pseudo yes, it is a bit like the schloer one actually! And as for your bump pressure - I am in a bit of pain with mine. It feels like it's trying to expand past the possibilities of my body, plus it feels as though my spine is concaving inwards. I think it's a combination of bloat and me overdoing it today! Always makes me worry even though I am still feeling kicks.

Haylebop12 · 18/05/2013 23:16

psuedo yes that's what mine feels like.

Been out with work tonight at an awards evening. Three course meal has made me feel like I'm going to burst! Was nice to get dressed up though.

Lazy day tomorrow that I'm REALLY looking forward to.

HotSoupDumpling · 19/05/2013 06:20

Why why why am I awake!?! Especially rough after staying up late to watch Eurovision, which we thought had quite a high (well, for Eurovision) standard this year. Plus a falsetto vampire man and Perspex box dancer to boot.

Vomming and lack of appetite has returned. Cannot believe it...

I crave some shloer now. Good tip people!

JellyCurls · 19/05/2013 07:54

char1eston if you have never crotcheted before check out your local charity shop for hooks and your local pound shop for wool. If that fails find a wool shop local to you or even tesco, noticed ours has started selling wool etc. don't pay more than £1.50 for a 200g of double knitting in case you get fed up or it doesn't work out. I love crotchet, so relaxing and can fit in my handbag for crotchet on the run.

Won a pram on eBay last night Grin not a great bargain but will do till baby is big and walking and dc1 is still light enough to travel in it if need be. Got it £140 cheaper than in the shops, now just to hope it arrives (had bad eBay experience before).

Stayed up to watch Eurovision last night wtf was that Romanian song about. We did want them to win though just so we could see it again

PseudoBadger · 19/05/2013 09:20

Yes I need to get some Schloer now too :)
Feel really 'pregnant' today, still pressure in my bump and ovent has definitely become more difficult.

I woke up to two more critical emails from my boss. Replied to the factual inaccuracies such as that my class are standing still when infant they have already exceeded national progress targets and are on track to meet our schools higher expectations by the end of the year as I can't just leave it. Let some things slide as not worth getting into but I feel really wounded by accusations that I am not a team player. This has always been a strength. I asked if there was a particular reason why this was being raised now and copied some people in my team in. My DH said to just let it wash over me but it is hard to have your professional reputation attacked unjustifiably all of a sudden. Each time I am more certain I won't go back after the holidays and will start my maternity leave the day before term starts.

In more positive news, the baby is responding to my adrenaline by rolling around. Been getting more and more sure it is the baby over the last few days. It is so lovely. Hopefully it is protected from stress in there.

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/05/2013 10:09

A mini milestone today, 18 weeks. Midwife said before 18 weeks go to A&E if there is a problem, after that the maternity wing. Fingers crossed no problems of course but nice to reach another little stage. The next big one is anomaly scan but that isn't until 21+2.

Haylebop12 · 19/05/2013 10:12

Is it with calling to check before you make yet another trip falcon?

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/05/2013 10:37

And good luck with it!

TheFalconsmistress · 19/05/2013 10:42

Im only 10 mins from the hospital and i would rather go and moan at them for not having them if they dont lol Blush

Claphammama · 19/05/2013 10:47

good luck falcon!

orange this is terrible. The frequency of this negative feedback is verging on harassment. Are there any trade unions you could speak to? And do you have any good colleagues you trust and can talk to? It's important to have someone close to you to keep telling you it's all rubbish and it's not you.

girls - also bought two bottles of shloer yesterday. Red grape sparkling drink. (new red wine? :-))

also - for those of you with anterior placenta. Forgot to mention - one of the dads I met at the football tournaments yesterday was an obstetrician. I'm sure he is fed up with getting questions from a million of random women (I live in a nappy valley!) but I asked some anyway. He said anterior placentas usually move to more posterior positions as pregnancy progresses. I wondered why i feel so many kicks when they said mine was anterior at 12 weeks scan. So don't lose hope - it can move :-)

unlike last weekend, no one is sick here today - so I am, I am, I am going for my first baby shopping today!! but only after I make and eat one kilo of guacamole - today's craving.

17+5 today

OrangeBlossom2 · 19/05/2013 11:09

Thanks falcon and Clapham. Been looking at my union webpages this morning and will speak to my best friend as she was an employment lawyer before having her baby. Not sure I can be bothered to go down that route though. When my friend got her union involved she was observed every day for an hour or more until she left. I could do without that stress. Between 1 and 7 teachers leave my school every term (including all 5 of my good friends this year) after being harassed and criticised constantly, then they are usually replaced with teachers from the head's old school or cheap newly qualified teachers who don't last long. It seems like it is my turn to be targeted now. I just wish I could just be left to get on with doing a good job and that opinions about whether you are doing a good job weren't so fickle. Argh! Sorry to vent on here, no one at home to moan to today.

Mmm guacamole sounds good. I think I will pick up some avocados today. DH coming home from stag do and sister and family coming back from tidying up their old house this afternoon (no luck on finding a new one yet, first one fell through). The peace and quiet have been nice but looking forward to having company again.

HotSoupDumpling · 19/05/2013 11:34

OrangeBlossom, that is truly an awful to wake up to. Hope you can try to out it in the back of your mind until you really need to deal with it. That sort of thing stresses me out mightily.

It's worth knowing your employment law and union position, not because it's worth them getting involved (in fact, it often isn't in terms of stress and cost - and if the school 'manages you out' cleverly, it's really tricky to do anything about it anyway). However, it will give you confidence to ask the right questions, which can worry the school and make them treat you with a bit more care.

Devote a bit if time to thinking of a plan B if they do manage you out. E.g. If you don't want to return after the holidays, you might consider not burning too many bridges in order to get a decent reference...

HotSoupDumpling · 19/05/2013 11:34

Whoever mentioned frankfurters...om nom nom nom.

BreeWannabe · 19/05/2013 11:55

Orange, that's awful! I'm a teacher too and can tell you that this is absolutely not the norm in schools; if they have genuine concerns about whatever then they should be putting in place supportive strategies and having one to one discussions with you-not emailing you on a Sunday morning!! I agree with the other ladies-definitely speak with your union as they will have dealt with this many times before and will advise you what your rights are in a supportive way. Make sure you have everything documented so that you can evidence everything you're saying. Keep emails they're sending you along with your replies. Invite your line manager in to speak with your kids about what they're doing-in most cases the kids will be your greatest advocates. But most of all, if they're stressing you out make sure you state that clearly ie that its affecting you emotionally-given that you're pregnant that should make them back off. Try to relax and not take it personally as much as possible (I know it's hard). Baby will be fine don't worry. Good luck x

MrsO27 · 19/05/2013 13:07

Awful treatment orange, hope you can get this resolved.
Frankfurters sound amazing! I'm of to the shops later to pick some up, they're good for you, right? My thing this week has been stewed rhubarb, cant get enough of it!

TheFalconsmistress · 19/05/2013 13:32

In hospital. Venflon in notes found 6 hours to go Shock

Fmshields · 19/05/2013 13:41

Hey! I'm due oct 21st with my first. Just seen this thread, hope I can join in! Grin

Soupqueen · 19/05/2013 13:52

Hello fmsheilds, welcome.

orange, that really sucks. They're being a bit foolish, picking you up on things where the evidence shows the contrary.

Mmmmm, guacamole, love the stuff. I've just had a tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad which was delicious and just what I fancied.
