Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tasmaniandevilchaser · 16/05/2013 08:35

Congrats frustrated! I know so many people who've had OC, they say it's rare but I knew 7 people who had it around the time DD was born. Good to hear they picked it up and you're all doing well.

BeauticianNotMagician · 16/05/2013 09:42

Frustrated Congratulations. Yay for another boy. I look forward to the birth story, name and weight. Glad that OC got picked up so well and that you seem to be recovering well.

Buttery Ive been experiencing exactly the same. I think its latent labour but its new even to me. Didn't experience it with my first two.

Well due date today. I've just for half an hour from the school. I will spend be going to sort some post out soon. Tidy house and then I'm going to watch a film whilst bouncing on my ball.

40+0

BeauticianNotMagician · 16/05/2013 09:42

That should say walked

DXBMermaid · 16/05/2013 09:58

Congrats Frustrated! Glad for you and your little boy that it was picked up on!

Buttery, that sounds exciting! Hope things will happen for you soon. Beaut, enjoy the bouncing and hopefully not long now!

Haven't had anymore discharge so far, so really don't think it was anything to do with my waters last night.

Baby seems quite active this morning, but that could be because I just ate a massive bowl of strawberries Smile

BeauticianNotMagician · 16/05/2013 10:01

DXB I'm just off to the shops and strawberries are on the list along with meringue nests and squirty cream yummy. I can't stop eating is boredom though not hunger.

Zorra · 16/05/2013 11:13

Congrats Frus and new baby boy!

It's had my 39 week check up, and really really disliked the midwife - that means I've met half of them and not really warmed to any of them :( I think it's mostly because what I want is quite different from the norm here, but I've found them all quite rude. The midwife this morning said "well I can't tell if its breech or normal, nobody can tell that" and I was like... Well, if you can't tell a head from an arse then that's a bit worrying!

Hope it will be fine on the day but its not filling me with confidence.

DXBMermaid · 16/05/2013 11:18

Beaut, I know what you mean!
Although if I eat too much in one go I feel sick and end up with my head down the toilet

Finally finished packing my bag. Now just waiting to put it all in our new car which we can pick up this weekend!

Less then a week to go and not sure what to do with myself. SPD prevents me from getting on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor and I hate cleaning anyway , most of the laundry is done. Still have some cooking to do, but can't get to the shops as DH has the car. Going to dig out some old favourites from our dvd collection and watch those while munching crisps

Bunnychan · 16/05/2013 11:25

Congratulations frust!
I'm exactly 39 weeks today- had an awesome sleep again, got up full of energy again with a list of chores. I have been doing such chores but have had to stop as I've started feeling very strange. I can't explain it but I've had to lie down and I just feel really unwell/bizarre :-s
X

wrigglerchick · 16/05/2013 11:34

Congratulations frustrated! :-)

InNeedofSomeSleep · 16/05/2013 13:26

I think things are moving in the right direction this end, I'm getting back ache and stomach ache and have been to the toilet 4 times this morning. (sorry tmi) went to my friends for coffee this morning and she said your lips are blue you feeling ok. She was there when I was in labour last time while DH was at work. Really hope this is the start now as DD is getting the signs of a cold.

Fingers crossed

Hope everyone else is doing ok today.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 16/05/2013 13:55

Zorra, your mw sounds rubbish, can't tell if it's breech?! My student mw can! I've found community midwives variable but hospital ones much better, if that's any reassurance. How are you doing generally?

babygeek · 16/05/2013 14:21

Congrats frustrated, another May baby has popped out. Hope you are enjoying cuddles.

InNeed, that sounds promising. Let us know how it progresses. Good luck!

I just had a sweep at my MW appt at 40+1. My notes say 1-2cm dilated and a bit effaced. MW said she could feel baby's head so the mild contractions I have been getting every evening seem to have been doing something. Hopefully that means baby arrival is imminent, woohoo! Will try not to get hopes up too much though...

Zorra · 16/05/2013 14:24

I did wonder, and she was really bossy and shouty. Hope it won't be her who comes for the birth! My parents have taken DS after school this afternoon so I can do some housework and try to blow up the birth pool or lie on the sofa and eat a bag of doughnuts

BeauticianNotMagician · 16/05/2013 14:46

Inneed Good luck I hope it progresses well for you.

