HotSoupDumpling · 19/05/2013 15:18

Welcome fmshields.

Falcon, glad they found your notes.

TheFalconsmistress · 19/05/2013 15:29

Welcome all newcomers

Still no iron has touched my vains Sad the did not have the right amount waitting on pharmacy.... going be in forever!

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/05/2013 15:52

They seem really disorganised falcon. How long do they think you will be in?

TheFalconsmistress · 19/05/2013 15:59

They just got the iron orange so about 6 hours from now! It goes on your weight and I have put 8.8lbs on since booking in so they needed more its just a long day!

FeministInTraining · 19/05/2013 17:30

Afternoon ladies, welcome to newbies. Defo a baby boom year! Grin

Orange the leadership at your school sound so unprofessional, the fact you are receiving emails about your performance on a Sunday is enough imo to count at harassment. I second what bree said, not the norm at all from my experience and teacher friends- but unfortunately you're not the first (or second) person I've come across that's had this sort of nonsense thrown at them. People's performance doesn't plummet overnight, or in a single term. And any employer that feels it has should be able to back that up with facts and put support in place. Pushing people out is vile. I would go to the union even if its just for some legal advice that's specific to the teaching profession.

In other news, bump is feelig heavy at the bottom and wriggling baby is sometimes uncomfortable- feels like he/she likes to poke their bottom out of my stomach and fall asleep on my bladder. I still smile when I feel it though, just worried about how uncomfortable I will be by oct Hmm

Can't remember who said 18 weeks is a good milestone but I agree, my notes say labour ward if probs after this point (scary but a milestone nonetheless)
Falcon, hope you're out in time for a nice Sunday dinner with a new lease of life, must be annoying to keep being put off.

Ooh and thanks for the feedback on Raphael, am most excited!!

FeministInTraining · 19/05/2013 17:31

Sorry falcon just saw you will be there till 10. Boo! Do you get food while you're hooked up??

TheFalconsmistress · 19/05/2013 17:33

Still no iron in my vains yet going to be midnight before home hope they feed me!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/05/2013 17:49

Hopefully they feed you falcon otherwise you will have even less iron! Feeling a bit more cheerful now DH is back from stag weekend and spending half an hour in the garden to do some weeding and and cover my potatoes over with soil. I will have a little baby when I eat them. Happy thoughts. My grandparents were happy when I said I was thinking I probably wouldn't go back to that school ever. They don't really like the idea of working mums. I don't plan to take the next 18 years off though!

Bronzemoth · 19/05/2013 18:16

Are you out yet falcon

Sorry to come on here to rant. I'm just so mad with our neighbour upstairs.

I was pottering in the garden (with my gloves on) and I hear a strange bang and then a hissing sound. I go to investigate as its sound like some sort of water leak. I go down the narrow path that runs down the side of the house and at the same point I see a can of something I became overcome my fumes. I had a massive coughing fit and after 30 seconds manage to get back into the more open garden where I crouched down, shaking trying to clear my lungs. Once I have my a breath back I calm down and go upstairs and ask what was in the can. It was spray paint and our neighbour apologised but also acted like it was no big deal and certainly didnt offer to pay for the damage it has clearly caused. I thought it shoulda be okay fume wise as she is pregnant too and their flat recked of it too, also rationalised that normal deodorant sprays are fine, but after investigating it turns out to pretty nasty stuff and definitely one to avoid during pregnancy. I'm trying to be rational and I only had a couple of breaths of it but it was pretty concentrated as the entire can had burst. I just know that saying anything more to her could go down badly and my other half is away today. So sorry you ladies are my outlet for my anger and upset.

MotherOfNations · 19/05/2013 19:50

Sorry to hear your having such a stressful time Orange .
Did they get you something to eat falcon? Even nasty hospital food is something when your iron levels are low.
I spent the day at a local festival with my girls. Ds decided that staying home playing on the Xbox was preferable to traipsing around a muddy park and queuing for over priced rides. I think he may have had a point. My back and hips really ache now and because I've only eaten chips and sweets all day I'm really craving some fruit or some healthy soup but I was too sore and tired to stop off at the shops on the way home.

