Chicken with ginger and spring onions served with noodles. I would normally have ordered fried rice but my Bil got food poisoning a couple of weeks back from takeaway fried rice so it has made me nervous.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one having meltdowns over mundane things.
I'm off to bed now as I have to make sure I'm up in time for breakfast tomorrow so as to avoid another fainting attack.

Claphammama · 20/05/2013 23:15

sweet dreams! make sure you have some proper breakfast!

GTbaby · 21/05/2013 02:24

I also am very sore down below. Feel swollen. N am now thinking it might be the vein thing. But with this stupid SPD I can't really see. N can't get myself into position where I could use a Mirror Hmm n don't want DH to look Incase it looks as bad as it feels Confused

Warlin · 21/05/2013 08:26

cherry congrats on your boy! Lets hope our stats arent reflective of the rest of society or our boys are not going to have many girls chasing them :)

clap sorry but I have no ideas how to fake motivation. I just had to set my objectives for the next "year" and was secretly thinking go on holiday, have baby, enjoy mat leave.....but had to commit to all these targets that I really don't care about :(

Sounds like we are all suffering a bit with our pregnancies. I'm shattered too and emotional. DH away with work with a few days and I feel bad as he normally does the nursery drop off as I start work early but this morning ds was the first one to arrive at nursery and he screamed and cried when I left him. :( Had a wee cry myself on the way to work :(

Did everyone get their M11 ? form at their 20 week scan (the one needed for work). I forgot to get it and they didn't give it to me. I should prob phone the hospital as work will be looking for it and I was thinking of taking a copy of it on holiday as proof of my DD (paranoid the airline will say I look more than 28 weeks and not allow me to fly without a dr letter)

HotSoupDumpling · 21/05/2013 08:29

Slippy, I love bargains, and freebies are the best! Even when I have no conceivable use for them!

GT, Could you see a doctor? Sounds bad.

Whine whine rant rant: my lower back is SO PAINFUL. Sleeping on my side just seems to make it worse. I am hobbling around like my grandad.
Also, the Rage has engulfed me several times. I wish I were blooming...

Natalieand · 21/05/2013 08:52

A friend if mine is due one week after me so she's due 21/10 and I was like are u not absolutely shattered? She was like no never have been I said no back pain etc? No she replies again! So some ppl must bloom just none of us lot apparently lol I'm with u on the pack pain soup I'm looking into getting a cantaloop support band for my tummy especially as I'm a size 24 per pregnancy I already have a lot of tummy weight so hoping it will take some of that weight off my back and give me a nice shaped bump lol they r only about £14 on amazon and seem to have quite a few good reviews so may be worth looking into x

cherrycherry41 · 21/05/2013 08:59

Natalieand im having a very easy pregnancy this time, if i hadnt missed 5 periods i probably wouldnt know i was pregnant!! Makes up for how awful i felt with DD i suppose!

roxvox · 21/05/2013 09:25

hotsoupdumpling mine is the same. I will have some nights when I sleep really well and wake up without it, but many nights (last night included) I wake up feeling like someone has tried to bend me in half backwards. I think I have quite a curved spine as it is (my lower back sticks inward) and this pregnancy is putting pressure on that! I am forcing myself to sleep on my side, but when my back is aching the only position I am comfortable in is flat on my back, but I know that isn't good. I often wake up on my back though (even though I have one of those pregnancy pillows that is supposed to stop you from doing that).

Fortunately no varicose vein problems in my groin area here, but I did have to have one removed from my left leg last July and I am still recovering from the surgery! The vein on my right leg is certainly starting to look more bulbous and I hope it doesn't go the way of my left leg.

Warlin my DH is away for most of this week too, and I hate it even without any children to look after, so I feel for you! As for the MatB11 or whatever it is called, my midwife told me that I wouldn't get it at the scan and that she would give it to me at our 22 week appointment instead.

Congrats on all of the good scans yesterday! I can't believe how many boys their are! I am starting to think that we must be having a girl, just to even things out (we aren't finding out). Anyone scanning today?

I hope you have a better day today MoN

SeriousStuff · 21/05/2013 09:26

Congrats Cherry!!!

Anyone else getting fed-up of waiting for the 20wk scan? I'm 19+3 and because I'm in the middle of moving hospitals, I don't even have a date for mine.

Apart from an ever expanding midriff and rib cage I wouldn't know I was pregnant anymore. I feel a bit too great - to the point it's making me worry that stuff has stopped developing!

cherrycherry41 · 21/05/2013 09:30

Btw, thank you for all the congrats ladies! Grin

Smitten1981 · 21/05/2013 09:45

Serious - I'm in the middle of moving hospitals too, but luckily I had a scan booked at my original hospital for 5 June and my midwife told me not to cancel anything, so hopefully I won't get in to the new one for a while and can stick to the 5 June for my 20 week scan.

