Hi Frustrated Ive been getting lots of bh but nothing happening Sad

I have such bad backache when I walk now. Anyone else suffering. The past two weeks Ive been sleeping well as Ive not been walking so no hip pain Ive had to get up about 5 times a night for a wee but manage to go straight back to sleep. However, the bh are bad now and my hip pain is back so last two nights no sleep.

I have to walk the boys to school tomorrow which takes about 20 mins and I'm dreading it.

38+0 eeeeekkkkkk

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/05/2013 11:06

Oh beaut really not long left for you now. Fx your backache goes as soon as you've had baby.
The thought of a 20min walk with backache and hip pain doesn't sound appealing. Sad you have my sympathy.

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/05/2013 12:31

Frustrated Ill probably chicken out and wait for the bus instead its just we will then be a little late. I was hoping to save all my walking for this weekend in the hopes it may cause something to happen.

roastpotatoes · 02/05/2013 16:12

I was just thinking about what I am looking forward to about not being pregnant anymore (apart from having a lovely baby of course!) Top three are: sitting in the sunshine with a glass of wine, going clothes shopping for normal clothes and having a bubble in a jacuzzi. I clearly have fairly unrealistic views of what the next few months are going to be like, but I can dream!

InNeedofSomeSleep · 02/05/2013 16:28

Roast my top 2 things to do after baby are wine in the sunshine and also clothes shopping. Summer is the best time to have babies, you get to enjoy the little summer we have and actually get out and about.

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/05/2013 17:00

Ooh Roast me three to the drinking in the sun ,clothes and shoe shopping. None of my usual shoes fit well due to swollen feet Smile

Artichook · 02/05/2013 17:41

I sat in the sun and drank wine today. It was lovely. And last weekend I went on a spa break and sat in a jacuzzi for about 5 hours! It was a lovely outdoor one and not too hot. Hmmmm. Maybe I'm not being a very 'good' preggers lady.

Has anyone's bump NOT dropped yet? Mine is still quite high. I'm 37+ 3.

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/05/2013 17:49

Arti To be honest Ive been having the odd cider in the sunshine. I only have the one and only 4.5 %.

Bump definitely not dropped in fact today especially it looks the highest it has looked throughout the last few months.

scooby26 · 02/05/2013 18:25

I'm looking forward to summer clothes, drinking smirnoff ice ( cooling summer drink ) and Castillo blue cheese!

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/05/2013 18:32

I'm also looking forward to being able to sleep on my tummy again and bending over to put on my shoes without getting out of breath from the sheer effort Grin

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 02/05/2013 18:51

arti I was 3/5 this morning (35+6) I'd rather it hadn't so early. constant trips to the loo just aren't funny anymore.

beaut you are spot on, I would love to be able to sleep on my belly. I have really missed that.

beaver33 · 02/05/2013 19:17

Mmmm, can't wait for wine in the sun and soft stinky blue cheese....I have a plan to crack open a lovely bottle of red and a packet of brie at the first sign of labour pains. Oooh, and being able to paint my toenails. That'll be grand Grin.

Ha, Sparkly, your post made me proper LOL. Love the (clearly delusional) idea that your DH could beaver away quietly on his laptop while you laboured. As if!

I've already told mine off for thinking he can get out of our road quick enough when the time comes - it's a steep narrow slope on a cul de sac, and his 10-point turns leave something to be desired. Can just imagine me screeching at him to hurry the f* up Hmm.

Seven so many congratulations to you and little Beatrice. She's absolutely gorgeous in the pics, and you look so serene! Enjoy.

Had the midwife this morning and I'm 3/5 engaged and bump properly dropped. Have another appointment in two weeks but she isn't expecting to see me....yikes....apparently also she's quite small (the bub, not the midwife) which is just fine by me.

Finished the nursery today and it looks so beautiful. Putting the curtains up made me blub like a idiot. I think I might be ready....!

I'm looking forward to soft, goats' and blue cheese, a cold glass of champagne and not waking myself up snoring. In the more distant future I'm looking forward to wearing an underwired bra and having a cleavage rather than a monoboob.

I'm going to miss being pregnant though I love all the little kicks and punches and wondering what the hell is going on in there.

lollypopsicle · 02/05/2013 19:32

Oooh. Wine in the sun. Yes please! Midwife says I'm 4/5 engaged! She doesn't think I'll be overdue like I've been telling everyone I expect to be (DS was born at 41+1 after a sweep) so I'm allowing myself a tiny bit of hope that the champers and stinky cheese is not too far away.

Today I'm 37 weeks so allowed my home birth from today up to 42 weeks. Bring it on!

Sparklyboots · 02/05/2013 20:48

Artichook I'm in St Mary's in W London; it's actually inside the hospital but like a different universe. I only found it because last time I booked an appointment with a community midwife for a home birth and she asked me to meet her there. It was so lovely I was convinced! It's like a hotel inside the birth rooms, except with massive baths and neonatal support equipment if you open the cupboards. I'd just moved to London at the time, and didn't know anyone really apart from DP and MiL - neither of whom were massively supportive of a home birth. I think you probably need a sense of confidence during birth, so it was the right decision for us. We're going back because of the baths, tbh, no way we could get such a vast birthing pool in our second floor flat...