TheFalconsmistress · 19/05/2013 20:20

Had loads to eat now tuna sandwich, fish and chips, and toast plus tons of tea lol but im still in will get out in about 2 hours, hopefully Smile

ananikifo · 19/05/2013 21:15

Orange, let me join everyone else in saying emails like that, especially on a weekend, are unprofessional and I would consider them bullying. I hope your union can help you and you can put it behind you.

Falcon, I hope you feel much better after all this. You don't have an early morning tomorrow, do you?

What a strange coincidence that people are talking about frankfurters. We had pizza on Friday and I made DH order me the one with hot dogs in the crust.Blush It was delicious but so wrong. I no longer have the excuse of being sick so I've resolved to eat better. Baby needs vitamins and I need fibre, I suppose.

I've also spent the weekend knitting a tiny cardigan that covers only back and arms- perfect for skin-to-skin time with a newborn baby. It's so tiny! I was worried I was making it too small, but friends who are mothers have reassured me that babies are actually that small Smile

MrsO27 · 19/05/2013 21:33

bronzemoth I'm sure a couple of breaths will be ok, although not pleasant I would imagine. I think the advice is usually to drink plenty of water. Meanwhile, I would just politely ask her how she intends to clean up the mess!
Hope you get out soon falcon

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/05/2013 21:55

Bronze mouth you could always check with your midwife to get some reassurance but I think I read things like that are only a problem if you have prolonged exposure e.g. If you worked spray painting things all day. How annoying though.

Thanks all for supportive messages. Have kept emails and will see how things go.

Natalieand · 19/05/2013 22:14

I agree with everyone else orange perhaps keep a little written note of any further incidents that could be seen as harassment x

What an inconsiderate neighbour bronze

So we have anyone scanning tommorow? Best of luck to u if u are :-) hopefully find out if we have any boys or girls joining our thread :-)

migraines to those suffering migraines I just wondered if u get any symptoms before the actual migraine attack? The last week or two I've been complaining to dh about tiny sharp shooting pains in my shoulder and hand then the next day they same to go so I did a little googling and apparently limb/shoulder/neck pain/numbness/pins and needles are often symptoms in the hours/24 hour period leading up to a migraine attack and I actually had these arm pains last night and if been sofa bound all afternoon unable to function cos of a migraine but just really wondering if n e one else suffers something similar?

Done a car boot sale today to sell lots of pink stuff from dd as I'm now expecting a boy and made £100 sold so many of her clothes it was heart breaking :-( I wish I could keep everything but I just kept the ones with particularly special memories

PseudoBadger · 19/05/2013 22:32

I'm scanning at 2.30!

roofio87 · 19/05/2013 22:43

yay pseudo I'm scanning tomorrow too, at 1 30!! Grin

PseudoBadger · 19/05/2013 22:52

I'm nervous....

roofio87 · 19/05/2013 22:57

me too!! just keep thinking, this time tomorrow we'll know we have healthy little babies in there!! (I like to be ever the optimist!!)

PseudoBadger · 19/05/2013 23:01

:o

Smitten1981 · 20/05/2013 00:00

Good luck to all the scanners tomorrow!

This is a really small niggle but it's starting to annoy me. Has anyone else noticed that the first thing every single person that isn't a close friend does when they see you is stare to see if you have a bump rather than look at your face?? I'm finding it so irritating. I'd rather them just say something like 'ooh are you getting a bump?' Rather than glare and then say nothing.

Maybe I'm being irrational/hormonal.

TheFalconsmistress · 20/05/2013 00:43

just out now DH does not start work till 12 so i can sleep in yeah! good luck to scanners tomorrow xx

OrangeBlossom2 · 20/05/2013 07:28

Glad they let you out falcon. I wondered if they discharged people at that time of night. Hope you feel much better soon.

Good luck pseudo and roofio. I forget, are you finding out the sex?

Smitten, yes but I notice I do it too! There is a woman at school a couple of months further on than me and I watch her body with interest to see what will happen with me. I walked in in some teaching assistants talking about how much my boobs had grown on Friday afternoon. Now that I definitely thought was inappropriate!

Shirehobbit · 20/05/2013 07:36

Good luck badger and roofio and anyone else scanning today. Just two more days to wait for ours.

I can't really add anymore to what's been said, orangeblossom, but as a teacher myself, I am surprised and saddened that you're being treated that way.

Having a second attempt to get to aquanatal tonight - fingers crossed it's not cancelled again!