Zorra that's shocking. This pregnancy even I can tell the difference between the babies head and bum. Sack the midwife Grin

BeauticianNotMagician · 16/05/2013 14:48

Babygeek That sounds fab hopefully you will see something starting soon.

I'm just chilling now. I know deep down nothing works so ill just wait for baby to be ready. I'm going to concentrate more on ways to pass the time.

mwncigirl · 16/05/2013 15:59

Still in the really bored club here. 40+3 and can't stop eating. I can no longer walk properly as baby is so low, but he seems so happy in there. And noticing every twitch, tightening etc. thought it was starting in the night for a couple of hours but I think it was just a poo. Sorry tMI!!
Haven't got the energy to do much, please hurry up little one.
Really excited to hear about the new arrivalsThanks

tasmaniandevilchaser · 16/05/2013 16:05

Well, had my mw appt just now. Baby is head down, cervix effaced but not dilated. Sweep was flipping horrible, i squawked a lot and had to ask her to stop.

Induction booked for Saturday 8am, inpatient, thank god, i don't want to be more then 2 feet from the gas and air!!!They were going to book me in for tomorrow Shock and that would've been pessary and then home again. I'm resigned to being induced again. Don't think my body does a natural birth Sad Waving goodbye to birthing pool and whale music!

TerracottaPie · 16/05/2013 16:39

Congratulations frustrated! Hope you're still getting less itchy. Thank goodness they found out about the OC.

Seem like there's lots of little signs for people that babies are imminent :)

Not me though :o

tas I think we much be mirroring each other. My induction is booked for Saturday at 8am too. Maybe if you send the cow happy birthing vibes as well it will work for you too? Not that the cow has much going on either right now! There is still time for both of us though...don't give up on the whales just yet :o

tasmaniandevilchaser · 16/05/2013 16:43

terracotta let's channel those pg cow vibes!! You're right, there's still time. I have been giving mini tas a stern talking to, but if he's just not listening, hopefully our inductions will be short and sweet! I'm having an inpatient one after some alarming talk of having a pessary and being sent home, we don't have a car so mooing my way to the hospital in full blown labour is not appealing. What about you? Are you staying in?

purrpurr · 16/05/2013 16:49

Hi, sorry to intrude, am 40+11 and booked in to be induced at 6pm tomorrow night. Just wanted to ask Tas and Terracotta a question if that's ok, were you just told to come in at 8am on Saturday morning or did you do anything to try and wrangle a morning induction rather than a nighttime one? Can't get my head around why they want me to go in at night?

TerracottaPie · 16/05/2013 17:39

Think they only do morning and inpatient inductions where I'm booked.

Was never an option with DS either. Just told to appear in the morning on the day of being induced. And with him labour ward was closed for 2 days so they couldn't even start any inductions. Still didn't get to go home as they didn't know if labour ward would suddenly give the green light to start us all off. That was a fun wait Hmm

purr some places do it differently i think and give the pessary at night with a view to it working overnight. Think they then reassess in the morning and give another maybe or ARM?

My hospital give the gel and repeat in 6 hours (or ARM up in labour ward if 4cm at that assessment).

Funny how much these things can differ from place to place.

BeauticianNotMagician · 16/05/2013 18:44

Tas , Terra and Purr sending you all labour vibes in the hope that you all go into labour spontaneously and avoid induction. If not then hope the inductions go well.

I've not had an induction before. Hoping to avoid it. Been bouncing on my birthing ball today but my goodness it makes the pressure when I get up immense. I feel pressure in my lady bits and bottom. Maybe its doing something

Boodstress · 16/05/2013 19:43

Good luck ladies. I keep checking in to see if there are any new bubbas. Heartened to hear of the speedy inductions. Could very well be the push you need to get things started and needn't be a drama.

InNeedofSomeSleep · 16/05/2013 19:52

I'm starting to think my body is playing tricks on me now. I'm still getting pains but they don't seem to be getting regular yet. Been to tesco for hospital bag food, repacked my bag and for a long walk this evening, gonna have a nice bath and an early night hoping that things will have moved on by the morning.

Rhienne · 16/05/2013 19:57

Our son Alexander was born at 16:05 this afternoon. Everyone's doing great.
