Old friend** what's wrong with my phone!

PhieEl06 · 26/04/2013 08:51

Morning all, brought some lovely stuff from H&M last night, I had no idea they had the "mama" range in my local store so was pleasantly surprised, spent an absolute fortune on ASOS too. Blush
Have a lovely half day at work planned, with nothing to do so currently sitting with my feet up Internet shopping & browsing MN.
Hai cravings seem to have slowed for me now, I just like food in general, still having the occasional daily orange ice lolly but apart from that I'm finding food less & less appealing! Meeting your old friend sounds lovely, hope you have a nice time!

If I've already handed my maternity leave dates in can I change them now as long as I give 28 days notice or do I have to stick to what I've put originally, don't think I can cope with the stress up to 38 weeks!

Have a nice day all! 27+6

dinkystinky · 26/04/2013 09:26

Thanks Icing - I think there are hundreds and hundreds of people effected (they've cancelled 8 showings) - at least we found out last night rather than on Sunday which would have been even more annoying. Will get refund for me and DH and new tickets for my sister and BIL if I can - as the film is a 15 doubt they'll let me bring Bean along... Glad you had a lovely 4D scan.

Totally - ugh, poor you. Hope you have a lovely night away with DH> Whereabouts in London are you going to be and do you have anything planned? Time out online is great for letting you know whats on if you do feel like doing stuff.

Hai - have fun with your friend and the baby. No real cravings here though am still eating a mostly veggie diet.

Phie - sounds like you're totally sorted for your holiday now. I think you can change your dates if you need to - of course the more notice you give, the better.

dinkystinky · 26/04/2013 14:17

Aah, feeling happier now - my lovely little sister has found a movie and dinner deal at Charlotte Street Hotel we're going to go to on Sunday evening instead. Abit easier to go to than Croydon!

dinkystinky · 26/04/2013 16:50

Where is everybody? All busy nesting/shopping/preparing for holidays?

shelley72 · 26/04/2013 16:57

im here! trapped under DS who is shattered after school whilst DD jumps off the sofa.

no shopping for me, thought i had to buy some NB sleepsuits and then i found a brand new set today that i bought ages ago when i was going through DSs trunk. boo. there must be something i need right? this is no fun at all!!!

have quiet weekend planned after last weekends hospital trips before the MW on monday. whats the betting that she asks AGAIN which type of birth i am going for?

agree that everyone is strangely quiet today!

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 26/04/2013 16:58

It really is quiet today..I think everyone is trying to make the most of the sunshine!

I went to the Drs today about the pains/cramps in my tummy and I'm being referred to physio about my back and Dr thinks the tummy pains are all muscular and a result of baby being low, combined with the back issues. I'm hoping physio might help both as am starting to feel a bit down about it all now Sad Because I know I've still got 10 weeks to go, I'm finding it hard to talk myself up!

Shopping - all sorted in that dept, just got the pram to order next weekend. Decided on an Uppababy Cruz and v excited!

Holidays - am very jealous of you all! I would love nothing more than a holiday right now, albeit a sitting down one!

Cravings - not really had any cravings/aversions as such, although I am rather enjoying chewy sweets. Gummy bears and the like. Not craving them really, but perhaps that's because I just keep eating them!

Re everyone having worries lately - you can tell it's the last trimester! We need a motivational speaker I think!

Let the glamour continue! Smile

Working. I'm going shopping for a new kitchen rather than SC. the joys of being a grown up Confused

Abzs · 26/04/2013 17:01

Am not busy at all dinky. Think the weekend has caught up with me. Have spent the day vegging on the sofa.

I have done one and a half loads of washing - the half because I knocked basket over while I was hanging the it on the airer and it went in the litter tray.

Abzs · 26/04/2013 17:11

"hanging the it"?

Shows the sorry state of my brain today...

BB01 · 26/04/2013 17:11

Phie glad you found some good stuff to buy. I finally managed to track down a H&M with maternity stuff and was really happy with my purchases. Some nice very long t shirts.

Cravings wise my worst ones are still chocolate and cold sweet drinks so nothing too shocking but having to really try not to think about Coke too much as I'm its new biggest fan and I know it's awful for you :-(

Cheeseandbread · 26/04/2013 17:12

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been quiet for a while... Stressful time at work lately- lots of tears this week Sad I've had a couple of lesson observations this week- first was awful- my white board broke mid lesson and made me flustered. I got pulled up for various little things as well. Second one went very well so that was a relief. One of my friends is also retiring today so there were more tears... We are all going out for a meal tonight but I'm shattered!

