Cheeseandbread · 24/05/2013 03:48

Oh... And the trackie bottoms belong to my DH... Classy girl that I am Wink

MrsRoss26 · 24/05/2013 07:48

cheese I've taken to wearing my dh's trackie bottoms in the evenings. They apparently are the most comfortable item of clothing in either of our wardrobes Grin

Good to see you back mystery

dinkystinky · 24/05/2013 09:00

Lol at the autocorrect of Emblosion! Cheese - respect missus at still teaching pe! My pe teachers always wore tracksuits and they weren't pregnant ( though it was the 80s and early 90s so a sign of the fashion times. Anyone remember those lovely shiny shell suits?) Enjoy your day off - not long till mat leave starts and no more SATs or reports. I was awake most of last night due to inability to breathe due to a heavy cold I've suddenly come down with. Blimming changeable may weather is to blame - it feels like October out there today!

dinkystinky · 24/05/2013 09:03

Mysterymeg - poor you, pregnancy is really hard on the body at the best of times. Hope you're feeling better now you can take things abit easier - and remember, the end is in sight!

Sashabella0 · 24/05/2013 10:37

Anyone been to a music festival whilst pregnant? Seriously thinking about Wychwood next weekend. Reckon I could make a rent quite cosy with an air bed and apparently Wychwood isn't that full on. DH and a load of mates are going.

31+2

dinkystinky · 24/05/2013 10:52

Sashabella - I've been to gigs while heavily pregnant and camping while pregnant (but only about 20 months) and both were fine. I'd basically take it as easy as you need to - maybe take a camping loo with you (as last trimester is when you start needing to make 50 billion trips to the loo in the middle of the night!) and lots of snacks and drinks - and see how it goes. If you're not enjoying it, you can always head home early.

Grannyapple · 24/05/2013 12:29

Hi ladies-just back from my 32wk scan. Placenta is still a bit low (1.2cm away from cervix...usually 3cm apparently). Any OBS/HCP's on this thread....does this prob mean a c section? Going back for a rescan at 36wks..

Quinandthem · 24/05/2013 13:18

hi, haven't posted in a while but been trying to keep up with you all.

Just had my 34wk midwife check and everything is still on track - quite like being boring in this matter.

Scarily i have now finished our NHS antenatal classes and breastfeeding sessions - does that mean we're meant to know what we're doing now!!!

Good luck to Oliver and Embolism

34+5

elliejjtiny · 24/05/2013 13:32

mysterymeg good to have you back
dinky good luck with the race
emblosion good luck with the induction.

I had my 34 week midwife appointment today. Measuring 42 weeks so not surprising I've been so uncomfortable. Head is still really high so not much chance of labour starting although my waters could go anytime. I've beem drinking raspberry leaf tea for a week now but not sure whether to start drinking 2 cups a day yet or leave it a bit longer.

notprincesskate · 24/05/2013 16:39

Dinky I'm [shocked] at your 20 months pregnant, I'm barely managing 9 Wink.
I've had a + of protein today and BP high for me at 138, very anxious that this is the PET starting to rear its head again, I'm feeling a bit off colour but also wondering if its psychological. I haven't been able to get hold of my midwife, and everyone else I've spoken to, has been a bit dismissive, as BP not yet at treatment level, I have to do another urine tomorrow and then see who I can get some info out of, just needing at bit of hand holding really.

dinkystinky · 24/05/2013 17:15

Doh - meant 20 weeks pregnant not months! Sending you hugs NPK and here to hold your hand. I think you've been super organised anyway incase PET raised its head - hopefully this is a false alarm and all will be fine. Hope your MW gets back to you soon.

Sashabella0 · 24/05/2013 17:17

Ticket bought for festival Grin. Thanks for the advice Dinky I was thinking about a bucket for my tent for during the night. Maybe I should look I to a camping loo.

Notprincesskate try and distract yourself from your BP as anxiety will raise it. Keep yourself occupied and try and be the opposite of anxious ie relaxed.

TotallyEggFlipped · 24/05/2013 19:31

I'm sure the festival will be great fun, Sasha. Take plenty of cushions & pillows!

Loving the 20 months, dinky - are you an elephant? (or maybe you just feel like one just now, you wouldn't be alone!) Grin

notprincess - keeping my fingers crossed for you that this is just a blip and your pee will be protein-free & BP normal on repeat testing. Smile

Thinking of shiv, mrshiv & Oliver. Hope they're doing well and there are more cuddles soon.

Good luck to emblosion

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend. Anyone got anything exciting planned? We'll be taking it easy & maybe heading to a local food festival on Sunday.

dinkystinky · 24/05/2013 20:34

Sometimes feel like an elephant Totally!

MarieKL · 24/05/2013 21:14

Cheese I'm loving your posh sloth combo. I had a bright pink and green shell suit in the 80s. I remember it being warm and comfrey. Maybe they should bring out a maternity version, though probably in more moted colours Smile

Notprincesskate I hope you get some reassurance tomorrow and manage to find a way of relaxing tonight.