Isn't there a cut off point for it? I thought it was 20+6? Maybe you should call your midwife?

MotherOfNations · 21/05/2013 09:48

I'm feeling fine today roxvox. Dp is looking after my youngest so I can go into town and meet a friend for lunch. It's not the same when there's no wine involved though.

Claphammama · 21/05/2013 10:10

18 weeks today and also fed up with waiting for my scan! Reading all your news - I want it NOW NOW NOW! have to wait until 4th June though.

warlin don't worry about your DS. I had terrible guilt about leaving DS in the nursery at 8am until 6pm. such a long day for a little baby... he would often cry and then I would cry too on my way to work but they told me he was absolutely fine and happy the moment the door closed behind me. They are clever little monkeys.

a rant... I got so upset this morning. I never really wear my Baby on Board badge on the tube but I wore it this morning as I was tired and achy and couldn't face standing for 35-40min. As I got on, two women sitting next to me looked up and looked straight at my badge... but none of them got up! I had to wait for another guy to get to his station to get a seat. Ironically, the train driver said at some point "please remember that there are allocated seats for elderly, invalids and pregnant women. make sure you respect it". Irony of life! Still no one looked up and got up. no one. I felt so angry and upset. I could have asked someone to give me a seat but was too proud and not the point. Do people have any culture left these days? I got so upset about it that I decided not to wear my badge anymore. I know it's silly as there are lots of very kind people who get up and sometimes people just don't notice, buried in their paper or iPad. but it really upset me how openly they both looked at my badge and ignored it. sorry for the rant!!

cazboldy · 21/05/2013 10:19

I'm scanning today at 3pm Smile

really don't know whether to find out or not..... I would like a surprise (although I am fairly sure it's a boy.....) dh says he doesn't mind - which is so helpful Hmm, but my littlest 2 dc have been begging me to find out - they are so excited bless them, and Molly, my youngest is so full of questions.

I don't mind them knowing, just not sure I want everyone in real life knowing too, and not sure they could keep a secret!

Don't know what to do!

So sorry some of you ladies are having such a rubbish time.

I'm having a good pg so far (touch wood!!!) other than feeling very tired i have been fine really.....

HotSoupDumpling · 21/05/2013 10:27

clapham - I get your rant. Only one person has ever changed their behaviour due to the badge (an elderly lady who let me have a spare seat before her - so sweet of her as I felt like I was about to vom). The badge would need to be about 3 feet across with flashing lights to catch the attention of all the commuters I travel with, who are mostly stuck in a heads-down eyes-glued-to-iphone/Metro bubble. And those people who do see just don't stand up - out of awkwardness or arsiness or on principle, who knows. I know I could shuffle over to the special reserved seats and ask nicely, but it is hugely embarrassing when my bump is comparatively small.

Same with me roxvoc - I wake up a few times during the night and find myself sleeping on my back because it's hugely more comfortable. Then I feel guilty.

Good luck caz!

roxvox · 21/05/2013 10:30

cazboldy I really wanted to find out, but decided not to and haven't regretted it yet (it has only been 1 week since my scan). It's quite exciting not knowing, and having people speculate. However I don't have any DC's asking to know, and I also didn't have any idea in my head as to what I am having (still don't) so I imagine that makes it much harder!

claphammama that's terrible. Some people are so obnoxious and inconsiderate.

Glad you're feeling better today MoN. Have a lovely day!

I asked on here a while ago about maternity jeans for tall women, and have since tried various companies out. I bought some Next 'tall' ones which were ok, but still too short for me to feel comfortable in them (I am 6' by the way, so they would probably be ok for anyone who is 5'10" ish). I have since bought some from New Look as I realised that they do a couple of pairs with a 36" leg, and they are spot on! In fact, if anything they are a little bit too long. So pleased to be wearing jeans that I don't feel as though I have shrunk in the wash or something. Also, their 36" leg black jeans are only £8 at the minute, and are really nice. Would definitely recommend to any other tall mothers-to-be out there!

Smitten1981 · 21/05/2013 10:39

Clapham This is one of the reasons I moved out of London, I got so wound up by angry, rude people who push you out of the way and try and walk into you so you move. I hated it so much. I also get really claustrophobic and the tube was always a nightmare for me, especially if it stopped in a tunnel, urgh. I dread going into London now.