Thanks Dinky for the update on little Oliver. He is always in my thoughts at the mo. Good to know he is gaining weight and hopefully getting stronger. I was born at 28 weeks and as I come to that milestone tomorrow I feel good.

Sorry to those who have been feeling under the weather lately. I hope everyone is able to get some rest over the weekend.

Happy birthday for the other day icing

BB01 · 26/04/2013 17:13

Hope you get your aches and pains sorted out indecisive and glad to see you are no longer an indecisive pram buyer!

MrsMillions · 26/04/2013 17:56

I've been hobbling around today with residual pain from cramp at 6am, don't know if it's the cramp itself or the over-stretching in my half-asleep state causing me problems but not nice either way.

A bit fed up with my small maternity wardrobe so using the excuse of sunshine to buy some summery things for these last few weeks - and early days postnatal too. Started an online order at work to finish at home tonight.

Got a 10" square fruit cake to bake this weekend ready for my dad's 60th. My house is going to smell of Christmas while it cooks! Any exciting weekend plans amongst you ladies? (Well done dinky's sister for the alternative cinema trip!)

MIL is puzzling us both with random purchases for us/baby...she's now got muslins, nail scissors and a car sun shade. Sweet of her but very odd.

29+1 and sooo glad it's the weekend.

Cheeseandbread · 26/04/2013 18:07

Oooooooh Mrs Millions I like the sound of your cake baking! Sorry you've been in pain lots of the day. Indecisive we like uppababy too but are going for the vista.

I got given a load of maternity clothes from a friend to borrow so have lots of choice now which is lovely as I only had a few bits before.

DHs birthday on Monday so we are going to MIL for supper tomorrow which should be fun. She bought us a high chair the other day which was sweet even if we won't need it for a bit. Also picking up a cot from SIL tomorrow so we should only need to but a mattress for it.

dinkystinky · 26/04/2013 19:21

Aah nice to see you all back on - thought I was nattering to myself back there.

Indecisive - I hope the physio helps with your aches and pains. Also hope the cramps pass soon MrsMillions - I know I have said it before but I swear by mag phos pillules to help alleviate pregnancy cramps - that and gentle exercise.

Cheese - so sorry work has been stressful/emotional. Not long to go till mat leave though! Enjoy your dinner tonight.

Sashabella - enjoy the kitchen shopping. That was the bit I liked best when we did up our house.

Happy birthday to your dad MrsMillioms - v sweet that you're baking him his cake! And happy birthday to your DH for Monday Cheese too - hope he has a good day.

Abzs - I hate it when stuff like that happens to freshly washed stuff.

dinkystinky · 26/04/2013 19:24

Shelley - know what you mean about not having to buy anything for no 3 being no fun. I've bought some little vests and tshirts (including the r2d2 one) to alleviate my boredom on that front...

Also should we be placing bets on the next random purchase by MrsMillions MIL? I reckon a bath thermometer...

shelley72 · 26/04/2013 19:38

nah i think it will be a baby wipe warmer or a nappy stacker Grin

MightBeMad · 26/04/2013 19:58

Evening all! Sorry for being AWOL. DH has been away so I've been flying solo with work and toddler. He's now on his way back from the airport, via the Chinese to get a takeaway and I can't wait (to see DH and for the Chinese!!!).

27 weeks today

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/04/2013 19:59

I had my 28 week check at the MW today and the nurse popped in to give me my whooping cough vaccine whilst I was there to save me making a separate appointment - how's that for service? It was great to hear the baby's heartbeat again. Everything was fine, except she measured my bump as 24. She referred me for a growth scan, but said that was because DD had IUGR and didn't mention any issue with measuring smallish today. Anyway, had a call from the hospital in the afternoon to ring back to make an appointment for Monday! Very excited that we'll get to see the baby again. Smile

TotallyEggFlipped · 26/04/2013 20:00

Enjoy your Chinese, MightBe

Supershiv1 · 26/04/2013 20:25

I held Oliver!

[quickly pulls neck back in as need to go and express again and not sure if it's all a dream]

VinegarDrinker · 26/04/2013 20:26

What fantastic news shiv !

Abzs · 26/04/2013 20:28

I appear to have gone mad just ripped the grotty carpet off the stairs. CatB is very put out (DH may well be when he gets home too).

Abzs · 26/04/2013 20:30

That's brilliant Shiv!