Great to hear that everyone's 34wk check is going well.

Grannyapple I guess if they're scanning again it probably means there's a chance of it moving. I had a low lying placenta at my 28 week scan but at 35 weeks it was up near the top of my bump and 4-6cm clear. No idea how that works but hopefully it means yours still has a chance of moving too.

Totally a local food festival sounds good, though I'd probably eat everything in sight! We're finishing off decorating bedrooms so we can do a switch around and may go to the county show weather allowing.

Smiling at the 20 months Dinky. What with slugs, hippos, sloths and elephants were quite a zoo Grin

VinegarDrinker · 24/05/2013 21:25

Granny there's still a good chance of it moving, most units let you have a normal delivery if it's 2cm or more away, so not far off from where it is now.

Baby wiggling like crazy tonight, feels like she's trying to get out feet first via the sunroof!

34+3, this time next week I'll be on mat leave!

SundaySunshine · 24/05/2013 21:26

Hi all,
Wow exciting news re Emblosion. Good luck Smile

Hope you get better test results tomorrow NPK.

Enjoy the festival Sasha, sounds great, I'm quite envious.

Yay for wonderful skin to skin cuddles for Shiv! Great news Smile

I had an interesting night last night, got really regular BH contractions ( I think!) about every 8 minutes for nearly three hours! Wasn't sure if it was action stations or not. Didn't continue in the morning, so I guess it was a false alarm, or do you think it could be the very early stages??? Have been getting lots of random BH throughout today but nothing regular. Yikes I hope not as I'm supposed to be going on holiday next week Confused

dinkystinky · 25/05/2013 06:36

How are you doing today NotPrincessKate? I hope you got some sleep last night and your retest goes OK today.

Sunday - is this your second or third? I've read that sometimes those labours can be v stop start - BH love 3 hours sounds like early labour to me ( I had what I thought were BH for days only to be told they were contractions when being monitored with DS1). May be worth taking your notes and bag on holiday with you - just in case!

Listen up babies - you are due in JULY! June or August are acceptable at a pinch but no earlier!!!

Cheeseandbread · 25/05/2013 06:38

Marie I like the sound of your shell suit! I remember the fluorescent phase... I never had a shell suit but had green and yellow crop tops that I loved- matched with bright orange shoes... I looked fab!

Sunday sounds like excitement in your house... I can't offer advice as a first timer that hasn't happen toe yet. If it is all stations go then good luck!!

Not Princess I'm not sue what PET is but hope you're ok.

Sasha oooooh a festival- lots of fun!

32+0

photographerlady · 25/05/2013 06:56

Morning all! Big catchup on this thread.

Sunday hope the rest of your night went ok and the BH cooled down.

Vine I am on mat leave next Friday too! Let the countdown to maternity leave begin!

Sasha have a lovely time at the festival :)

This weekend is nursery weekend for us. Making the spare bedroom into more of a space for all the baby things. we have a massive bunk bed in there that just takes up the place so DH will work on that and I will get cracking at washing baby gros and cloth nappies.

Purchasing wise I think we have everything now. I never thought I be so excited about a piece of cloth but my hoppediz hop tye carrier arrived yesterday. Looks awesome I can't recommend it til the LO is here but it was my favourite at the sling library.

Off to inlaws for breakfast and have my MIL say how large I am lol. Have a lovely bank holiday all.

dinkystinky · 25/05/2013 11:40

Baby stuff day here today too - picked up a moses basket (spare one to keep on first floor incase our room is too hot for the baby and to take on weekends away in the first few months instead of digging out travel cot from loft) and stand - both never used - plus spare sheets from a local mum for £25, baby bjorn washed for DH to use (seems to suit his long thin body best) and on second load of 3-6 month baby washing. May need to get round to packing for our holiday at some point - think it might be a job for this evening though.

dinkystinky · 25/05/2013 11:46

Also we're almost out of thread space - how about this for next thread title

" Dammit babies, learn how to read a calendar! Due in JULY 2013 - thread 8"

[Grin]

TotallyEggFlipped · 25/05/2013 12:51

Like it, dinky

Abzs · 25/05/2013 17:37

Have made the cot decision - by ordering a mattress for the smaller one. Now need sheets and bedding.

It is sunny here, so I've been washing the fabric bits of the pram/car seat. Hopefully it will all be dry as I'll need to go and get it in soon. Question of the day - do I wash newly purchased clothing and towels etc and take the chance of the smaller clothes not fitting?

Weird body thing of the day - if Small kicks upward I'm hearing a little clicking/snapping sound. Like if you flick one fingernail off another. I'm pretty sure it's coming from me, not Small or my imagination

dinky not sure if the proposed thread 8 title might be tempting fate...

dinkystinky · 25/05/2013 18:07

Good point Abzs - happy for someone else to suggest a less fate tempting title!
