New thread! May it bring lots of good news, funny stories and happy bump mummies!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh, just Googled quickly and it seems that sickness during pregnancy does 'count' but should be recorded separately as it must not be used to influence the outcome of any disciplinary actions, redundancy or dismissal.

Just wanted to share that I've discovered Red Herring at Debenhams maternity stuff- it's really cheap and cheerful and has some lovely basics (I ordered a few long sleeve t's) with lovely cuts.
As I'm quite small, I've been struggling to find tops that for nicely and don't break the bank, these are brill! ordered a couple in the post a few days ago and they came today, yay!

Sorry, tops that fit nicely.

This is useful

fl0b0t · 04/05/2013 14:41

Kammy sounds great! I found a mentally huge mothercare the other day which had some nice gear in! I really need to stop buying thigns for me now! Had to buy dresses for the weddings etc, and didn't really plan to buy much at all!

Just been out for an epic 9 mile walk for fun (husband at a stag do) and now I think I'll go to homebase and buy some "nesting" things to make the house look nice! :)

Creamtea1 · 04/05/2013 15:29

Typed long message re gender scan which has gone!

Creamtea1 · 04/05/2013 15:31

Essentially - have booked private gender scan for weds, no one knows apart from DH and no one will know the result apart from me. Still wont take word for it after all the stories I've read on here!

juniper9 · 04/05/2013 16:44

My scan isn't for 2 and a half weeks still! Feel very behind. I'm 19 weeks tomorrow so my scan it as 21+3, which is hospital policy.

Is anyone else suffering from low blood pressure? I saw a cardiologist consultant the other day (as my heart beat is nearly always over 100, and goes as high as 150!) and he told me to eat more salt. So I'm lying in bed with a bag of pistachio nuts. Such a hard life!

Readytosettle · 04/05/2013 17:18

That's exciting Creamtea, can't remember why u didn't find out at 20 weeks? Was it not possible or have u changed ur mind?

frogchops · 04/05/2013 17:27

Have had no cravings as such up til now but I must say that I've been very 'see it an want it' since the beginning. Even just hearing about stuff makes me feel like I need it! Such as whoever mentioned fruit pastilles in the early days??!!, banana yazoo (was on the tv), cheesecake (after a lengthy soft cheese debate), jacket potatoes (after smelling them in town), cheese tuc biscuits (someone else mentioned those!), mcflurrys, haribo, and now pistachio nuts! Thanks juniper!!

Readytosettle · 04/05/2013 18:06

Ooh, cheese tuc biscuits....would it be too cruel to ask DH to pop out when he's cooking the dinner?

Creamtea1 · 04/05/2013 18:11

Ready I just changed my mind! but I am adament that no one else will be told, not even that we know - so to everyone else outside mumsnet the answer to the standard 'do you know what you're having' remains as 'no' or 'a baby' depending on what mood I'm in Smile

Creamtea1 · 04/05/2013 18:12

Also I would go to great lengths for jam roly poly and custard right now

Dorita75 · 04/05/2013 18:26

creamtea I've just come back from afternoon tea for my friend's birthday - small sandwiches, mini cakes (including mini battenburg!) and gorgeous scones with clotted cream and jam. I feel like a rolypoly but it was lovely.

I'm also a bit like you frogchops if someone mentions something I want it. Someone in work mentioned fishcakes this week and I had to get them for me tea that night!!

Creamtea1 · 04/05/2013 18:52

Oooh dorita now you've done it! Scones with jam and clotted cream...mmm drool...my ultimate favourite thing Smile (hence user name!)

fl0b0t · 04/05/2013 18:59

Mmmm I do want a cream tea most times I see your name creamtea :-)

Husband is out at a stag do tonight, getting a lift home from London about 2am. Bless him he's even set up the spare bed so as not to wake me up :-) I'm pleased he's out as I've made an epic fish pie with butternut squash and cheese topping! And I'm going to watch something really trashy on telly :-)

kipsonline · 04/05/2013 22:07

We are in the peaks this w/e with a lovely group of friends and have spent a day cycling, swimming, playing rounders and sardines with all the kids! I have just woken up in bed with DS2 after getting in to give him a nighttime cuddle over 2 hours ago...argh! The lodge is now silent so I guess the others are down the road in our other lodge drinking wine....leaving me with 5 kids!! Am feeling v un rocknroll contemplating getting into my pjs and taking my magazine back to bed!!

kipsonline · 04/05/2013 22:08

And now I NEED a scone too!!

CheeseStrawCraving · 05/05/2013 00:21

So creamtea, the question is, will we all be kept in suspenders suspense too, or will you let us know??

Kittenkatzen · 05/05/2013 01:01

Ahh fl0b0t enjoy having the house to yourself tonight, I love it every now and again too! Impressed at your fish pie for one - I always end up with an enormous bowl of pasta and some chocolate buttons in that situation Grin

Dorita75 · 05/05/2013 06:49

I love being pregnant for so many reasons, but being able to treat myself with lovely food and nights in with trashy tv, completely guilt free that I should be doing something more worthwhile rate highly on my list!

frogchops · 05/05/2013 07:51

Tuesdays are my night alone and I love them. I always end up with macaroni cheese as DP hates it.

I dreamt last night that I waited at home while DP went to fetch baby from the hosp. (If only it was gona be this easy!) he bought him home and he was huuuge!! He was very cute and blonde! But I put him on our scales and he was 17lb 1!!! That two dreams of massive babies I've had Confused

frogchops · 05/05/2013 08:48

Have just looked at a site that mentioned a baby wishlist for you to link to things you'd like for baby or yourself (I suppose incase you have a baby shower or something) for friends and family to browse if they're thinking of buying a gift. I'd never heard of this before but then searched and found a few threads on forums about how rude and crass people think it is. What does anyone here think? I'd never even thought of it and I duno what I think really!!

jennimoo · 05/05/2013 08:53

DHs family do birthday and Christmas lists so I do that but not sure i would with a baby. Although you can always make the list for yourself and if anyone asks what to get you point them to the list...

I've just told the GPs what they're allowed to get. It's DC2 so hardly need anything!

frogchops · 05/05/2013 09:10

Yes that sounds a better idea. I wouldn't want anyone to feel obliged to buy anything! One set of GPs are buying our pram so I'm very grateful for that. I suspect there'll be some knitting goin on too!!
