bought in sweets for her birthday today and I munched the leftovers after school mmm.

Are you still leaking MoN or has it stopped? Definitely call someone for a second opinion if you are worrying, maybe mention that you fainted too. I can add to the list of people who have had a lot more discharge recently though. (The things we share!)

Natalieand · 20/05/2013 19:49

3-1 to boys as I'm having a boy anyone else care to add to it?

Slippysnow · 20/05/2013 20:16

Hi all, just got back from the mothercare event. It was a good idea overall- I didn't really utilise the midwives and first aid people that was hand. They had 10% off, but couldn't buy clothes really- just bought white body suits.

But the exciting part was I got a goody bag (well 2 ) and inside it had a pack of 2 newborn hats (rrp £4) and a few breast pads, miniature baby and me bubble bath, breast milk storage bags.
And for some reason they put 2 packs of hats in 1 bag so I am the proud owner of £12 worth of hats for free....... Simple things- sad life really

funkky · 20/05/2013 21:08

Re bloom: apparently @21 weeks - Some women bloom. They really do. They go from feeling like they're dying, spotty, emotionally exhausted wrecks, to being shiny, energetic, bouncy pregnant women. The increase in your blood flow should make your face rosy and pregnancy hormones will now plump up your skin so you look five years younger. Your hair will be fuller and shiny and you will ooze health and wholesomeness. Your nails and hair both grow faster in pregnancy. You will feel vigorous and alive. Am 21 + 5 today and still waiting Hmm

BreeWannabe · 20/05/2013 21:27

I'm a little jealous of those finding out the sex at the scan :) NHS in our area won't tell :( Anyone else in the same position? We were of course totally delighted at our scan on Friday to find out everything is going well and he/she is healthy... But I would sort of like to know... :)

MotherOfNations · 20/05/2013 21:57

I'm feeling fine now Jelly and Orange and had no more leaks. Dp ordered us a takeaway so I didn't need to cook and bought me a massive slab of chocolate to keep my blood sugar up.
Has anyone else been feeling irrationally emotional about stupid things? My pram arrived today and I decided almost instantly I hated it that it was too heavy and too difficult to put together etc and it was all dps fault for not being willing to pay a few hundred more for the one I actually wanted. I was fighting back tears.
I went upstairs 30 mins ago to have another look at it and have now decided that I love it.

Shirehobbit · 20/05/2013 22:15

Tell me about it, MoN - there was an incident over the purchase of some cheese on Saturday that is too embarrassing to go into, but let's just say I lost all sense of perspective and leave it at that Blush

I also didn't go to aquanatal tonight, not through chickening out, but because I hadn't factored in fat bump fitting into my regular swimming costume. Epic fail!

Haylebop12 · 20/05/2013 22:17

bree would a private scan be an option? The gender one with babybond is £79 and you get a 4d sneak peak too and loadsa pics.

funk I don't think I'm blooming but in definitely feeling better and have done for a few weeks. My skin is improving but now I'm fat haha!

MoN glad your feeling better, and you like your pram Grin I had the same reaction when dd's pram arrived. Totally normal!

I do find however I'm getting emotional at random stuff, not the stuff you'd think. We watched les miserables last night, not a tear. Dh doesn't wash the pots one day and I have a complete breakdown! Hmm

Smitten1981 · 20/05/2013 22:51

MoN - yes to irrational behaviour. I wanted to bite off everyone's heads at work today and was seething all day. Then I got upset at the end of the day because I couldn't find a boy name that I liked. I know full well I'm being totally irrational.

Claphammama · 20/05/2013 23:04

Congrats cherry!

Glad you had no more leaks MoN! Take away sounds lovely... what did you have? And yes, emotional and irrational here too. A meltdown and some tears yesterday in the middle of the shop as we went for my long awaited first baby shopping yesterday. Reason - DP didn't seem as interested, excited and involved as he should have been (in my most subjective view). So it wasn't the best day and the evening was a bit of a write off.

funkky I remember the glowing from my first pregnancy... it's not a legend, it happens...From about 10-12 weeks I looked amazing, felt amazing, slept better than at any other time in my life and loved being pregnant while all my pregnant friends moaned. (i must have been really annoying!) It seems, however, that I packed all my glowing into my first pregnancy as there is no sign of it this time... I think I actually look better but I feel so exhausted and my legs kill me so much that I couldn't give a monkey... perhaps I'm just getting old!!