I have had some random beer thoughts recently but am not a big drinker usually anyway, so haven't really felt the lack. I can feel a single drink (okay, so more teetotal than 'not a big drinker') so probably can't have one when bub arrives because as I understand it, if you're more or less smashed then b milk will be more or less smashing... What I'm really looking forward to is being able to sleep on my stomach and lie down without getting a blocked nose from nose bleeds (wake up every morning with a completely dry and awful mouth). I also quite like sitting with my leg folded up in front of me, and tie up my allstars, which have been abandoned for months... Oh yeah! And keep up with my toddler more comfortably, specially since he's just decided running at the road is actively hilarious...

Love the sunshine, def boosted the old vit D today, a day in the park with DS. I've caught the sun - my lips sting - obvs he was slathered with sun cream and has just become adorably weathered. Really hoping for a generally lovely summer - DS was a winter baby so it seems like an entirely different prospect... Can't wait to shop for new, well everything really, I have an urge to throw everything I own at the moment, and replace it. Nesting, much?

Bunnychan · 02/05/2013 21:50

I can't wait to sleep on my back!! I've missed it so much!
I have a question maybe a tmi but not gross;
I been having a lot of niggly twinges below kinda like stabbing pains but not hard. It's like period aches in your lady parts/pelvis combined with that heavy 'my fanjo is going to fall out feeling'. Do you think my baby is engaging further? It was 4/5- just starting on sat when I saw the midwife

DXBMermaid · 02/05/2013 22:01

I am looking forward to a nice cold glass of white wine. Have a special bottle ready and chilled. And pate on crusty white bread.

Also looking forward to being able to walk, sit, roll over, stand up without pain and hopefully my snoring levels will become acceptable again so DH and I can sleep in the same bed again.

Bunny, not sure about what you are feeling. Have felt the baby move down, and have noticed diminished heartburn, but not had the 'fanjo feeling out' thing (yet).

lollypopsicle · 02/05/2013 22:59

bunny i've had similar pains these last few days. Also really uncomfortable on my bladder so sounds like engaging to me no expert mind
Did your midwife make clear if she meant 4/5 engaged or 4/5 palpable? As different midwives describe it differently (helpful! Confused) I asked my midwife and she made it quite clear that she meant 4/5 of the head was in my pelvis and she could just feel a bit of it. People have told me this week that my bump has dropped (but I couldn't really tell) so I guess this all fits. Have you noticed your bump dropping?

Bunnychan · 03/05/2013 06:07

lolly she said 4/5 palable that's why I wonder if its gone a bit more as I was really achy yesterday and then last night I kept waking up with period like back cramps. I'm so knackered!

lollypopsicle · 03/05/2013 06:39

Have you still got next week to go at work, bunny? Or do you finish today?

InNeedofSomeSleep · 03/05/2013 06:48

Your lucky your midwife tells you. Mine just says she is head down. Doesn't say if engaged or not. And I have fallen off the centile chart for size she has gone under all of a sudden and told me not to worry. Doesn't that mean the baby has stopped growing. Very confusing

InNeedofSomeSleep · 03/05/2013 06:50

And I'm starting to wish this baby would give some sort of sign she will e here soon, my lovely toddler woke me at 5am and I'm already exhausted. Can feel a moaning/whingy day starting.

Artichook · 03/05/2013 08:44

How odd. I just checked my notes and they say 3/5 palpable but I was told baby wasn't engaged at all.

I love this weather. My kids have been making kids in the garden for an hour already while I've enjoyed a quiet coffee and read of my book.

Has anyone else noticed a real decrease in movement towards the end? Two weeks ago the baby was comicly thrashing about everywhere, now I feel only gentle taps and squirms and even those are less frequent. I assume its the lack of space.

babygeek · 03/05/2013 09:15

Mmm, white wine in the sun! That will be fab Smile I did have a wee drink of beer yesterday (nice chilled pale ale) after we went on a walk and it tasted lovely. Can't wait to sleep any position and not have frickin heartburn every evening. So sick of swigging gaviscon eurgh. Will have to make up a new excuse for scoffing ice cream though...

I am waiting for the nesting urge to start so I can tidy/clean the house. So far I have looked around and thought that it would be great if the house was cleaned. This hasn't actually translated into me doing anything about it though so I don't know if that counts as nesting?

I have started to get niggly stabby pains, back pain and period like pain mainly in the evening so something is happening down there. Sometimes I get the fanjo about to fall out feeling when I am walking around. It's a very strange sensation. Friends have commented that bump has definitely dropped so it must be baby's head producing pressure.

I had a lovely long phone call with my mum in Australia yesterday and she told me her birth stories and advice. Apparently nursing mothers must have a shawl! Smile She was going to send me her one but it is currently in storage and she is quite concerned that I might not have one, which is sweet.

Arti your morning sounds so nice and relaxed. I have noticed less movements but also it's more whole body movements if that makes sense where your whole belly moves.