You should have asked as someone should have felt bad about their behaviour and moved. Although I'd be scared of looking like a wally as they probably would have just stared at you like you were nuts.

Courtesy has sadly been lost in this country, although I've started speaking up now if someone pisses me off in public, I've had enough!

Warlin · 21/05/2013 10:43

oh caz good luck today. I think you should find out but I'm just being selfish as I want to know!!

clap that's so rude. Some people can be so lovely and others so rude but I know what it's like when you're tired and a little kindness goes a long way. I was raging the other day as two guys stood and watched me lug my pram up a flight a stairs.....dh would never do that without offering to help!
DS does enjoy nursery but I don't normally do the drop offs and he doesnt cry when dh leaves him. I get the nice happy pick up shift!

rox I don't have another midwife apt until 28 weeks so I think thats why at 16 weeks she told me to get it at my 20 week. Might just wait until work asks for it but I would say they will want it before 28 weeks.

Jealous of your girlie lunch MoN. Enjoy.

Flyer747 · 21/05/2013 11:13

Claphammama it really pisses me off when I see men sitting on the tube and they won't give up their seat for a lady, let alone a pregnant lady, that would just tip me over the edge.

I commute from Liverpool to Heathrow for work, and have to go on the tube from euston to heathrow, I'm always in my uniform with heels on dragging my case up flights of stairs and no one (man) ever offers to help. It really annoys me and I cannot believe these people won't offer you a seat, it's just common sense and basic manners to me!

Claphammama · 21/05/2013 11:18

warlin I suppose different hospitals have different process but when I was pregnant with DS (although it was 5 years ago) they told me to go to my GP with my 20 weeks scan notes to get M11. My GP filled out the form and it was done! Why don't you try to call your GP? Perhaps it's the same for you.

smitten I'm beginning to dream about moving out of London... getting a bit tired of it to. DP is from Cheltenham and I love it there but he keeps telling me I would get bored of it after London. I doubt it though! I think I'm done with London although I love the area where we live - feels very much like a village. Anyway, at the moment our work keeps us here but things may change in the future. I would love to have a bigger garden and grow my own vegetables... is it too middle aged? :-)

Claphammama · 21/05/2013 11:27

PS. caz +1 to warlin's selfishness - I also really want to know :-)

Smitten1981 · 21/05/2013 11:37

Clapham Nooo, not middle aged at all. I live near Hitchin, which everyone moves out from London to. It has the same kind of coffee shop culture and little bakeries and boutiques, and it's only 20 minutes to King's Cross on the train. It's pretty and has some lovely big houses with huge gardens.

I love just being able to get in the car and go places instead of sitting in traffic for an hour to get half a mile down the road or relying on public transport full of angry commuters. It's much less stressful.

roofio87 · 21/05/2013 11:41

Re: public transport, if london tubes annoy you never go to Japan. on the subway in Tokyo a man would never give up his seat for you, in fact you're expecte to get up for them because they are more important!! (me and my sister fought this on many occasions!! ; ) )

re: finding out the sex, i'm so glad we did. I was leaning towards it being a girl but now I can't imagine us having anything other than a boy. I keep looking at dp and thinking 'yay my two boys!!' i can't wait!!

I went to aquanatal this morning, i loved it. I'd honestly really recommend it. Feel like it did me a lot fo good and the mw running it was so good at explaining why we were doing various excercises and how they would benefit us in labour/during the birth. Also nice to meet and chat to some other pg ladies. my back's been so sore but the excercises in water were so easy and will have definitley done me some good!!

Claphammama · 21/05/2013 11:48

smitten you are tempting me... I used to live outside Kingston in Surrey for a few years and miss it... Right now I can just about plant a few herbs in our London garden!

SeriousStuff · 21/05/2013 12:50

Clapham the tube situation would drive me crazy! I lived in London for 5 years and I'm so grateful that I moved before I became pg. A friend of mine was heavily pregnant and on crutches and people still wouldn't get up for her! I have much respect for you coping so well. I would have had a tantrum there and then.

Smitten yikes! Maybe I should ask...I have my booking in meeting (again!) with the new MW on 29th when I'll be 20+4 so hopefully she'll be able to shoe horn me in quickly! I still have my appointment at the old hospital booked in, but it's about 100miles away and my DH won't be able to take all day off to travel and I (and he) really want him there.

caz I really want to know by now, but I gave the decision to my DH, who at first agreed to find out, but he then told his mum and she has persuaded him not to! It's not impatience anymore, I just want to know what's inside me and develop a connection! I don't think that's unreasonable is it?!
